    These types of practice tools are amazing. I picked up a Fender Mustang Micro about a month ago and have found myself playing daily since. It sat around the $150 (Canadian) price tag, but the amount of improvement I've seen is insane. Playing more had me pick up on more patterns, get faster and more precise. I'm not saying these are magic, but the accessibility of plugging in something small and quiet, having effects to cycle through easily, all make it that much easier to want to practice more frequwntly. All with peace of mind that you aren't making too much noise..And I would be lying if I didn't admit it's nice that no one has to hear my mistakes either!

    Great demo! I've had the MOOER for about 6 months now and learned some things from this video that I honestly didn't know it could do. I personally love the versatility of it. It's great if people in the house are sleeping and I just want to play, or maybe people are trying to watch TV. I can be in the same room as the family and not disturb them. To me, well worth the $130 I paid for it (sale). Well, well worth it. Thanks again for the great review!

    I was just looking around for something like this. I sold my practice amp and thought I’d just use my computer to practice but it was just cumbersome to carry my laptop different places with the interface and all that. This is a great solution, and cheaper then most practice amps.

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  2 года назад +4

      Yeah same. I like using plug-ins and a laptop but it’s just so much stuff anchoring you down. Like if I go on vacation, this works way better than having to setup a laptop and interface, plug into a wall, etc.

    The biggest disppointment for me is the fact everything is mono! Even if you run a backing track over bluetooth it sums that to mono too. Most of the other pocket amps are sterero and it feels like a bit of step backwards to me. Heaphones are isolating enough, why take away the stereo field that brings back some of that space?

    I had an early Rockman, but it did not hold up very well. Around 2001 I got a Korg ToneWorks (Pandora) PX4. 21 years later and it is still great. This was the days before anyone thought about smart phones, so all of the controls are on the unit. Very easy to use. Great sound. It has some effects / sounds that you just can't find elsewhere in DSP land.

    That's pretty awesome. I had a Scholz Rockman X100 about 30 years ago that I traded my neighbor's son for a Gameboy that I had and that thing turned out to be one of the greatest sounding pieces of gear I've ever owned,even to this day. I would plug a Sony Walkman into it and I could play along with cassette tapes. I could also plug it into my home stereo with an rca adapter and into my car stereo with a cassette adapter. I remember playing along with the Megadeth Peace Sells But Who's Buying album and it being eerily similar in sound. I came to find out that Chris Poland actually used one in the recording. I've also heard that Def Leopard used one in several of their songs as well. Sure wish I still had that thing. Tom Scholz was a true genius (and an MIT graduate and engineer). I read somewhere that he not only designed these units, but the first instimatic camera as well.

    I’ve bought a NUX Mighty Plug MP-2 and I cannot understand that it’s already the second version and they still forgot a volume knob. And no review was pointing that out.

    I wanna know more about that Kelly. Edit: Okay, I figured it out. From just that much of it, you can see why I so confidently called it a Jackson Kelly, and that was why I couldn't find it anywhere. Based on the logo inlay I was also assuming it was somebody's signature. So I was looking for signature Kellys and that obviously failed. For anyone else in that situation, it's a Grimoire by Deviant Guitars. And the offscreen half of the body is significantly less Kelly.

    Dude what is that guitar? o.o
    (Also, yeah, awesome pedal. It's insane what digital stuff and modelling can do nowadays and in what kind of small form factor. Wow!)

    Man, I was hoping to see how the wireless bluetooth pedal integrated with this! It would be epic if you could use the unit to change patches and the pedal to say, turn an OD pedal on/off or add some delay to give yourself a quick lead sound.

      There's a BT pedal you can purchase separately.

      @@DenisZzzzzz Yeah, I’m aware. I was trying to say that I wanted to see that in action to see how well they worked together, etc.

    I use the P1 in the FX loop of my Quilter Superblock amp on my pedalboard. It works great. I see it as a poor man's Eventide H9! Hahaha.

    Is it even possible to integrate some backing tracks audio to play along and listen both the guitar and the backing track on the headphones? Thanks for the video!

      The Yamaha practice amps have that feature. Headphone jack and an aux input for backing tracks.
