    I have the Silent Base 802 and it's absolutely lovely.

      I have one too, and am very satisfied of it. My only 2 complaints are about radiator support :
      - At the top, the locking system for the panels prevent the user to easily sandwich fans and radiator to each side of the removable bracket, rendering it incopatible with 420 mm rad, even if the lenght of the case would allow it otherwise
      - At the front, the rad cuttout at the psu shroud is too small, and nod square, the few mm of difference between the eges pf the cut and the middle of it kills the support for radiators thicker than 50-52mm.

    Great review, spot on, thank you for the upload! Fwiw, this is, at the moment, probably the best case I know of available on the market. I was unaware that it's possible to install an optical drive on this case, thanks very much for providing that info! It's a great case, one that I'd likely choose if was to build a desktop today. Only problem I'm afraid I'd run into is being unable to find chassis with a solid side panel, it'd likely be far easier finding one with tempered glass. I'd wait to find one with a solid side panel, no rgb lights on fans, just an elegant, well built case with a solid side panel. Unable to find it, I'd likely resort to the Silent Base series, or something else altogether.

    Great review as always. I have the same complain about reset buttons. Just why? :-(

      Because "muh RGB". But I can't blame them for that, that sh!t drives sales.
      I can't tell how much customers I see in my line of work just wanting RGB because "it makes light" even if it mean they choose a litteral plastic oven, with acrylic everywhere, and no opening in the front for air, and then putting their PC on my counter, complaining "it shuts down 10 minutes after I start to play almost any game ! Do something !"

      @@lamikal2515 aesthetics over performance, unfortunately.

    3:20 I too am a castor aficionado and I solved the problem 20 years ago with some spare ones removed from broken furniture and a plank of wood.
    Since that every case has been on castors.

    What are the sizes (width and length) of the front fan spacers?

    • @HardwareBusters
      @HardwareBusters  5 месяцев назад

      Will have to open the box, remove the chassis and measure these, which is difficult this period. Will ask a colleague in the lab if he remembers anything, but I doubt so since we reviewed this case a long time ago (we made the vid later).

      @@HardwareBustersokay, thank you anyway. Maybe you can answer my following question because I can't find this information anywhere on internet. Did you hear any turbulence noise during testing? Hardware Canucks mentions this in their YT review on the Fractal North XL. I want a silence focused build but fans mounted behind the bracket negate this purpose completely. I had this issue in the P600s, after 20/30% fanspeed with Silent Wings 4 140mm I got horrible turbulence in the case. Because there are not many cases that meet my demands (great build quality, top can be closed off, hinged doors, silenced and air cooling focused) I am looking at the 901 or P600s again but with using spacers in the front. I seriously can't understand why Be Quiet chose this fan bracket on the 901 vs the 701...
