    '78 grad here. Clean Trans Ams still look as great today as they did forty years ago. Not quite the Heritage brown one you showed a while back but that blue is a striking color. Thanks again!

      Thanks! Yeah, that heritage brown one was my own personal car... I'd love to have it back. This Nocturne Blue is gorgeous though!

    Friend of mine had a 79 and another guy in school at the same time had a Mustang GT (back in 85). It was a constant contest.. The GT would take it off the start every time, and fairly easily, but the TA would catch up and over a 1/4 + miles it was almost side by side. TA only went to 85 (stang, too) on the speedo, but you were able to wrap that sucker back around.

    My friend bought one of these Brand New with Blue interior back in 1980 . Loved that car ! Let me drive it when i got my permit
    WE cruised in that thing every weekend with ELO, Van Halen, on level 11...A Pure Magnet during its time ! He later wrecked it
    into a tree 3 blocks from a house party , Luckily i stayed at the House party. He lived but the car unfortunately was totaled. Would love to find one one day !

    Wrong decals on the shaker; the T/A 6.6 in '79 was the Pontiac 400 - which was paired only with the 4-speed manual. This car has the Olds 403/automatic and should have 6.6 litre on its scoop.

      Gold interior with gold wheels would have had the gold decals. I remember because I sold them then.

    I bought a Solar Gold 1979 Trans-Am 2 months ago (it’s darn near mint) and I would drive it in my sleep if that was possible.....and legal. Great Video! 🤠

    The Nocturn Blue paint is spot on. But the decals are not correct. Nocturne Blue with tan interior / gold wheels should have GOLD decals...not blue.

    Gorgeous beautiful car . The only thing I'd change is the decal colors to gold to compliment the sand interior. Pristine otherwise ! 👍🏻💥

      You can't go wrong with the body lines projected by a stock '79 WS6 or WS7 T.A. unless said vehicles have a 301,,,

      @@V8AmericanMuscleCar better off with 77 - 78 model / not an Olds engine and much faster.

      I would vote for the TA myself. Love the style of the TA body, and the Pontiac interiors were much nicer too. If you're a taller, the TA has more leg room as well.
      Just fyi, the TA's were available with the 403 Olds engine from 1977. If you want a Pontiac 400, look for a W-72 powered TA. Those are the good ones.
      The Z-28's had better gear ratio's available than the TA's. It helped the Chevy V-8's move from a stop. Remember, the biggest engine you could get in a Z-28 was a 350.
      Good luck with your search!

    • @googleusergp
      @googleusergp Год назад

      No, this is an Olds 403 car which only came with an automatic (TH350). This car has the wrong hood scoop decals as it should have the "6.6 LITRE" ones on it.. "T/A 6.6" is for the high performance (W72) 400 Pontiac engine. Yes, in 1979, that only came with a four speed manual transmission.
