Heart: omg I want it so bad
Wallet: actually I'm on board with this one too
Your wallet wouldn't fit on the board it's too small.
@@treyheaney9483 gotteem
@@treyheaney9483 haha
Oh yeah, time for some project upgrades
Yes
Hi
lol
Hi LGR
Raspberry pi foundation: no RP4 this year
Also Raspberry pi foundation: new raspberry pi 4!!
@@asm2750 ... or they want to sell more Pi3 units 😏
All in all, I'm glad there is a Pi4 /w GbE & USB3 for my next NAS!
According to their blog post they gave the release date in 2020 as Broadcom releases revisions like A0, B0, C0. They planned to used the C0 as it'd be the most mature one.
But B0 turned out to be production ready so they just released Pi 4 with B0.
@@eerereps What services do you have in your raspberry as NAS? and why would de you update itself? i'am no judging, is just curiosity because i only have DLNA server, FTP, Torrent download server and not much more.
Sorry for my bad english.
@@eerereps Definitely selling more pi3. That was an underwhelming unit when all 2018 phones had 2gb+ of ram.
Seems like they allowed for more debugging time but the new chip was finished ahead of schedule.
Double displays, Gigabit Ethernet, More RAM, USB C Power, USB 3.0... Sweet!
Oh, you watched the video too!?
MidStick not only more ram, the pi 3 B has 1GB as well, but faster ram considering the pi 3 b had ddr2 and here we zoom to ddr4
What's so great about USB C?
Actually triple because of the ribbon thing for touchscreen
That’s what I love about raspberry pi. They said there wouldn’t be any RPI4 this year, but, as they were able to make it happen, they did. Unlike other companies that would just wait it out for no reason.
They did the same thing with Pi 5 lol
All those coffee mugs next to the bare, exposed pi make me so anxious
THANK YOU
same here
Its only $35 lol
people who are smart and cant afford a decent laptop for college or university I have found a solution
Thx
raspberry pi laptop?
Thank you god.
ty god
technically you could do some school work on it
Why does my pocket whisper something like "buy it bro"... Pockets these days are weird. Seems like they want to buy everything.
start keeping money in the bank, this will cause your pockets to lose the power of free speech ;)
my brains are saying:
buy it. hack wifi. just. do. it.
@@bigemugamer banks are outdated.
Tfw you have a 4k monitor, but are using a $55 computer lol
Raspberry.Pi.Digital.Signage.
Actually you can buy pretty cheap monitors, and it is UP TO 4K, not 4K only, also - TV Box alternative :)
i have 4k too but using 1080p its faster good old 800x60 is even faster i kill everyone before they even see me coming becouse they play 4k and lack of frames and delay lol
@@jarisipilainen3875 that's a good idea but playing at a resolution of 1x1 is way faster
Well I was thinking the same thing
We are big brains😎
Can't wait to see what they do with Retro Pi
better n64 emulation? I WANNA PLAY GOLDENEYE ON THAT THING GEEEE
1 game on one display and command line on other. Perfect
I want to make a Nintendo switch with it
Weird to say about a computer that is famous for being remarkably small, but... It's so small! Super hyped!
Honestly, if they could find a way to get graphics cards much smaller, we could have switch sized gaming pc's. Would be fucking dope.
@@lilfgaming6359 Well... we sort of do have those already... Look up "GPD Win 3"
Theres also the older, less powerful version... "GPD Win 2"
Alienware is also trying one called the "Alienware UFO"
also its very cheap too.
This is definitely a reasonable Desktop PC replacement for daily use. Can't wait to own one. Much love from South Africa.
Almost wanted to buy a Banana Pi a few weeks ago.
That's quite a sweet upgrade
Now I can stay true to the Raspberry Pi :D
I think you should wait a few days for the benchmarks if you care about raw speed
Get 4gb ram model
Finally 4gb ram & usb 3.0!!
mrbulp ODROID H2 can be upgraded to 32GB of DDR4 RAMs
@@userjff182 where did you see that?
@@userjff182 first of all, RAM doesn't need an 's' on the end. Second of all, that computer is well over $100 dollars.
isnt it 100$ for 4 gigs of ram
Awesome how far the Pi has come. 4k display is huge!!
*Thank you Raspberry Pi Foundation! Very cool!*
bruhhhh
raspberry pi is the future
yea boiiiiiiiiiiiii
this will replace phones some day
2100: Raspberry Pi 16 (128 - 512 gigs of ram, 6 USB 6.1 and USB C ports, Bluetooth 12.0, Supports three 16K HDMI 20.0 ports, and more customizable overall)
I keep looking at the date to make sure it’s not April 1st, and I keep looking at this video and various product pages to verify I’m not dreaming it... It appears that this must, in fact, be real.
I sure hope so, since I just bought one.
Oh damn! That connectivity! That ram!
for this cheap price!!! what the (beep) I'm not dreaming right?? this is true !!
@@xxx_gambler1954 There's better versions for more money. It starts at 35 and ends at 55.
It also seems like they are now using a proper (PC grade or rather good tablet grade) DRAM chip.
But 4gb version costs 80 bucks
Very exciting! Hopefully the micro HDMIs aren't too fragile. Type C is awesome!
Micro HDMI has been fine on everything I've owned. I honestly prefer it over full sized.
Raspberry pi 5: 2.5 GHz processor, 8gb ram, 5Ghz wireless internet, 4 USB 3 ports, external drive booting, 90 MB/s SD transfer speed, improved SD card thermals, GPIO pins compatible with graphics cards, and a single freaking case that has GPIO access would make the -sexiest- best Raspberry pi at least for me rn.
The clostest is the 8 GB Pi4 with a 2 GHZ overclock and the EEPROM update for USB boot
from 300$))
Now if they made a stronger version of this, thats like this one except its 60 bucks with two of those cpu's and 8 gigs of ram, you can choose between the other options depending on your needs. While still offering the 35 dollar one and 0 mini computer. That be sweet.
It's 8 gigs now, and it can boot off of an external usb storage (but still one cpu)
Ordered the 4gb one, Can't wait to have it!
What are you using it for?
What a great thing to wake up to, I've already got my order placed for the 4GB model!
I got a retro pi and I love it. Maybe later on I'll get a Pi4. I kinda wish someone would build a retro x86 machine that does 8088/8086/286/386/486/Pent MMX at the flip of a switch or software setting to run old DOS games at the hardware level instead of in emulators. I can only imagine older computers shrunk down to the Pi's level with true Sound Blaster support and all.
R.I.P. Amlogic/Rockchip tv boxes ...
I grabbed the Pi 4 8gb and havent looked back. So many case options I cant stop myself lmfao Love you Pi Guys
This is awesome! Can't wait!
That Pilot Custom 74 though... 👌
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that paused on that. :)
We love a good pen.
Does it finally come with the coffee?
Hahahaha, no, not yet.
@@raspberrypi At least the mug please!
Raspberry Pi - how about just the cup?
No mugs no coffee but come with the girl
My birthday was on Thursday. I was supposed to buy a model 3 on Friday but I hesitated for some unknown reasons and now BOOM HERE COMES THE MODEL 4 and I’m totally gonna buy it as soon as possible. So I’m glad I waited a bit 🤠
I would prefer a full size hdmi port, the micro hdmi ports looks too fragile.
Another benefit I anticipate to shrink the size of desktop computers is that e-waste will occupy much less space for the recycling centers in the future.
Wow, it's not April 1st... I think this is real.... This is absolutely awesome!
you had this too ? when i first saw the news about the pi4
this morning i almost guessed .. april 1st ?
ohno it is june , what?
Finally a device that I have that doesn’t have differences between everybody else’s and mine
Add an M.2 NVME adapter(hat) and you'd have a pc.
It only has a single lane of pcie and that's used for usb 3.0 you can't just put nvme ssd on something that doesn't have any pcie lanes to spare. It was only 1x anyway and nvme m.2 needs 4x. Unless you're talking about a usb to m.2 adapter, but that wouldn't be a hat.
Dad can I have a computer?
Dad: Thats too expensive I'll buy you a better one
(The computer your dad buys you):
This is pretty much a full desktop computer and using only 8 watts. No noisy fans required and small size. Seems like an exponential improvement.
What a time to be alive
Get up, stand up. Stand up for your pi.
The music gives a fire sale vibe 😉
And just when I bought a Pi 3 Model B+...But that's OK, I was planning to use it for LED projects, and now I can get the Pi 4 to use with Retro Pie and run more demanding arcade games!
i have Raspberry Pi 4 (4 GB RAM version)
and it is awesome
Finally 5 years later a raspberry-pi gets USB3 to compete with Odroid SBCs. Still the Odroid-N2 with 12nm and it's awesome heatsink is cooler than the rpi4 with 28nm and no heatsink. Let's see how the software evolves.
What a bargain. Also, the melody in the ad is the Bob Marley "Stand up for your rights" bit.
Fantastic. I have to hand it to you, PiPeeps, you make some seriously impressive tech. (It seems) the entire world is entranced by thousand dollar phones and thousands of dollars computers, and they're all missing the big (small) picture. Lots of parenthesis and some stellar power. Take my money.
Forget those, I'm just entranced to buy that $1,000 monitor stand from Apple!
=))
Wow! 4GB RAM!
Maybe it can open like, 7 chrome tabs
Imagine a Ryzen SoC based Raspberry Pi
Sounds like a beast, can't wait to make my own Nintendo switch with the 2 micro hdmis! Should be fun.
but can it finally play nintendo 64 roms...
Pretty sure since the GPU supports OpenGL ES 3.x and higher clock speeds.. Probably needs some tweaking and an implementation from developers.
I manage to run N64 ROMs with texture packs just fine... ...but, I had to play with the emulator/shader/etc. combinations to solve some trouble games. So basically the exact same situation as Project 64. Yaaaaaaay.
Why is this not on trending?
Just waiting for it to be on Amazon... This has potential!
Will be buying one soon, Micro Center informed me as soon as the announcement dropped; Can't wait 'til next month now!
Got mine on order but have to wait 4 weeks for delivery. I can wait :-)
I use my RPI2B as a NAS drive with 3 usb drives so switching to usb 3.0 should be a nice increase in file copy speeds.
Are you saying I can make my blinking LED lights run more efficiently?!?!? TAKE MY MONEY!
Also underclock and undervolt the Pi to run it more efficiently
2 4k outputs? How does it handle compression at 30/60 fps? Or is it only displays and not 4k streaming/replay?
I highly doubt it could handle streaming at 4k... I could be wrong though.
Both micro HDMIs have 4K support. If you use one, the pi runs at 60 FPS, if you use both, it runs on 30
It supports dual 4k displays, the Cortex-172 cores do support H.265 4k 60fps decoding but surely managing dual displays with simultaneous decoding at 60fps will take it to the limit.
@@Eratix that's what I'm thinking. My i3 struggling with 4k RUclips. Fine ripping it with youtube-dl first.
I imagine it outputs true 4k but you might have performance issues playing a 4k video vs scrolling a 4k webpage.
I like how this video is actually available in 4K too. :D
Thank God Apple didn't make it. Apple would have charged $3500 for the same piece.
Apple lacks shear intention. They are the dacoits of the tech world. Including other big players.
Damn. This things a space ship.
How did I miss this!!
I mean really, how could you not love this?
UGG... so sad ='(
After months and months of contemplation, I finally spent a small fortune on, and received less than a week ago, a Pi 3b+, a nespi case+, a 256 gb micro sd card and other peripherals only to have that joy and happiness crushed... utterly CRUSHED... by the release of the Pi4 (4gb version) If I had known a new Pi that could possibly run 128 bit consoles better was coming, I would have waited an extra 7 days.
A little upset over the lack of full size HDMI. It was so convenient in the last few models.
Just get an adapter to use it on a standard monitor
How about add SSD support out of the box? SD cards are getting on my nerves...
Thank you sooo much raspberry pi. I got the 8GB RAM Version and it's great.
and what chipset? and no sata or m2 slot?
I love your Product and Company idea!!!
Retropie needs this!
Tbh, this is better than my phone
Great device, can't wait to order it once Amazon have it in stock!
Why not order it from our Approved Resellers today? www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b/
but can it run Crysis?
It can, actually - just meets the minimum system requirements for Crysis 1.
yes............ (no)
Well yes but actually not
@@iwiffitthitotonacc4673 Yeah but someone would first need to port it to Linux and the arm64 architecture. ARM is very different to x86
@@willbeonekenobi people have run win10 with x86 emulation support on the pi 3, but it was pretty bad. I bet with some tweaks it would be playable, assuming a faster SOC on the 4.
I'll buy 10 of them and build minimalist computers for my friends. Holy fuck that's awesome.
very excited to buy it and i was waiting for this one because i need some more ram memory so
thank u raspberry pi company and team to designed it
Oh my god everything about this is beautiful
Went for an RPI 2 at Currys PC world when they first released asked the guy in the store you have any Raspberry Pi's guy looked at me like I was asking for food lol.
Why did I just now get this on my recommended? I already have one
If we now would get a beautiful, energy efficient mechanical Pi Keyboard in a fitting colour scheme thos would be perfect
I'm speechless.
Excellent specs and looking forward to getting my hands on one, or two, or three.....
Raspberry Pi 4 has micro HDMI. Note before making a purchase - www.factoryforward.com/difference-between-raspberry-pi-hdmi-port-types/
It is not available in previous Pi versions. So grab those too along with your Pi 4 instead of waiting for it.
Not gonna lie, this is a very Apple-esque commercial. Not complaining though! Super hyped!
dudes thank you. i plan on buying the pi4 this year somewhere
Is anybody working on getting Android or Android TV to run on this? Hardware is more than capable for it.
i LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT THE RASBERRY PI 3B+ TODAY WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
return it!
rip
same dude ...
Lmao
Same, got mine last week >:(
Any news on the Pi 5??
There aren't any retailer in my country. Where can I order this internationally? I need the 4GB version along with the case and the power supply. Thanks.
But can it run Crysis?
Small joke, the processor and the ram storage it's closely what we could get back in 2004 but cheaper and smaller, good job.
I am getting this one
How did you guys not announce this on june 28th aka 6 28 which is double 3.14??
I know, i know, you guys do calendar dates differently over there..
Actually it's you guys who date differently but whatever ;)
uhh what? no place on earth is more than 1 day ahead of any other place
They should've waited until 1/25. That's 3 months 14 days x 4.
Yes please.
What I found interesting was in the Raspberry Pi 4 Safety and User guide there is mention of a "+ 8GB variants" under the Product Name section, however all over the web there is only 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions mentioned, Someone care to comment?
This is a typo. The BCM2711 processor is in theory capable of addressing 16GB of SDRAM, but at present there is no available memory package larger than 4GB that works correctly with its SDRAM controller and PHY.
And here I am, after years of thinking about it I bought a Raspberry PI 3 B+ last month and now I see this..
It's thirty bucks. Who cares.
Wait time (Poland): 5-14 days...
:(((( I want it now!
Love the Pilot Custom 823! :)
Really cool. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.
Now I know what's going to drive my LCARS Hub.
Would like the ability to have had a antenna connector on the board to add some SMA connector for better wifi range.
Wow! Good news! Thank you!
The only thing that matters: are the USB's still on the same bus as the Ethernet? Kinda sucks having to choose between I/O or wired connectivity.
My friend bought a 3B+ like a month ago
seriously cool ngl
