"Perhaps you'd be interested in this beautiful suitcase made from genuine imported coconut leather." I always loved that Oliver could simply mention getting something and Haney would be right at the door with it. Excellent cast, expertly written and directed, and along with "Get Smart", the best sitcom of the '60s.

@ mike v... I couldn't agree more... I considered myself lucky because Green Acres started when I was entering Junior High and I got to watch them in their original form before they went into syndication and got cut all to hell to make room for more commercials... I'd miss church but I never missed an episode of Green Acres.
Tom Lester was the final holdout and when he died a couple of years ago they were finally able to release all the Green Acres shows on DVD... now I can again watch them in their entirety and NO commercials

No Haney actually reminds me of Obama. Except Haney didn't need a teleprompter to talk.

No, Haney was MORE honest than the inept, lying Cheeto-In-Chief!

I so HATED Mr Haney!! he's reminds me soooo much of Uncle Joe (I hated him too). Why did they have to have these lazy, no good characters on these shows anyway!!
Those who LIKED Mr Haney must be INSANE!!!! I'd love to see how YOU would react if he came to you with all his stupidity

OMG, me, too! While I liked Buttram as an actor (he was outstanding in the Alfred Hitchcock Hour episodes), I hated the Haney and Uncle Joe characters. They were both unsympathetic and unrepentant, and had no conscience. It's hard to warm up to liars and cheats.

The character is brilliant. He creates tension and he relieves it with hilarity. Like Gilligan or Barney Fife. These actors did an amazing job with a very creative script
