Eating delicious bahn mi sitting on the ground by the side of the road is my idea of a good time-will have to do it vicariously through you till I make my way there. It's a bit comforting to see you doing your thing even when you aren't familiar with the language, since that's certainly how I'll be winging it in Thailand! Even through the language it was great to see the warmth and small gestures of kindness from the people you interacted with-from the stranger who made sure to get you a chair, to the employee who wanted you to know who the *real* boss was. It sounds like you have the coriander soap gene. Yes, it's a real thing. lol The funny part is that it usually turns those people off from anything with coriander but it seems that you actually enjoy the soapy taste 😂
Btw...I heard that a baby cries somewhere in the world every time someone breaks a Banh Mi in half.
Haha I know that's a thing as my sister in law has it but this isn't coriander. Look up Laksa herb
I like fresh herbs. All are good. The only thing I ever came across that tasted like soap is Nutmeg. Yuk!

IF you like banh mi or bread give it a chinese meatballs hoagie a try it is called, banh mi xiu mai (ground pork with spices, water chestnuts tomatoes sauce etc kick it off another knotch with cheese) is outta this world...
Ummm...Gary mentioned that he doesn't like meatballs though.
One of my favourites!
Let me clarify Panna...I don't like processed meatballs, or more specifically, fish balls that aren't homemade. I do love a good homemade meatball 😃
