Californians... some advice on sandbags. They are completely worthless unless you put down a plastic liner underneath the bags and against the wall. The sandbags hold the plastic down so water cant get in. Just using sand will do nothing.
You can create a water tight barrier with the sandbags themselves if you place them correctly - lay them flat and mold the sand together.
they Actually now sell Plastic FLOOD barriers at LOWES and Home Depot.
Thats what they get for voting democrat 😆
@@sweendog27690 clue what that has to do with strong weather but other issues yes people here in California have 0 common sense
Thank you father!
Love the storm shots with “wet suit sale”😆
That car flipping looked like a NASCAR crash! Why are these people driving so fast in those conditions? I guess they learned a lesson the hard way!
they like to scam us
Driving too fast and most people on the roads have terrible quality tires with very basic tread that doesn't evacuate water away from the tires well. Also using cruise control can cause hydroplaning as well.
Because when it rains in LA, people freak out and have no idea how to drive in it.
@@chadmorris946 I've seen people driving in rain and not using their windshield wipers. 🙄
LA (or CA) has some of the worst drivers in the world.

Use a lot of Wet Suits, do You?
As a lifelong California resident, anytime we get a storm of any kind, you better believe they will overhype it.
This all boils down to two houses were damaged out of thousands and thousands of houses and the rain caused mud…
Even the accident they showed can barely be blamed on the storm, people here drive like idiots going 70 through a pool of water. Same thing goes for the people who try to drive through puddles, get stuck and then the news reports it like it’s some type of “unprecedented” disaster lol
We’ve had some rain everyone,
You’re going to be alright!
In a few years they’ll be reporting an unprecedented drought again…
It doesn’t have to be a massively destructive event for all home and car insurance policy premiums to go up for everybody. That’s the problem as climate change intensifies these systems and the damages become more costly.
ROFL CLIMATE CHANGE!!! ROFL WHAT A LOSER@@mrparts
@@mrparts There is nothing "intensifying" -- the storms and their effects were just as bad or worse back in the 1960s and 1970s.

I was literally in studio city today, took the canyons. Saw none of this.

It never ceases to amaze me when there is flooding in any city, there are still idiots that drive thru flooded streets and areas at break-neck-speeds throwing up water feet into the air, causing more unnecessary damage to cars, homes, landscape erosion, and property. Those idiots need to sited, fined and slow down and realize they are creating more damage.
It's always the SUV's that think their AWD tires can handle any weather condition.
You do know people go to work. Blame the idiots who force them to work on a flooding day
@@HungrySlothDEFCON1they can stay home or find another route. It's not worth your life.
I also think it’s very unfair to blame people for going to work. It’s not worth losing your life - but imagine being a parent with 2 jobs who has to keep your family housed and fed. Your choices are go to work and drive carefully or stay home and risk losing your jobs and then homelessness and then you get your kids taken away because some Karen reports your for living in your car with your children. It’s really easy to lose everything when you’re making minimum wage.
I do judge the a-hole California drivers who don’t turn on headlights or slow down. Last month I drove up from Orange County and it was pouring… and only about 1% of cars had headlights on. At one point, visibility was like 200 ft and no lights.
@@HungrySlothDEFCON1people don’t have to drive 70mph in standing water to get to work lol, leave earlier if need be

They need to invest in their Flood Control System Infrastructure. Anybody deny that?
No. It’s idiotic that this is never addressed.
That money for infrastructure is used for illegal immigrants every year. Main reason that dam in Northern California collapsed a few years back. Any money left over from greedy politicians is used for their new voter base.

Flood Control System ??? Gavin NewScum is too busy still building his pet project Bullet train from Los Angeles to Sacramento (that has been going on for over 10 years) at a cost of trillions of taxpayer dollars and is still barely off the drafting table to be bothered with a flood control system. NewScum needs to rethink his priorities and protect Californian's.

Hope we all get a water bill notice stating prices are going down! Them badgers would send up to three notices nearly 2 years ago about water rates going up because of the drought.

Did people really expect to NEVER get rain in LA ever?
we get it every year!

Kinda funny the way they do roads now that's most of the problem 60's through 70's there would have been less flooding even with that much rain it's a fifty year flooding again.
