I've never thought of it that way even tho i suffer from OCD and it actually puts into perspective my other struggles as well. 10:30 this hit so close to home. literally this. this makes it so hard to deal with obsessive thoughts and spirals because i feel so alienated from everyone trying to comfort me because i am convinced they mean well, but i don't feel addressed by what they're saying because i'm thinking "yeah, well, that sounds awesome and so on, but it hasn't got to do anything with me because i'm actually so much worse than what you're describing so this doesn't apply to me, i'm not allowed to relax into the comforting words".
and like, this doesn't solve that problem, but it made me feel so seen and, at least in some way, relieved.

I have crippling ocd that has made me believe that I was going to hurt ( family, kids, pets, strangers) even tho I didn’t want to. To any one else going through it my heart goes out to you! OCD is hell I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. But for me with most days I don’t struggle with it as bad or at all. If I would have told myself that three years ago when I struggled with a severe intrusive thoughts and the core belief I was a bad person where I am today I wouldn’t believe myself. I know the isolation that comes with ocd but you can get through it because I am too. I still have bad days but I know who I am and I know that it will get better. You’re not alone you’re not a bad person and you don’t deserve to feel guilty scared or ashamed

I feel you, I've been there it's pure hell, I navigated through various types of subtopics of pure OCD and I thought there was no end to it that I would be trapped in it forever, but I somehow got out of it (or to phrase it better I'm getting out of it, I'm in the last stages). If you're feeling stuck and hopeless trust me there is a way out! You were not like this before OCD hit you, which means you can go back to the person you were before, there's no doubt about that! Nothing lasts forever this includes OCD too. Sure intrusive thoughts will always be around but that doesn't mean OCD will be there too! You can beat this monster I promise you!
There are some channels here that help people recover from this, the one that I follow the most is Ali Greymond's "You have ocd" channel. She's not a therapist, she's a life coach and she's been though it so she knows what she's talking about. Her method is quite unconventional, but pretty effective if you're diligent enough to follow it, it has worked for me, but I had to pair it with other methods as well. What I can suggest you is to do your own research and find what works best for you, but be prepared that it will not be a linear path, you will doubt yourself and the therapy more times than your can count, but f you keep going I promise you'll get out of it! Best of luck my friend, you can do this, I believe in you!

      @msmiabobia 3 месяца назад +1

@@TCC4118not scream, they’re similar, but OCD and Anxiety are closely related and have common characteristics and symptoms of Paranoia/Schizophrenia. The behavior shows signs of “worrisome thoughts,” but getting proper help like going through therapy with a psychiatrist and or doing therapy can really help a person resolve and recognize their thoughts aren’t the same as them. You can control what’s going on, and then lead to better thoughts. That will lead to better emotions, which ends off on better behaviors. It all depends on how you think. It’s called Cognitive Triangle Method/Thinking, it got me through some really hard times where I had horrible thoughts and was in a paranoid state all day/night long. Anyone reading this should try it out if you’re struggling with Anxious thoughts or even OCD.

Even if I did all the things, did everything "right" I can't guarantee that it will work out". I'm learning to accept that I'm human and as a human I'm entitled to get it "wrong" and or make a mess ❤. Life is messy. Period. As an artist I invite myself to make a mess every single day. To give you more information: Obssesive compulsie disorder is having intrusive thoughts in a chronic way (What if someone is going to kill me right now, what f I'm going to kill this person next to me etc etc). To cope with those thoughts, the mind invents obsessions (doubting some things, obsessions with symmetry and so on) and compulsions (not everyone has them but the one that seems to be the most prevalent is checking if the door is closed, but there are many more: having to perform certain rituals everyday around a certain action like having to turn around when you go out, putting clothes several times, washing several times and so on). Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is the most efficient treatmebt for the disorder. Hope this helps.
If you can't have a treatment (see a therapist) because of XYZ, let me just tell you: the intrusive though are phobia and impulse phobia, they are phobia and do not reflect who you are. Also you should never try not to do the compulsions if you have them, if you do them, it's because your psychy has do to it to reduce the intrusive thoughts.
      Good luck.

This heavily effects my life in almost every way. I don’t give myself any grace. i have struggled years since 2018/2019 a lot with OCD, especially contamination at the point where i was literally cleaning with hand sanitizer my fork before eating and id eat food that tasted like hand sanitizer, my hands were like an 80 yr old hands, i washed my hands for over an hour sometimes even three hours, i had to do tasks 15-31-41 times and a lot of other things. Now im doing really well, I learned how to manage the anxiety, forcing exposure (from lowest to highest triggers ofc) saved me. I never had support for years (people calling me crazy, arguing everyday with loved ones), but now, im grateful for my ocd, even if it destroyed a part of my life. Because without it i wouldn’t have a really good insight, i wouldn’t be able to understand my mind. For whos struggling like me in the past: you are not your thoughts, you can have power over them (ik its hard but u can), you MUST seek help, meditate, and EXPOSURE. Wishing you all the happiness, and hope yall one day will understand how important this journey is.

This is so comforting and calming. I think you have a very anti-anxiety presence, and I have several anxiety disorders so I appreciate that 😁 I gotta say I was a bit shocked by all the sexualizing comments, hope they don't makes you feel bad. Best of luck with your channel! Lots of love from Sweden ☀️🦭

This is a really good video about OCD. I’ve had it since I was nine, diagnosed when I was 21. Used to have it so bad in middle school that it caused fainting. It comes and goes depending on my anxiety levels. This week it’s been particularly bad and I knew you had some OCD related videos so I tried this one and it actually calmed me down a lot. It’s the sincerity combined with comfort, it makes us listeners feel like we’re talking about it with someone who understands. Sometimes that’s very helpful. Thank you ❤️

I wanna say thanks so actual much! I DIEEEEE with OCD and ADHD every single day of 19 years on lifeee. And it can sometimes be a living nightmare to get to sleep literally. I just searched “Asmr for OCD” and I saw this I was like soothing, aesthetic, neat good! It helped me a lot recently with sleep and when I’m trying to be peaced without literally thinking I gotta reorganise my whole room this really helps me. I also get all these very intrusive rude thoughts every night of every year and I have tried therapy,My mum, everything but every night now idk how but this really helps me with intrusive thoughts. Some ppl just use your talking for Asmr and sleep but I use it for those AND I can just hear what your saying that really nice and calm.
    Crazy regards, Jordyn
Ps: THANKS SO MUCH THANKS I LOVE DA ASMR
Pss: I knew every one was gonna have a fight in the stupid comment section

Everyone said I looked physically ill and was asking if I was okay. Its started becoming more like background noise now that I can tune in and out of as long as I keep distracted, but your videos wouldve helped so much during the worst of it. Youre amazing thank you for your content!

"You can doubt the core of who you are." Excellent phrasing.
I was formally diagnosed with OCD in 2019, though I've dealt with it since childhood. I finally sought therapy because the fear and uncertainty made it very hard to leave my home. For anyone reading this, I highly recommend Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. I did this, along with Zoloft, and it gave me the tools to fight my OCD monster. I am so much better now.
Thanks for discussing this misunderstood illness.

Awesome video. I definitely have OCD but I see some positives in it also. I have an important job where if I make a mistake, people can die. OCD means it is almost impossible for me to make a mistake but it takes a huge toll on me to achieve that standard and I can’t see how I will last in this field for much longer

Huh I never rly thought abt ocd this complexly like ik it was just organization but I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was 6-7 and I’ve tried the medicines and therapy but even when I had those none of it ever helped honestly there have been time where I would have episode when I would break down and not move, sleep, use the br or eat bc something small happened and when I told my doctor they would just tell me I was depressed (like no shit) and none of them have even brought this up to me so this is definitely something I’ll be looking into. Thank U ml ur an Angel 🫶🏼

This was great. I’ve been talking to a therapist about intrusive thoughts and we’re both in agreement that it’s very likely I have OCD. I’ve been living with so much guilt and shame and feeling disgusted with myself for at least 8 years, doubting everything, second guessing, and the more I read about OCD the more I’m like, that is EXACTLY how I feel. I feel vindicated in my own mind but it’s been very emotional realising just how hard I’ve been on myself when my thoughts and compulsions have been beyond my control. I truly felt like I was beyond help so if there’s anyone who feels like they’re too far gone and there’s no way out, please know that things can get better. And this is coming from someone who I used to get zero comfort from ppl who said that. Thank you so so much for doing this, defo subscribing 🫶🏼
