- Hi,
this is a simple pendulum. There are a lot of designs on RUclips that I'm not able to improve, so I decided to rather show the basics, feel free to look what other channels managed to do :)
Enjoy watching,

We're really close to 20k subscribers! Can we make it until next video?
Road to 100k (eventually)
ill get my frinds to sub :))) i love ur vids
@@glowytheglowbug yh they so cool
what u did with the timing of the end of the video and how you did that was spot on
If you remove the LEGO wind up element and replace it with a weight driven mechanism, the lifetime of the escapement mechanism can greatly be improved, the only limit would be how far the weight can fall before it hits the ground. Nice video!
Thanks! I tried around with it a bit, but in this case you would need a better pendulum mechanism than mine. There are some great designs on RUclips that are way better than this one, though :)

lol
I just gotta appreciate the outro being perfectly timed with the pendulum.
Finally a motor which I have! Now no one can stop me from building this!
epic
Wow, I suggested this in last week premiere, great job man! Nice usage of the pullback motor, quite some people got those, but not the electric ones, so this one is buildable for more people! Keep it up!
3:02 when you had the correct answer to a math problem bht then changed it thinking it was wrong
TRIGGERED
I always wondered, what is the slowest escapement mechanism that is possible, because yours makes 3 ticks/rotation, If you take the big grey gear, it’s like 54 ticks /rotation or however many teeth it has. Great video!
If you look around a bit on youtube, there are great designs that can run for even years (I linked one at the end screen)
I think s problem will be not enough torque, well, could add a smaller weight, it will still have better tick per rotation so good job 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
very cool, congrats on 20k subs!!!
Very good ending!
Very nice and usefull video, Thank you
Very great!
I love watching you're video
you are a professional of technic
awesome
This is quite cool! Keep up the good work

Day 3 of asking 2in1 bricking to make a LEGO BattleBot
Just please, give it a shot. I really want to see your take on the challenge
ok
You could theoretically count my newest video as a spinner... (but it would be the worst one that exists)
Ok
Как всегда от меня лайк!
do you think you could make a quick tutorial on the spider in your channel's profile picture?
:) Here it is: eu-central-1.linodeobjects.com/rebrickable-moc-bi-files/MOC-45854/bug.pdf
Haha! "Pendulum"! It's funny.
bien
You shouldn't allow energy from your storage to have input on the pendulum motion. Pendulum swing time is a function of its length, regardless of the weight. The fact that you make it slower by adding weight should tell you something's off.
I'm not into physics at all, but more weight does have at least some kind of effect, for example in flywheels etc. The only thing that stops the pullup motor from losing its energy fast is that accelerating a greater mass (which you need to do since the pendulum slows down) takes longer with constant force.
Yes, it works because it's harder for the flywheel to push it back and makes it have less of an influence on the pendulum period. Still works but hard to get precise time because that force can change over time (in case of a spring loaded mechanism, if using gravity can be constant). Still an amazing creation so kudos to you
is there any specific reason for the Y shape on the pendulum? ive seen plenty of tutorials do it and they all use the Y shape.
That's the basic escapement mechanism: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File%3AAnchor_escapement_animation_217x328px.gif
The Y-shape is a modification, which makes it easier to use without special gears
@@in1 thanks!
really cool
what is it at the bottom shelf near the end?
that's the wheel as a weight

wait…
isn’t that the middle shelf?
Haven't seen that pull back engine in a while, is it still available? I want more of em
Yep, they are in some 2022 sets: www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?itemType=P&itemNo=12787c01&in=S&v=2&oV=Y&srt=2&srtAsc=D

what is this motor and can i buy it somewhere at an affordable price?
