- Here is the full lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon that was the first Oswald cartoon to be produced. They weren`t happy with Oswald being old and redesigned him for Trolley Troubles, which marked his first success.

I have a theory that Walt went back and updated the animation for this episode before releasing it because the quality doesn't look bad for the time that universal had to reject the pilot. If not perhaps they didn't see long term potential in a series of a character this old.
I can see why they changed him, a grumpy old rabbit wasn't a very good main character, I wonder how long he would've stayed if they kept it though....

Some people think that Fanny Cottontail, Oswald's first leading lady, is the biological mother of his 420 children because of this short. However, I try to view animated cartoons as they are viewed in the world of Roger Rabbit: filmed fictitious events that are not necessarily reflective of toons' offscreen realities. In other words, one could argue that the rabbit here, if she even _is_ Fanny, to be merely playing the part of the mama.

It's possible that this was inspired by the Ellis Parker Butler novella Pigs is Pigs, which was also the basis for The Trouble With Tribbles.

I've seen this beuatiful cartoon multiple times Oswald the lucky rabbit and is a big pitty that Walt Disney loss his first project with Ub Iwerks due to the deal with Universal and well it would be good if Disney tries to bring back Oswald wit new animation methods .
And the message of this episode is that a papa rabbit raise their children and they go nuts and why many children because rabbits usually tends to have more than one baby and that's funny by the way and the name of the cap poor papa

You mean the music? The Oswald cartoons all got new music for their rereleases, so they sound different. I think this was from 2017.
