Encouraging to hear the new damper is a good upgrade! Few days ago I sold my 2 year old charger3 zeb for 450€ and ordered a new 3.1 Zeb for 699€. I weighted if I would just do the damper internals upgrade for 80€ or get a new unit. In the end I splurged over to a new one to get also the better bushing tolerance. Price difference would have been minimal since I would have needed to purchase at least the vice jaws and crows foot to do the the damper service myself. Also I think I will prefer the screw-type relief valves, the push-in buttons always squirt some oil to the fingertip / glove.
Careful with adding psi and taking out compression... its actually the opposite that is typically needed. Nice video~!!! I have to agree the 3.1 is so much better than previous, im 170lbs, using 1 token, 180mm and just luvin this fork. Im running 1 click less HSC and 2 less LSC from the middle.
Nice job! I have a new 2025 Pike Ultimate 3.1 that is the best fork I have ever ridden... I hated, and I do mean hated my 2022 Pike Ultimate Charger 3. I'm currently at 3psi over recommended pressure with rebound at recommended and HSC -1 and LSC -1. I was surprised a bit that you didn't try +1/-1 HSC on your bracketing as I found a pretty big difference on my Pike. Quick question, are head on collisions a big problem on your trails with pedal assist riders climbing up?
@@ThunderStruckMTB Thanks for the compliment. In regards to HSC, when the Rockshox forks used a bladder instead of IFP, high and low speed would overlap a little bit, and I definitely had to do bracketing for HSC. Now that they are independent, I could tell right away from just jumping up and down on the bike in my driveway where the proper setting was going to be. This fork is feeling so great, but now it makes me want to get rid of the Pike on my Tallboy, and get the new new Pike for it.
To get my zeb 180 3.1 to feel gooe-bike. The rough I have to run 60-65 psi. That's about 20 psi less than what they recommend for me. I'm 220 on an ebike. I also added 2 tokens. Surprisingly it's still supportive and doesn't sit into the travel. Idk maybe my shock pump is broken. It feels really good though , better than my old 2.1 lyrik.
I found some drops and steeper stuff and the pressure was too low for me. Bumped up to 80psi (about 10psi less than recommended) and 4 tokens. Open on hi and low comp. Actually feels so good now. Rides higher and still feels good over rough stuff.
@@AntonisG. Sorry I took so long to respond. Right now I have 1 token; the larger diameter in the stanchions cause more ramp than the Lyrik so I feel like I need fewer (I had 2 in the old Lyrik). For sag, I’m running 30% with all my weight in the fork.
@@dansrockgarden8921 what really I’m looking who have experience with it’s the same fork what you have on a bike. Because I have the same fork and I do not have knowledge to do that. And I do not ask for free ☝️
I have the same fork with the Charger 3 on both my Megatower and Turbo Levo. It’s so dialed in my Levo, but just doesn’t feel right on the Megatower. Wondered if it’s the extra eBike weight? I’m huge at 100 lbs more riding weight than you. I’m sold on the upgrade and just subscribed 👍
@@BryantKHill Thanks for the comment, and welcome to the channel! 🤙🏼 The VERY few times I did get full travel were on big g-outs and drops, but I only got full travel maybe 2 times. My guess is the same as yours; the weight of the e-bike helps that fork with the Charger 3 get through its travel easier.

@@Maeili I found a world of difference with the new damper, and I hope it improves your ride. 👍

ended up around 115-120 psi 0 tokens open on hsc and lsc.
@@InfiniteVibrationthey recommend to add 10psi on top of your normal psi for e-bikes, so that makes sense.
Finally how many clicks minus from the middle do you use for LSC?

How much sag do you use ??? And how many tokens?
