- I hope you guys enjoyed this video and it helped you see what a 2011 Mustang V6 sounds like with Borla ATAKs! They are loud but not too loud in my opinion, but I enjoy a nice loud exhaust. I'm looking into getting a mid-pipe and headers soon!

they crackle less after many miles are put on them, ive had them for about 10k miles and still make me smile every time i open them up
I’ve driven mine with 50k and they are as loud as they were from the day they were installed. I have an automatic and can make these crackle and pop on demand.

Hey man sorry for this question, pretty sure there is an easy answer, I’m just new to all this. I’m going to get my first Mustang and Ofcourse it’s a v6 2011. I just can’t seem to find the right Borla Atak for this year all of them say they don’t fit. Can you link the one you got? Thank you.

@@robertsharpe4050 oh man the memories. Most people say you can really feel the difference of the 2 tunes in an automatic. Mpt shifts so smooth. Manual wasn't really much of a difference but I had both and preferred the 91 mpt tune better. Plus they had a ghost cam tune that was awesome to.
@@oso999x just got a bama tune and I'm real happy with it so if the mpt is really that much better looks like I gotta try the mpt
@@robertsharpe4050 enjoy it for a bit. Get all your mods in and get the free tune from Bama. Once you're done modding, if you can switch to MPT with all your mods. They don't do free tune updates.
Legit almost sounds like a 2j when you put your foot into it..
how is the drone between like 1900-2500rpm? Do these successfully tame it? My current (2016) SLP LM2's /w x-pipe amplifies the drone in this range.

hey another fellow NJ stang guy! where are you located by? also, sounds good. i've got atak's on my '14 but i'm swapping them out for tourings now. had them on a little over a year and i'm just sick of how loud they get at WOT. too much rasp for me. wanna get a little more tame lol..it's gonna be SO loud with headers though man, you might end up looking into something less than the ataks!
haha what's up man! I'm in Monmouth county, I go to the cars and coffee in Millstone pretty often and Englishtown Raceway Park. That's understandable the ATAK's are loud but I love them. They definitely will be crazy loud with headers and an x-pipe but we'll see how it goes. Do you go to any car shows/meets in the area?
nice! i'm in ocean county. i actually just got my stang 2 years ago and i still haven't been to any shows/meets because there's none near me in ocean.
and yeah the atak's are cool, i like the sound, but there's a certain area of rpm's i don't like with how they sound a bit too ricey/raspy for me, ya know? i just want something more chill after hearing them for over a year now haha just gotta change it up! i never wanted ataks, always wanted stingers, but i coudlnt pass up a good deal when i got my ataks used. stingers to me sound identical, so i went with touring. waiting for a guy to ship em to me

I'm confused. Is the sound at 4:11 what you are considering drone or are you saying there is no drone at all at the points between? Not sure if that's you accelerating or at 4:12 what the freeway at 65-75 is going to sound like. Can someone with ATAKS on a A V6 let me know? Thanks!
Can tell you from personal experience on my 2012 v6. It took about a year to fully break in. Extremely high pitched sound until then but once they broke in it was exactly what I wanted and def let people know I was around. On highway when accelerating past it would get loud but at cruising it wasn’t very loud from inside. Higher rpm’s the louder it was. Had an automatic and going under bridges and putting it in neutral and revving was my favorite to hear the echo and crackle. But my experience may also be different. I had a lemon in a state that doesn’t recognize lemon law so it may have just been a fluke on my part completely. It shifted like it wanted to be a standard and jumped forward like it thought it was a v8. So my experience is probably not the majority’s lol. 10/10 would recommend the exhaust tho. It’s loud when you want it to be but also can be quiet when you need it to be. But also makes a v6 sound a lot better. The x pipes on them is automatically going to give it a slightly higher pitch than if you switched out for a h pipe but you’re going to lose some horsepower doing that. It’s all about preference. Ataks we’re the only mufflers I thought worth putting on the v6.

With just the ATAKs its fine, I never had any problems with drone.

Get borla atak axel backs. They are around 900.00 new. Then get bbk shorty headers and find and x pipe or h pipe you like with cats.
What highways you driving on bud? My 2011 3.7 V6 sits at 1700rpm at 70mph. Not even close to 2.5k. 2.5k in 6th its easily 80+. With the stock 2.73 gearing anyway

No these are just the axelback exhaust with the tips they go for like 1200 now on American muscle

question! If you have a Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust. what kind of Headers can you get that will fit. Also, I have a 2012 v6 mustang
Your catback won't affect which headers you can choose since the mid pipe is in the middle. However if you aren't changing the stock mid pipe you can only run shorty headers. To run long tube headers you need a shorty mid pipe. I actually just bought a BKK Catted X Pipe that I will be installing soon and posting a video of it!

I don't think you could really go wrong with either of them! I know the ATAKs are louder than the S-Types.
The ATAKs are just a waste of money!You can get a much better sound with just a pair of SLP loudmouths at 6 times less of the price of the ATAKs.
Listen for yourself on my video and you'll change your mind for sure about getting the Borlas, they're just way too overpriced

Well mine is a V6, but you can try the Borla ATAK exhaust. It is loud and raspy for a catback, but not overbearing. I have ATAKs with a x-pipe now and its still not too loud to daily in my opinion.
Ferr I was kidding... sorry kid... I would never want my V8 to sound like a V6! I have H pipe and MBRPs with long tubes and it is perfect. Goats can idle next...

Right? V8 guys can be dicks sometimes. I've never understood they feel the need to berate those with smaller engines. Of course they won't be as fast as their v8 counterparts but they're still pretty quick and awesome cars regardless.
