I was out cutting up a 24" hickory tree, 29 rounds to the V and it started raining so I was here when your video went up. Hope that kindling thing works for you. I know you have worked hard on it. If I was burning your pine, it is so small, I don't know why you would need kindling. Your firewood is so perfect and small, my fire starters would light them up. Hit it harder Phil. That is a nice looking box, I hope someone doesn't walk off with it. I like the signs, that is a great idea. Hopefully you will pick up some large orders by having one of them at each stand.
I’ve never seen a hickory tree but that sounds like a big one . To be honest you don’t need kindling to start our pine we tryed a firestarter the other night and everything lit right up . We’re hoping the boxes with the signs will pay off
@@AllenFamilyFirewood You want to see hickories, you need to come visit. 1/3 of my 45 acres are hickories. that was an average size one. I had 2 uproot last year that were 48". That stuff is heavy, close to white oak, maybe heavier. I have cut up to 53 rounds before I hit a limb
If the campground will let you drive around, campgrounds can be a gold mine. I used to do that at a campground on Fri. and Sat. evenings and would sell a whole truck load pretty fast. The campground finally started selling wood when they saw how much I was selling. Congrats on the wedding and the grandchild on the way. Once the grandchild comes, you will probably find that your stacking machine won't be around as much. With my wife, the grandkids ALWAYS come first.

Lot going on at the Woodyard and my dog has been real sick and today we got the word he has cancer along with finding we had no water when we got home today from the vets and the plumber hadn’t goten back to us yet . So it’s been a crazy day and it might be a bit before we get another video out .

I'm a fire fighter and I've spent hours imagining the firewood truck... buying an old firetruck loading it up with wood and going to farmers markets and what not. I think it could be done if you have time. I do not have the time lol

Great video guys. Your doing everything right. Just a matter of time before business really picks up. School will out soon and the weather is getting warmer. People will be having their fires. I originally listed my add for kindling on Marketplace like you saw and took it off because of an order for 100 bundles every Sunday to a campground. I realized I could easily fill that order so I advertised again. We'll, I had a guy show up last night to pick up 8 bundles of kindling. He said he has a summer rental in a campground and he asked if it was alright if he mentioned me to the owner of the campground because they don't sell kindling. I said absolutely. He also asked if he could buy a cord of hardwood because the campground only sells pine and it burns too fast. So if your kindling doesn't sell soon I would advertise on Marketplace. It helped me out greatly. And just think, I was giving them away before I took your advice. Thanks again. Maybe I should give you a commission. Have a great evening guys.

The major difference I can see between your bundles and the vast majority of the other stands is most of them are selling hardwood. I see you forgot to list prices for hardwood on your signs. Thanks! We’ve been thinking about adding the hardwood, but the majority of the wood we get is pine so we don’t want to advertise it and then not be able to deliver. We have seen more people wanting hardwood now though.
I think maybe your kindling will sell a little slower because you are selling pine bundles. We sell a lot of kindling but hardwoods are harder to get lit than pine. I think it will eventually pick up for ya. Congrats on the wedding and grandchild on the way!👊🏻
Hi I can't sell kindling in my bin until about August then people are buying kindling for winter heating I can't get enough ahead to keep my bin stocked so don't get discouraged it's slow this time of year I bundle starts about 4 fires so campers don't need much anyway that's just how it works here if you put an ad on you could get winter orders I have orders for this winter to fill now kindling sells better all winter here that's just my 2 cents worth another good video and have a nice day
Well it wasn’t his eye so much we found out . He has cancer and they gave him some fluids and some stuff so he will be able to hold down food and water . Just hoping to make him comfortable for a few days to see if he gets better but eventually we know the outcome .

Sometimes you sell lots and others not so well.. but at the end of the day it more than covers the delivery cost when I load the stores with bags.. just keep at it and try add on sales to your cord sales..

I have a kindling point. My local grocery store has firewood bundles and next to it are boxed kindling at $6.95. I have observed this display for several weeks. The firewood sells regularly (I watch the display about 3 times per week. And the firewood display goes up and down. By my count there have been two kindling boxes sold (I marked the boxes so I could determine sales). They seem expensive. The box says kiln dried but there is no indication how much kindling is in each box.
We’re hoping at least some of it will sell this yr it’s our first time trying it . Good thing is it should last a few yrs if I keep it covered in the Woodyard .

Our pallets are half cord , 3 rows of 16 in wood 4 ft tall and 4 ft wide so 1/4 cord would be 1 and a half rows . Some of our pallets also half a cord are 2 rows of 16 in wood 4 ft tall and 6 ft wide and on them pallets it would be just 1 row for a 1/4 cord
Question your RUclips channel is such a success and have a ton of subscribers yet I don’t see any indication that the bag stands are Allen Family Firewood, would the name on the stand help with sales?

Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but we sell about 2000 bundles of firewood a year but only around 125 bundles of kindling. Our kindling bundles each include a fire starter and we sell at $ 3. Hope you do better.
Hopefully the deck boxes pan out it was the only thing I could think of that was fairly inexpensive, quick build and yet presentable, I have my doubts about selling kindling but who knows. Perhaps if you sold unseasoned firewood it would increase your kindling sales.
That was a great idea thanks . After buying plywood , paint and hinges Ida spent the same amount pr box building them as we did buying them and it saved a bunch of time for me . That’s the best thing about RUclips is everyone has ideas and we all learn from each other. Thanks again for the idea on the deck boxes .

You may want to take a little short piece of chain and screw it to the Kingdom box and then wrap it around one of the sideboards of ybundle stand.

Get one of those water/beer trucks that side load. Pull down doors , separate departments to keep product in place.

I have a kindling point. My local grocery store has firewood bundles and next to it are boxed kindling at $6.95. I have observed this display for several weeks. The firewood sells regularly (I watch the display about 3 times per week. And the firewood display goes up and down. By my count there have been two kindling boxes sold (I marked the boxes so I could determine sales). They seem expensive. The box says kiln dried but there is no indication how much kindling is in each box.
We’re hoping at least some of it will sell this yr it’s our first time trying it . Good thing is it should last a few yrs if I keep it covered in the Woodyard .
I think you will sell out extremely fast. I need to get into bundle wood. Hope you guys are doing well.
Thanks Jerry so far there hasn’t been very much demand around here for the kindling but we’re gona keep trying . Been right out strait in the Woodyard and dealing with our sick dog that we had to put down the other day so we haven’t put much time into RUclips but we’re getting back at it slowly .

Hi guys, got a question for you. What are the dimensions for your 1/4 cord? Because I'm having a head scratching moment on what 1/4 cord would be. Love your wood stands. good job!
Our pallets are half cord , 3 rows of 16 in wood 4 ft tall and 4 ft wide so 1/4 cord would be 1 and a half rows . Some of our pallets also half a cord are 2 rows of 16 in wood 4 ft tall and 6 ft wide and on them pallets it would be just 1 row for a 1/4 cord
The kindling is going bto work but it may be when we are back into heating our house.
You might be right , we pull our stands usually in early November before the snow kicks in so that’s probably not an option for us.

That’s a good question I don’t know if it would or not but we were thinking about adding our sticker to the signs and the pay boxes . Definitely worth a try . Thanks .
Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but we sell about 2000 bundles of firewood a year but only around 125 bundles of kindling. Our kindling bundles each include a fire starter and we sell at $ 3. Hope you do better.

Not sure there’s enough $ in firewood to hire a guy . I started back into firewood so I didn’t have to deal with hired help .

Hopefully the deck boxes pan out it was the only thing I could think of that was fairly inexpensive, quick build and yet presentable, I have my doubts about selling kindling but who knows. Perhaps if you sold unseasoned firewood it would increase your kindling sales.
That was a great idea thanks . After buying plywood , paint and hinges Ida spent the same amount pr box building them as we did buying them and it saved a bunch of time for me . That’s the best thing about RUclips is everyone has ideas and we all learn from each other. Thanks again for the idea on the deck boxes .
