    Good enough and then some! Great build. If you hear cat meows from the blue barrel you know what happened. :D

    You should have some large mesh over the fan inlet in case any plastic or large wood goes up and into the fan it doesn't just explode 😅
    And make a box around the motor/fan with some insulation to reduce noise some more even tho it is pretty quiet it's always nice to get a little more silent 😁
    And have a grounding wire to the cyclone and air pipes with a few screws through it to the inside to prevent static

    Jhon, please make sure to run a ground on your system so you don’t create a bomb. Wood dust and pvc will create a lot of static, aka “Fire hazard”. You have to collect be able to dump that charge by poking a few holes to collect that charge and disperse it safely. Besides that man, you did an amazing job, and I’m very impressed! Happy wood working! 👊🤙

      Thank you Mike for remind me of that, I will do as you suggested on my system

    I think you will be very happy with your design.. I am impressed with it's performance. You saved yourself a small fortune, and have something that works perfectly. And, you can always find someone who will purchase it, if you ever need to upgrade to a larger unit in the future. I would,,, just because it is "Shop Made", and looks like it was made by someone with a purpose.. Ha..Ha.. Nice Job.. Looking forward to more of your videos.. They are excellent.

    hi jhon, i've just watched your dust collection videos and i am very impressed, i'm a stone sculptor and need a simple one inlet dust extraction system. do you think your design would be suitable for my purpose?

    You did a great job
    I want to make one like your but mount it outside in its own area
    I have a small shop

  • @AndrewFroude
    @AndrewFroude 10 месяцев назад

    Congratulations. Good outcome. I hope it helped keep the dust in the shop to a mimimum. Question: Are you adding an earth wire to the plastic ducting to stop static electricity build up?

    • @jhonarief
      @jhonarief  10 месяцев назад

      I add earth wire only on cyclone body

    Great result Jhon, glad to hear the suction power is still food at the very end of the duct hose. Pretty impressive achievement with a DIY system powered by a 1HP motor.
    I’d be interested to know the difference if you use a 3HP motor, should you find one to test 😉

    • @jhonarief
      @jhonarief  2 года назад +1

      yes i want to try it too with 3 HP Make the Impeler slightly big. Maybe 35 cm in diameters and 10cm width blade That would be interesting. Result. But sadly 3HP kind of expensive for me right now

    I'm starting my own small wood workshop and your videos are a nice inspiration. Thanks for all your efforts!
    Ps: The audio levels when you do voiceover (I imagine it is recorded during editing) make it very hard to hear you, try to lower the volume of the background video when doing voiceover.
    Best regards from Brazil! 🇧🇷

    I think if you had blast gates on all of the y pieces just at each branch would help keep the velocity up. There's a great website by Bill Pentz about dust collectors and design

    That's a damn effective dust collector! With that speed at the far end with a 3 inch tubing you are getting around 950 CFM there. It's far more than most 1 HP commercial dust collectors!

    so it is regular sweage water pipes? do the joint have rubber gasket?
    technical comment for improvement: once dust collector is running we couldnot hear you well, better have that issue future solved.
    great video as always. thank you and best luck
