Agreed, Todd. Not for any gruesomeness, but for the agonizing surreal aspect. I can still hear the guttural screams during the brief part while the filmer is walking along the side of the building trying to help.
It doesn't change anything now but it infuriates me that the stupid club owners used polyurethane foams sponge for sound p;roofing round the staged area.. polyurethane was outlawed in the UK in the early 80s after its intense flammability was discovered after the Woolworth department store fire in Manchester, UK in 1979.
I agree but it think the hardest part is watching the scene's were the camera man is going from front to back of building and returns the second time and all the people trapped are burning alive.
i look forward to seeing it. this tragedy really deserves a long docu about it. those that have read into know how terrible the tragedy was and of cource those who were actually there.
Sadly the recent fire in Brazil got me thinking about the Station fire again. Is this film still being released in February (2013)? I hope to see it when it is released (or when it's accessible where I live). I'm also hoping that information in your documentary will help to stop, or help us to avoid, any more tragedies like this from happening.
The screams in the original video, I was told by people who were actually there, were actually from the people outside as they watched helplessly as their friends and family slowly burn to death. It was virtually silent inside by the time the fire reached the doorway, because people were either dead or unconcious.
Not true. The screams were from the 20 or so people caught in the doorway. What made people lose consciousness was the toxic arid smoke. The people caught in the doorway had fresh air but no way to escape the flames bearing down on them.
@@ellietaylor6940 yah it seemed like it was going to be a great production with lots of stories and different parts, but only became a 7 part series sponsored by 'tyco' .. very disappointing. i wonder if they had money or legal issues that prevented them from having a much richer documentary.
I hope this film does some good. God knows nightclub owners and the legal system aren't going to prevent future disasters. This happens on a regular basis about once a decade. Patrons the world over need to be more pro-active about their survival.
dumb fucs!!! that band. bunch of washed up druggies. what about the owners. lets let people smoke with all this foam all over the walls and ceiling it wont burn!!!
the more internet i read on this. more it seems like club setup club was going to close no money in atm machine. club not updated to code. it seems even the band got setup to take the fall .
Dave Bettencourt, thank you for putting this documentary together. God bless you.

The original video haunts me to this day.

One guy standing at the side of the stage with a full size fire extinguisher at the beginning of the show and this never happens.
Fifteen years now...
Cant find the Doc any where part of it is on you tube I guess it was never aired they said in 2015 its coming .
It's on RUclips as The Station Web Series - 7 short episodes following a few different people. I don't know if a full movie was ever released though.

The club had already been sold to another person. The scumbag Derdarians were waiting to finalize the deal. Then the fire happened before they could.
fake screams added after with special effects app.
Arsehole.
You for real??
