@@KavesReal Fair, but trinity had their share of losses this season, Sherbrooke stomped Alberta who beat trinity 3 times this year so was just not expecting this level of beatdown lol
@@Vballnut2117 TWU was never fully healthy. 2/3 matches they didn’t have Hofer or J. Elser so they played a lineup that was mostly 1st/2nd year players. Even at the Can west final with Hofer and Elser healthy their M1 wasn’t able to start. By the time nationals rolled around though and they had everyone ready to go it became clear they were the best team in Canada
#12 on the 1:41 spike reminds me of what Paul Sunderland said about Evandro being a terminal player who scores points for his own team and often for the other team. #12 swings like its lights out, every time.
Would imagine it’s frustrating as a coach but he still hit over 30% at the tournament. With how Trinity seems to value spacing they probably tell him to go all out to free up their LS attack
The way the guys were hyping up the Sherbrooke team in their post game conversations I would have thought this would have been closer. After watching the TWU vs MAC game I thought that should have been the finals but held out hope that the finals would be close because they were hyping the Green and Gold so much.
Honestly everyone thought the Finals were going to be closer - TWU played their best game of the season at the best possible time, and Sherbrooke just couldn't handle the heat. Was watching a bit of the match with Preston, and he was as shocked as anyone about how dominant TWU was an how bad Sherbrooke was.
Green and Gold really underperformed compared to their other games.. Lots of very unusual errors and very tough time on serve receive. (Then again, pretty hard to receive TWU's bombs from the service line, a ton of aces in the last foot of the court too)
i just rewatched the video while focusing only on number 12 and he got like 5 sets, Portelance is a great setter so im guessing that he focused on Yoan Zach and Vanier and that made 12 less confident. he did well enough defensively though so having him on was probably not much of a liability
@@whohappened You can see TWU Block cheated a ton when he was there. He was avg defensively in this game . They need an upgrade if they wanna win it all next year.
That's just not his role in the team. They have better hitters and if you look at the other games he's a super strong receiver, defender and server. Definitely a bad game for him in the final.
Same feeling, I think if he is in the team is because they don't have the choice. After all he is good, but next too other players he looks no at level need for this final
Never seen such a blowout in the national finals before
to be fair, twu has 3 national team players on the roster lol. hofer is insane

@@Vballnut2117 I mean Alberta also has national team players. But they looked like they were ready to go home before the Semi final.

Quebec is one of the weakest region in Canadian volleyball. We were as surprised to see them in the finals as you were lmao

This one wasn't close
Sherbrooke number 12 is so bad offensively. They also had 0 energy.
