      I just found Gary but have been following Max more than a year. You guys are awesome ( and Chris too). Gary, you probably the first one to make entirely video of Bánh Mì. ❤️ To me Bánh Mì is the best sandwich in the world. I love Bánh Mi, my second favorite Vietnamese food, only behind Bún Bò Huế, which Max really loves it. Thanks for making videos of my country. Love from California, USA.

    That grilled marinated pork looks yum. One of the reasons I love Vietnam is their food. Enjoy exploring and trying out local cuisine. Da Nang is the place to be if you want to be away from the polluted atmosphere in the big cities, but still want to enjoy a city’s convenient modern life.

    Eating delicious bahn mi sitting on the ground by the side of the road is my idea of a good time-will have to do it vicariously through you till I make my way there. It's a bit comforting to see you doing your thing even when you aren't familiar with the language, since that's certainly how I'll be winging it in Thailand! Even through the language it was great to see the warmth and small gestures of kindness from the people you interacted with-from the stranger who made sure to get you a chair, to the employee who wanted you to know who the *real* boss was.
    Thanks for the great video Gary!

      @@theroamingcook No relation in words whatsoever . In English if you want new words you add more syllables. In Vietnamese if you want new words you add in the diacritic signs, so Vietnamese looks complicated but the vocabulary is very limited compare to English.

    I would also like a banh mi sandwich with warm meat, I think, it looks a lot like a france pita sandwich. Only a banh mi is with vegetables from Asia, and here they use salads, carrots and tomato. But between those Banh mi there is very little meat . WAT, don't you like mayo,, I can't miss it on my fries and between my baget. haha, the chicken looks like sheep wool. But the banh mi with ham looks good.

    I was in Danang last July and sadly missed the first spot you tried. Banh Mi Balan was just okay for me overall. Of all the 4 Banh Mi places I tried in the area, I really enjoyed Banh My Ong Phu Dat probably because of the deep minced fried pork stuffed inside the baguette.
    Still, for me the best Banh Mi spots are found in Hoi An and Saigon. The Banh Mi sandwiches in Danang and Hanoi were just fine and nothing memorable. 🤷🏻

      @theroamingcook  2 года назад

      The first spot was great. I’d love to have tried the fried pork one you had 🙏
      It’s definitely down to personal preference though as the famous ones in Hoi An weren’t to my taste at all. I’ll agree Saigon are the best

    It sounds like you have the coriander soap gene. Yes, it's a real thing. lol The funny part is that it usually turns those people off from anything with coriander but it seems that you actually enjoy the soapy taste 😂
    Btw...I heard that a baby cries somewhere in the world every time someone breaks a Banh Mi in half.
