I know personally one of the best things for getting started with sliding is get a well made Cigar Box Guitar and practice with the sound plus with a CBG practice with different Tunings, Sometimes going back in History makes better future playing.

Definitely I will take your advice and I'll practice (pentatonic) scales with slide in standard tuning and maybe some improvisation with a backing track in the same way I'm doing in my regular playing. It sounds the way to go! 👌🎸

Best to start off a a fundamental guitarist and learn chord structure, progressions, and basic improvisation then get into slide playing as you actually understand the basics more. Definitely start off using open tunings then standard tuning as you progress. It takes years to learn how to get a good slide technique.
