The fact your writing silly comments on RUclips and he's posting videos is enough... Also he's probably a process scientist so a clever bloke who's interested in the knowledge of keeping your rivers clean and thus everything else happy
I had an entire class in wastewater management that seemed to be very confusing throughout the entire semester. I feel like if I would have seen this video on the first day everything would have made a lot more sense! Well done.
When someone is a deep expert in a domain, and then they also give a really solid, clear explanation of the basic concepts, it's absolute gold, like this video.
A HIGHLY INTELLIGENT INDIVIDUAL SHARING HIS WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE ON THIS SUBJECT IS AWESOME JUST STARTED WORKING AS A WASTE WATER OPERATOR THE INSIGHT IS APPRECIATED THANK YOU
I would like to thank Blacoh and Russ Wright for doing an excellent job of presenting the material in a manner which is easy to understand. Due to timing of course availability at Delaware County Community College I was forced to attend the second half of the course for Wastewater Certified Operator Training, which happened to be activated sludge, without having taken the first half of the course. Since I was unemployed and had limited time left for benefits, time was precious. Finding your videos enabled me to learn what I had missed, while simultaneously being introduced to the new material being taught in classroom.. Within four months I was taking the state board exams and passed four exams at one test session. I wouldn't have done it without the additional knowledge gained from your instructional videos!
This information is very helpful. water treatment processes, water sector innovations, environmental challenges and public policies impacting the water industry
This is BY FAR the best wasterwater water video i have ever seen (including any class in my 13 years of classes in wasterwater) This man knows how to teach. So glad a stumbled across this and I will be for sure watching any and all his other videos. Thank you sir
This is such an excellent video for anyone struggling to understand activated sludge treatment and the parameters. The professor has a calm and clear voice which makes listening and understanding very easy.
This video is very informative and explained in plain language. I have to say it is hands down the best video explaining Activated Sludge that I have ever watched. I wish I had found this one first. THANK YOU!
i learned so many things from this video and it makes me more understand in this topic. very well explained about overview of the activated sludge process in wastewater treatment (typical wastewater treatment plant, wastewater treatment parameters, wastewater biochemistry, typical process configuration, activated sludge operating parameters, types of system). Thank you so much!
I've just started water treatment course but this lecture is briliant from the experincied engineer who knows the subject and knows how to explain. It's very rare combination.
thanks for this video. ive recently begun the process of being a water/wastewater operator and im actually looking forward to it. these videos are great to watch while i wait for my training supplies to arrive.
Very clear explanation. interesting video. wishing for a similar session/video on the design of wastewater treatment, step by step design calculation, especially for beginners
Thank you for the explanation, Hydraulic retention time is something new for me, it's very2 importand in sludge operating parameters, because you get a great increase of flow through your treatment plant if i have trouble in my cities -FTIUJ
Very informative video and easy to understand. One correction I believe needs to be made about the DO concentration and filamentous organisms; they tend to favor LOW DO concentrations, not HIGH DO concentrations.
An excessive population of filamentous organisms may be related to the following: 1. Low DO in the aeration tank. 2. Insufficient nutrients (e.g. Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Iron).
its such a amazing explanation about water management expecialy about activated sludge. thx shir this explanatioan makes me more understad about basic of water management.
Thank you for the efforts made to explain the water treatment process, and public policy. There are several activities and water quality analysis that I did during my internship in one of the hazardous waste treatment industries

The fact that people like this actually take time out of their lives to explain this is amazing to me
calm down buddy
It’s because he enjoys his job. I’m at Wastewater Operator and I would love to teach people about this.
The fact your writing silly comments on RUclips and he's posting videos is enough...

Thankyou! Not only a great explanation of the operation but also the acronyms and jargon that process engineers indiscrimately use cheers!
Very informative video and easy to understand. One correction I believe needs to be made about the DO concentration and filamentous organisms; they tend to favor LOW DO concentrations, not HIGH DO concentrations.
Correct. Filamentous favor low DO, not high DO.
An excessive population
of filamentous organisms
may be related to the
following:
1. Low DO in the aeration
tank.
2. Insufficient nutrients
(e.g. Nitrogen,
Phosphorus, Iron).
he is right to some extent; they don't settle well in the secondary clarifier
thats right , I've just checked it out in metcalf and eddy .
they do prefer low DO
Thank you so much !..im so glad i saw this
Informative and great video.
Very informative! The aeration principle is also used in older stretford tail gas processes at sulfur recovery units within an oil refinery.
Gonna give this a listen when I get home. I definitely SUCK at studying from a book.
