Just got mine. And for its price it sound really good and usable for live situation. The only con is too light that cable can pull it off. Solution is it can be put on a compartment like a wireless transimitter and put it on your strap. 2nd option is to get a cellphone holder and smallrig clamp to a mic stand. Then paired with a wireless unit. (xvive, nux, etc ) Again for the price, the sound is pretty decent. And a lot of features for a size of a pack of cigarette.
At the risk of asking a dumb question, what are you playing it through for this video, an amp, speaker or did you record direct. Also, what would you recommend to plug into besides headphones?
@@SteveSterlacci Thanks, I really wanted to know what you recommend other than headphones for times you might be playing for someone else. I thought maybe a studio monitor would be better and leave all the Mooer modelling on, rather than go to an amp. Sorry if this is dumb, I’m not really experienced with this stuff.
@@xaj1543 For any use I would use a DI box either to an interface thats hooked up to studio monitors, or sending the DI box to an FRFR, or floor monitor/wedge. No worries! Ask away
Their new modelling guitar also looks like it uses the same technology. So, if anybody saw the GTRS and thought "I wish I had the effects as an external addon for any guitar", this is it!
Not sure why you made this video Steve. You didn't really seem to like the sounds. Honestly, the sounds you demo'd weren't particularly good, so I can see why you didn't like them. You commented on how many features it had, but never said that the features worked really well. In fact, you commented on how the drum pattern didn't sound like what it was called. Its a simple practice tool I guess, similar to the Fender Mustang Micro, but with more features. But does it sound good? Meh. If someone came out with a device that size with Helix quality sounds, and a good feature set, it would be a whole other story. But this thing seems a bit useless. And $150, while not expensive, is not cheap enough to forgive crappy amp modeling.
Dang Steve tell me how you really feel! Lol just cause it cant compete with something 3-10x times its price doesnt mean someone can't use it. If its not for you, thats okay. Its not for me, and thats okay too. But someone out there can definitely benefit from it. I appreciate you watching anyway brother!
Getting it to connect to a phone is a fucking nightmare everytime. Good luck getting to the amps and the cloud! Works 8 or if 20 sounds. That's what happens when you do it a product with an instruction manual in micro print.

I've got a mustang micro and it's great. But kind of wish I'd waited for this or the Boss pocket GT.
havent tried either to comment
I brought one , it's sounds fucking great if plugging in the audio interface or full range speaker
Its a solid little unit for sure!
Steve, nice review but I do wish you demonstrated a fendery clean sound also.
Next time!
Thanks! I got one. How do you save the presets to the Prime P1, so you have 4 of them available that you choose?
Se puede cargar IR's personales desde un disco duro a el?

I do cover that earlier in the video as far as signal chain goes. I would get the best headphones you can afford. On a budget i would suggest BASN

It seems to be the same. But the apps are quite different
is that the 'single version' of the GTRS processor?
Very similar. I do think they are
Awesome!
thanks for checking it out
sounding strong and amazingly juicy ... but in live how its as compared to POD HD 500 series or ZOOM floor processors ?
Probably not advanced enough for live us

I know some phones have settings that screw with the connection. I am on android and had very little issues with it once it became a recognized device
