  • Pool pump making loud noise. Turns out not to be the motor bearings. After buying a new pump found out it was something else.

I just purchased this system and plan to change out my current Sand filter system next season. Thanks for this video. I don't know why, but there are hardly any videos on this system. If you know of any more videos of this system, how it works, installation, usage, maintenance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for this video.

Yes. Check out my other video on repairing a leaking pump.

I have the same issue now. I actually changed the gauge and it got rid of the issue for a day or two but it came back. Any update on your problem?

Once I changed it it stopped making noise. As a matter of fact I just changed it the other day when I opened the pool because it was rusty, but it wasn't making noise. Maybe you can take it back and go to another supply house and buy a different brand. If it still makes noise it might be your motor. Good luck.

How did you fix it Im having the same issue?

I don't remember if it was screwed or if it just pops in. Go to your local pool supply store and buy it. It's about 8 to 10 bucks. If the people who work there know anything they might be able to help you.If you take the cover off you can see how it is attached. It's pretty easy. Take it with you so you get the right one. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately not true. I watched your video so I bought new Hayward. I changed it and applied the rubber washer but the noise still the same! Not sure how to solve this problem!

Well it was true in my situation. That's not the only thing that causes noise in a pump. If your bearings are no good you probably need a new pump unless you know how to change the bearings.

@@juliodavid49 Thanks for the reply. The whole noise is coming from the filter not from the pump. So I doubt this issue has anything to be related with bearings.
      My best

@@saddamzaidi880 I just re-read your previous email. You say you bought a new Hayward. A new Hayward what? And you changed it and applied the rubber washer. What rubber washer? Did you replace the gauge like I did?

@@juliodavid49 Apologize for being not clear. I replaced the Hayward pressure gauge. Before that I applied two third party pressure gauge (from Leslie; a company specializes in above ground swimming pools). The two gauge from Leslie didn’t fit but Hayward definitely did and is very sealed with the rubber washer already in place; but yet, the filter tank is still vibrating/noisy!
