- The BREEDING PROJECT continues! We have seen the baby koi started to grow like a charm. They are already 30 days old, and we can start to see some nice patterns. The dark Aragoke female and the two wonderful coloured Sanke from breeder Sakai have created a beautiful set of babies.
In this KOI BREEDING PROJECT video you can watch and learn all the steps we have taken in order to successfully breed and grow out your own baby koi. Hopefully I have inspired you that Koi breeding is not extremely difficult. If we are able to do it, you will be able to do it as well!

I too have noticed for years now that my baby koi and even my big koi are very active in the evening (I used to joke that it was because they were still on Hawaii time😂) but it is true of any baby koi I have purchased or bred. I enjoy spending time with them in the evening they seem braver and more willing to hand feed at night.

I also appreciate that, when they're so small is very difficult to find information on what varieties you can expect.
It's so interesting growing koi fry, they change so much too. It won't be long before you notice 'shooters', like koi that have completely outgrown their siblings, many times their size. Loving this series, as it's been 4 years since my fish bred and I miss the little cuties !
It is surely, great to follow the process and see them develop. There are indeed some larger ones, in one of the earlier videos i noticed i even have Tobi: fry that eat the other fry! Nice that you have experienced this process by yourself before!

I was expecting any update from a long time.
But I have a question that in my pond several fishes have done Spanning a week ago.
I was stop feeding them that they should eat the Eggs.
Today I have found a lot of baby fishes swimming and I have fed them with the Egg yolk.
But I don't know what to feed them afterwards or in couple of days how to manage it because I can't separate them...?

I rebuilt my pond about 15-20 years ago to prevent them from breeding. So many years later, they started breeding. I can see two baby koi now. Please tell me what you are feeding your babies.

But i have a question please , if we do hand breeding (taking out female eggs and male sperm and mix it ) the results are the same or the natural way is better?

How'd you get them to breed in October
I would say just start adding them! They will start eating the young dapnia quite soon. But the larger ones will take some more time. Lets say at 15 days old

What exactly do you mean? Preparing the tank? It should be ready with filtration, before adding the fish in it
What is there current size?
In this video i think 3 to 4 cm / 1.5 inch on average

I'm struggling to identify males from female koi ...please help I have say from 40 cm to 15cm koi in my pond .....hi from south Africa cape town
It’s hard to tell them apart until they are mature, but females are more round and males are more slimmer in build👍🏻
