I was doubting the letters authenticity until I heard, "she didn't make the bed because she didn't know how"...knowing that Eugenia doesn't know how to boil water or blow up a beach ball, the statement sounds true.

Eugenia never was a “sweet” person. she had a lot of sass even when she wasn’t malnourished and insane because of the constant hunger. so it’s not that hard to believe that she was throwing tantrums.
That's unreasonable. Being Quasi Recovered makes ypu hungrier than when you're sicker. When you're sicker your brain stops sending signals to your body that you're hungry because you aren't eating either way. If you're partially recovered, those pangs come back. It's even worse when you had that done to you against your will.

As someone who’s been forced into residential treatment, it’s a very traumatic experience. If you don’t think you need help and don’t want to be there, this can make it worse. Im embarrassed to admit I had several outbursts of anger during my treatment. I would really hate for a fellow patient to anonymously put me on blast when I was there because I needed help.
It seems very reasonable there would be outbursts considering it's against your will. Even if it wasn't. I dont think most would hold that against you or her but how you behave in between the breakdowns would make a huge difference. If this is true it sounds like it was an every day thing with no good behavior in between..
@@elizabethg-rj5tg this because I felt excluded and it took my buddy 2 months to help me out, I called her out for her bad behaviour, treatment that was clique but putting me under the radar and refuse dbt even when I asked and explained I have no idea how to deal with these emotions I broke down so much and felt really excluded which brings up my trauma abd embarrassed to say I lashed out only because of the fact I was feeling to excluded and it's cliquey and the fact I had no idea I even had adhd so with those issues treatment couldn't help me, I had to help my own self which I did. So glad I got out, it was very bad coming to residential treatment because I had Undiagnosed adhd I got told to shut up by someone in treatment and bullied I broke down to staff saying I didn't feel safe and that this certain individual was bullying me, I was glad another girl stuck up for me then another and yes the bullying did stop after she got used to me, I swear staff should have kicked her out fast because what if I didn't want to leave my room? I used to do that because of trauma.
@@galilaya42 I experienced a " dark" side too during anorexia and anorexia recovery. it was a state that would make me want to hurt and destroy. I imagine you could compare it to a werewolf frenzy. it would happen everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, just every time something negative came up. so you see; it was kinda a permanent personality, people around me experienced. Even when I was calm, people would mistake it for manipulation, because I would go off like a bomb just seconds later. I remember I really wanted to stop upsetting others and myself, but in the moments I just could not stop. I harmed myself instead of others, just started running until calming down or destroyed my own stuff to deal with the anger and energy, especially at school, but i just could not snap out of it. I think people don't really ever understood how little choice I had in my own bad behavior. I sympathize with the Eugenia from this story, just because there is a change she might have been through the same as me.

She voluntarily went to ed treatment. It was secondary. She was 5150 to a psych ward where they suggested she go into treatment for her ed. So, again, no excuses.
@SpicyLizard- I agree. I really dont understand the comments made in her defense. I was put into treatment against my will by my father, whom I didn't have a relationship with at the time. I was using heroin and on the brink of death. I was absolutely pissed when my father reached out to my judge and had me court mandated. I won't lie, I went in there very angry. I wasn't an idiot and I knew I needed help and was in a bad way. I didn't take it out on staff or other patients. I put my head down, did my time, and actually listened at times. I was young, too. The way she probably acted is just inexcusable.

I understand that exposing patient’s information is not an ethical thing to do, whether it is a healthcare provider or another patient. However, I also get where this girl comes from, she saw her and her friends treatments at risk in a way, by having to share a space with someone so problematic. Particularly for this girl’s friend who shared a room with Eugenia. Everyone was struggling with their own ED and at the same time had to deal with the the trauma of their internment, not necessarily because the staff were bad or anything, but because they were forced into a foreign environment and out of their comfort zone, while also paying their money and expecting the best results. It’s a very delicate situation.
Parents and beneficiary will also call in and lodge complaints when their child or loved ones treatment is being disrupted by a patient whose this non compliant. I know things. I've worked on psych wards with ED patients
If someone is unhappy with a fellow patient, they report it to the program directors and people in charge at the facility. They have no right to send a letter revealing private medical info (including naming a person receiving treatment) to some tiktoker or youtuber. Give me a break.

People often have a rough go the first time in treatment, especially if they’re in denial. I saw plenty of people like this when I was impatient a few times. Honestly, i actually believe this. Ive called her out on her ways and the way she talks and acts many times on here and insta, i always tell them to go and watch certain videos and old videos off her and the famous skinny mini video, i explain what she does, her mum does and everything; doesn't take long for them to see it too. I believe all of this, she is not innocent and she doesn't care. and i feel awful for everyone around her and i hate the fact some people use her but also, its what she gets when she doesn't listen to anyone. she isn't dumb etc, she plays it. Even knowing this now and being a little surpised, I still feel bad. Mental health is not easy to deal with. I, myself, might be problematic sometimes due to trauma. I give Eugenia the same amount of empathy if not more. It's very easy to make someone out to be a bad person when you yourself aren't sure if you're also bad. @@Spicy2001 there are a lot of people that struggle with eating disorders that have narcissistic tendencies and I think that neurologically it does something to peoples brain if you’re lacking food or lacking nutrients, your whole body can respond and that can make you pretty agitated. I mean, if you don’t have lunch or dinner and you’re still on the way home after work you’re really agitated until you have something to eat now imagine struggling with an eating disorder that can make you really upset/angry/ and in her condition because she’s lost so much weight neurologically that can affect how you think and speak and respond because it’s also affecting your brain because your brain is not getting enough nutrients so now Also, I noticed that a lot of people who you know are lashing out there’s usually a reason behind it, not saying she’s lashing out, but as an example of this there’s a child who just lost their mom and now they’re yelling at everyone in class and not paying attention and disrupting the class Everyone is annoyed and seeing that kid as a problem, but what they don’t know is that their mom just passed away So you never really know why people react the way they do or where things come from all the time but I hope this opens up a new perspective for you

Seeing this makes me reflect on how I behaved at my eating disorder residential and I am appalled by how much my behavior resembled Eugenia's back then. The first thing I said after I came out of the bathroom after purging was that I really didn't want to be the fattest one there. There's fucking nothing that could be more triggering than to say that. It got to the point that I started attempting to purge at the table just because I wanted the attention and shock value. I jeopardized everyone else's recovery because I was an entitled brat who didn't care that I was terrorizing the mental wellbeing of equally sick patients. I can't do anything to take back the ghastly behaviors that I inflicted on others in the residential. So it will plague my conscience for the rest of my life that I terrorized these innocent suffering people who didn't deserve anything but compassion and support. This is how eating disorders strip you of you of compassion and diggity and morph you into a monster. I'll never be able to take these sins back. To the people of that residential I am so sorry.

I was an entitled, miserable brat when I had anorexia. I would suck all the air out of the room and a chore to be around for most people. Of course, those who didn't understand the disorder were very hurtful, but I certainly didn't help myself from ridicule either. The disorder eats your mind and all your reason. It makes you self-absorbed to ungodly level. I know she has also been coddled her whole life, so I can imagine it was even worse, but yeah anorexia is not glamorous or beautiful. It's painful and soulless.
There's something I truly don't understand and I don't know if the answer is that we're simply built different or something... I never had anorexia, but I was underweight when I was like 11-13, not because I refused to eat though. I went to the doctor because I was often (every day actually) dizzy and weak, so I just don't understand how people with anorexia like Eugenia (who are way thinner than I ever was and are eating improperly) can have the energy to do anything and how she can stream without fainting. It's not meant to be a rude question, I'm simply curious and amazed at how strong she seems considering her weight.

@7SBeatsMM7 I agree with that. A huge drive through dopamine or adrenaline can keep you alive and energetic for a long time. I drank pots of coffee and diet coke to stay up and feel normal. In reality, I was an anxious wreck. The slightest inconvenience, especially around food or exercise could set me off.
There's a ton of anorexia patients (far into the illness where it is definitely eating their brain) who are very sweet people. It's not an excuse for being an asshole
While I am not excusing the rude behavior and tantrums which is sad to hear. I did not know she could be like behind the scenes. However based on content she has posted online , I want to be clear that this is a personal theory. As someone diagnosed with aspergers which now you would be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, I began to see signs she could be autistic over time that I connected with , with her social awkwardness at large gatherings and various events and how she had difficulty doing various things that required some sort of motor skills, like trying to hit a tiny ball with a golf club and unfolding one of those chairs people bring to the beach, and she was often confused with some comments in her streams that sometimes had like a figure of speech or a light hearted joke. I also was anorexic and it was very difficult to gain weight and eat more, I am glad that I have a better relationship with food now. People who are on the autism spectrum have an increased risk of developing anorexia and have a more difficult time recovering and the normal stress of recovery is even more intense. I remember when she came out of treatment it seemed the entire internet was celebrating and I didnt comment anything to come off as putting her down, but I could see signs in her post treatment online content that she wasnt better. While I hope she does get better- I will mention she has had an unhealthy relationship with food for a very long time and likely experienced concern from family and friends through that time, we may need to accept the fact she may never get over this ED.
Eugenia is so spoiled. The sweet act she does for the camera is a big lie. She is an actress. And when you see her on camera, acting all nice and innocent, it's just fake. Eugenia can be mean. She has a dark side. She can be manipulative. She has no interest in fighting her ed. She glorifies it, disrespecting people who struggle in private. She was never doing well in recovery because she does not want to get better. It's terrible she was so disruptive. I get anorexia treatment is difficult, but she truly had no interest in being there. She couldn't even try to be civil to others. I got really scared in anorexia treatment too, but the other girls were so friendly to me and I eventually got less scared and started eating. I liked talking to others who were going through anorexia, because it made me feel less alone. Eugenia doesn't sound like she wants to make genuine friends with people. it is in times like that where you need emotional support and understanding. She pushed it away. Eugenia didn't sound truly anxious or afraid in there. She sounded like she did not want to even be peaceful around others or try to do better. Anxiety is one thing. If you are truly rude and disruptive to others, that is something the person needs to deal with

@@Spicy2001 Oh and another reason why I believe this girl's chain of events. As soon as she mentioned Eugenia needed to be in an isolation room. I was like boom. For those that don't know what an isolation room is let me break it down.I've had to do this with some of my patients. An Isolation room when inside all you have is your bed if you're not harming yourself and, if you're not using your bed as property destruction. Sometimes your mattress is on the floor no bed frame. in the bathroom the shower curtain is removed there is plexiglass over the tv if there is one in the room (No cords ). It's for safety reasons so that the patient doesn't do property destruction or for those who have intermittent Explosion disorder, self harming. covers for plug in sockets are removed. Toiletry... Toilet paper dispenser the rod that goes through it is removed or staff has to give them the toilet paper. One so they don't use it as weapon the other some patients clog the toilet and sink so then there is flooding issues. Also in isolation sometimes a code grey is necessary and that is when restraints have to be used in case the patient becomes combative. An isolation is also to keep other patients/staff safe when a patient becomes verbally abusive and makes threats. It's also used for de-escalation for the patient.

She didn't know you could make icing ffs, she thought you bought it at the store. It sounds like her for sure. She didn't know how to dig a hole to plant something, that is completely common sense. And if she had have tried I don't believe she would have been strong enough to use the shovel properly.

When I was young I was in treatment . This sounds so true. She is so deep in denial that of course she told others in the group that they were crazy ! We had someone in our group who behaved the way she did and the medical team had not choice but to ask her to leave. They did that for the sake of those willing to be well. A non-willing patient can severally damage the trajectory to wellness and progress the others were on and had. Ms. Cooney is not special or a unique case. She is simply very ill. It rings true because when I first was in I was in treatment- It was the one telling others they were sicker than I. I was read the riot act. I quickly felt humbled but I such a motivation to be well I apologized to the group. I fully recovered almost 40 years ago and never looked back going on to speak to groups and have a fulsome life with two- now grown children. You enter recovery knowing it will be the toughest thing you have ever done. It is not the Four Seasons. After all, unlike alcohol or drug addiction a person MUST eat. The control we need by not eating is by its very nature something we must have to live and is reason anorexia/bulimia are so hard to treat. I quickly that “this is my body- it is where I live!”. It is about deep psychological issues and issues of low self-esteem, desperate need for perfection, but with big egos, need to control, fear, perhaps a history of abuse or trauma certainly the need to control (hence the need to feel in control for self-protection) self-loathing, personality disorder, emotional immaturity and many other pathologies. Yes. I was the person who went in and insulted my group. I stayed and gained some humility. While I was there a fellow patient died at a cardiac arrest (she was 26) but I met incredible you g woman who were instrumental in my recovery as were my team of doctors. Ms. Cooney’s case is extreme. To young woman who admire her or wish to emulate her and have some of the risk factors - Please know there are so many medical workers, psychiatrists, social workers and nurses who are expert. If non-treated death is inevitable. To you g woman who admire her please find the young woman doing the important things in life- taking care of oneself, loving and helping others and giving. Look for the conquerers. Of course we all like makeup videos and funny stuff on RUclips. Watching a 30 year old woman pretend she is something she is not to get money is tragic. Her life is so tiny. I fear that many of her followers are very young or are men with fetishes. It is disturbing and unhealthy. Take good care of yourselves and those around you. X

People are going to act like this in mental hospitals, big shocker. Its a hard thing to go through, and I dont think Eugenia should be put on blast for this. She's there to get help, it's stressful to get help, and patient reactions differ from one another.

Not so sure about that footnote, I can only presume that’s speculation on the other inpatient’s behalf. From my own experiences in MH wards, I can assure you, the staff have dealt with ‘bigger & uglier’ characters than Eugenia’s, & they’ll have seen every tactic, tantrum and everything inbetween played a hundred times over. Since Eugenia had put on some weight, I should think she had met the goal set for her by the team she was under, which was why she was then allowed to go home - I’m sure her behaviour contributed to her leaving in terms of ‘she’s now reached her goal, we can’t do anything more for her here’ as she would’ve been a hinderance to the others recovery, but she was likely ready to be released anyway. Her behaviour doesn’t shock me one bit.
This is NOT a HIPAA violation. HIPAA is a huge law that regulates many aspects of healthcare. Only a VERY SMALL part of that has to do with privacy and it regulates the release of information between healthcare professionals and insurance companies. If you are not employed by that facility, and you see Eugenia there or anyone for that matter, you are 100% free to talk about it. Stop telling this woman she’s breaking the law. She’s not. HIPAAs Privacy Rule is at 45 CFR Part 160 and Subparts A and E of Part 164. Read it for yourself.

Once you're 18 years of age if you're not mandated through the courts you're not obligated to stay. You can sign yourself out of treatment before it ends. The only time you're not allowed to do it if the judge says no or it's part of plea deal ( mandatory 51/50 or 52/50 ) as well in a criminal case to seek help whether it be for drug, alcohol or an ED and anything in btw.
Can they make you stay if you are autistic, even if you are over 18 at the time of treatment? That's what they did to me. I could not leave the inpatient centers I was at. Like can they make you stay based on how sick you are, how badly you need refeeding? I begged and cried to go home and could not leave. No matter how many times I asked to leave
The only way they can enforce that is by having a hearing. That doesn't mean you're necessarily at the courthouse. All's it takes is for a licensed medical provider to ask the courts for the patient to stay longer. All they have to do is show proof the patient needs more time. Also if they think the patient isn't ready to integrate back into the community , are they safe. So yeah if a judge signs off on their request you can be held there against your will. Also when people get into a situation when it comes hospitalization or knowing your rights you should have an advocate who knows the process, can help navigate or speak on your behalf. A lot people don't have that or they're unaware of that information. It helps. Advocates can help find legal help, housing, financial and an easy and safe way to transition from treatment and back into the community. Not everyone has family or someone who can vouch for them. They can also help persuade a different outcome. Caseworkers aren't always helpful, sometimes they're because they're overworked with their caseloads so that 1:1 support isn't always there. Having an advocate they're there to support the patient or client. There on your side. Is it bad as someone with a past eating disorder that i can see when someone is still suffering? I had this happen in rehab when i had an ED and as a recovering addict that another individual who had an ED and an addict i cried seeing my friend as i can tell she wasn't better, kinda liķe a codependent friendship, recovery was the best no phone until i was close to graduating, honestly hearing that she was hard was and is someone you cannot fix and they are hard to handle like i was with adhd in a mental health facility.

It absolutely is true. As a former patient decades ago in a group setting there is one “Eugenia” in every group. Given her psychopathy, her leaving recovery and crying it was not a five-star hotel or Disney world. it is clear she does not have the courage or willingness to get well. She is severely emotionally immature. Having a true authentic desire to recover from an eating disorder is the hardest thing an eating disordered patient will do. It certainly was for me. These diseases have been around for a hundred years. Social media has given platforms to many ill people. Their motivations are most often not healthy and are self-serving. I went on to live a fulsome life with love and family. I wanted a life!- more than I feared gaining ten extra pounds. And my poor beleaguered body healed and let me carry two beautiful children. When in recovery you “give over control” to get it back”. Such a person who exhibits the behaviours that Eugenia allegedly did is something I have seen before and such a fellow patient truly can negatively impact the other patients trying to become well and clinicians must protect those with the honest willingness to be well. One person was kicked out of our group. This young woman died at the age of 29. I have been a speaker to young girls who have or continue to suffer from eating disorders. I try and tell them “This is your body- this is where YOU live”. Eating is non-negotiable to live. A reckoning of sorts must happen and I was so grateful back then and now to have a therapist, a social worker, a dietician and world specialists by my side. I salute all those who came before me, those in recovery now, and those to come. In my life I have known three young women who did not think they were “as sick” or “as crazy” as the others in the group. All three died of a cardiac arrests. I get very angry at social media allowing this 30 year old woman to portray herself as a role model or a woman another should emulate. I have compassion for her too! I am angry at her denial. I am angry that she pretends all is well. She is tragically, a very ill woman who may very well succumb to this horrific disease.

I have no real idea of what's going on with her, but I believe this video based on what I've seen of her online over the years. I think that she is absolutely addicted both to social media and her eating disorder, and the two of them are constantly feeding into each other and creating a never ending cycle. I believe if she has the ability to recover, it will only be after she leaves social media and she will likely never be able to return in any similar way if she wishes to stay mentally healthy.

So I saw the video, and I saw some of the comments. 1. Whether what this person said about eugina is true or not, it definitely is too overwhelming to deal with someone who acts like this. But based on some of what I seen eugina post on her own channel before? Some of these sounds realistic 2. You say in some of the comment replies that eugina went willingly. But not everyone says yes and means it, sometimes people just say yes to avoid drama with others. While I was at treatment at renrew center in 2019-- i met someone who had been at the treatment center that EC had literally just discharged from the day after EC left they were admitted and can confirm that it was a monte nido program and those are exceptional care programs but anybody who doesn't want to recover won't get anything out of any program is the sad reality
@@Spicy2001 Thanks! I actually think she truly struggles with what is called unicorn syndrome in relation to eating disorders. I hold a personal philosophy that everyone absolutely CAN recover from an eating disorder --but not everyone does. Meaning that it's ultimately a choice but I don't believe it's too late for anybody. I would never rob someone even with the most receded and distorted mind and in denial mode of slightest bit oh hope for themselves that can motivate them to change. But unicorn syndrome is actually so common and I have strggled with this too at certain points. Unicorn syndrome is when the individual believes that they are the unicorn and exception to recovery and actually don't believe that they can recover or that the impact of the behaviors will actually kill them or hurt them in any way. They believe they are invincible to the ED essentially. This is particularly common in individuals who are severely malnourished as it has serious cognitive impact on the brain

People who self harm like this can be court ordered to be under the care of a treatment facility. This was done to Bam Margera for substance abuse. If someone (it doesn't have to be family) files for guardianship over her the court will be obligated to send a special investigator to interview her. They will assess her current health and mental state. If she is deemed incapable of caring for herself (and she will be) she will be forced into a hospital to save her life.
She was sent to a mental institution via a 5150. There was also law passed some time ago that if someone's bmi is under a certain amount they are deemed mentally unable to make their own decisions health wise. 🤍

I wanna say as disclaimer, i don’t normally bat for eugenia and disagree with 90% of what she does online -Whether this is true or not, legal or not- treatment is hard for most and if she wasn’t perfectly cooperative like many can be then why publish this? Sounds believable. Though it sounds like her behavior is rude, selfish, spoiled, entitled and self-centered, it's extremely frustrating and infuriating (from the POV of the patient with such a severe ED like hers) to feel betrayed by her best friend who "told on her" and got her admitted to the psych ward (which she described as very traumatic in itself, including the way she was carried there with restraints), then in the residential facility get stripped of her freedom of choice, freedom of movement, bodily autonomy, privacy and contact with the outside world, especially when she is used to having it her way and being completely neglected and untreated, and enter into an intensive medical facility where she is forced to deal, on top of all these things, with her biggest fear + lack of knowledge regarding when this ends. It can be absolutely heliish even if the staff members are professional and behave according to protocol. Also, being surrounded by other patients with EDs and comorbid mental disorders (even if they are kind and well-behaved) can be very triggering for a patient, who will constantly seek to compare himself to the rest and feel trapped and surrounded by the ED 24/7. It's honestly difficult for me to judge her in this very traumatic situation, especially when it happened "all of a sudden" and constituted such a drastic change from her previous life. I also understand, though, why other patients and staff members who were not having an easy time at all to say the least may have gotten angry at her behavior. It can be frustrating to experience this as a patient who is already tremendously struggling but is motivated to try and heal. Btw, even if she claims that she "willingly" went in after the psychward, it may be a lie that is intended to make her ED seem less severe according to medical professionals. Sometimes a patient is given the "choice" between continued forced hospitalization depending on state's laws or residential treatment, so that you can't truly freely leave.
If I caught someone even "allegedly" talking about the way I acted in rehab, I'd be very upset. If you haven't been, even if you had...regardless you don't talk about another's experience by NAME. You can't.

If I remember correctly, when she was sectioned, euginia believed she was fine (and this was constantly reinforced by some viewers saying she looked great), and felt she'd been betrayed by her friends who got her sectioned. Thus, she probably felt like she was being held prisoner in a place with all these mentally ill people, even though she was fine. Plus, the feeding tube likely took away the one thing that made her feel any sort of control (eating/not eating). She was then forced to eat and gain weight, likely causing am influx of aweful thoughts about herself (e.g.,. Feeling like a failiure or disgusting for gaining weight). Considering all of that, it is understandable that she did not cooperate well and caused havoc. And as I said, that doesn't mean it's fine she was disrespectful to staff etc, but I do think that judging her character, based on her behaviour during this extremely difficult period of her being so unwell is unfair. In my opinion, no one's character should be based on thier behaviour during a mental health crisis. I have many more opinions relating to euginias and her content but I wanted to make this comment purely about this video and the email it describes and why I personally think it's an unfair video to have on the internet for all to see.

Ngl that sounds like a lot of people usually kids/teens on their first section for an ED. I don’t know who this person is but as they’ve said they’re a lot older & didn’t know what YT’rs were I’d have to assume they’re A LOT older. I’m 38 and I grew up with it so I’m guessing they’re older than me. I’d also guess this is probably not their first time seeking treatment & this isn’t something new to them. I’d ask they looked back on their first time when they were younger, undoubtedly not a time THEY sought the treatment but had it thrust upon them. I’m not a fan of Eugenia nor how she’s handled her situation especially post sectioning because of my own issues (I say if you wish to continue with an ED at that point at least have the balls to be honest about it) but I also know a lot of us weren’t perfect lil patients when we never asked to be there in the first place.
Also I know Eugenia isn’t/wasn’t a teen when she first got sent in…doesn’t matter. It was the first time ANYONE tried to confront her ED and make her do something she didn’t want to do about it. Give some grace.

That's unreasonable. Being Quasi Recovered makes ypu hungrier than when you're sicker. When you're sicker your brain stops sending signals to your body that you're hungry because you aren't eating either way. If you're partially recovered, those pangs come back. It's even worse when you had that done to you against your will.

As someone who’s been forced into residential treatment, it’s a very traumatic experience. If you don’t think you need help and don’t want to be there, this can make it worse. Im embarrassed to admit I had several outbursts of anger during my treatment. I would really hate for a fellow patient to anonymously put me on blast when I was there because I needed help.
It seems very reasonable there would be outbursts considering it's against your will. Even if it wasn't. I dont think most would hold that against you or her but how you behave in between the breakdowns would make a huge difference. If this is true it sounds like it was an every day thing with no good behavior in between..

So glad I got out, it was very bad coming to residential treatment because I had Undiagnosed adhd I got told to shut up by someone in treatment and bullied I broke down to staff saying I didn't feel safe and that this certain individual was bullying me, I was glad another girl stuck up for me then another and yes the bullying did stop after she got used to me, I swear staff should have kicked her out fast because what if I didn't want to leave my room? I used to do that because of trauma.

it would happen everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, just every time something negative came up. so you see; it was kinda a permanent personality, people around me experienced. Even when I was calm, people would mistake it for manipulation, because I would go off like a bomb just seconds later.
I remember I really wanted to stop upsetting others and myself, but in the moments I just could not stop. I harmed myself instead of others, just started running until calming down or destroyed my own stuff to deal with the anger and energy, especially at school, but i just could not snap out of it.
I think people don't really ever understood how little choice I had in my own bad behavior. I sympathize with the Eugenia from this story, just because there is a change she might have been through the same as me.

I was using heroin and on the brink of death. I was absolutely pissed when my father reached out to my judge and had me court mandated. I won't lie, I went in there very angry. I wasn't an idiot and I knew I needed help and was in a bad way. I didn't take it out on staff or other patients. I put my head down, did my time, and actually listened at times. I was young, too. The way she probably acted is just inexcusable.

I understand that exposing patient’s information is not an ethical thing to do, whether it is a healthcare provider or another patient. However, I also get where this girl comes from, she saw her and her friends treatments at risk in a way, by having to share a space with someone so problematic. Particularly for this girl’s friend who shared a room with Eugenia. Everyone was struggling with their own ED and at the same time had to deal with the the trauma of their internment, not necessarily because the staff were bad or anything, but because they were forced into a foreign environment and out of their comfort zone, while also paying their money and expecting the best results. It’s a very delicate situation.
Parents and beneficiary will also call in and lodge complaints when their child or loved ones treatment is being disrupted by a patient whose this non compliant.

People often have a rough go the first time in treatment, especially if they’re in denial. I saw plenty of people like this when I was impatient a few times. @@Spicy2001 there are a lot of people that struggle with eating disorders that have narcissistic tendencies and I think that neurologically it does something to peoples brain if you’re lacking food or lacking nutrients, your whole body can respond and that can make you pretty agitated. I mean, if you don’t have lunch or dinner and you’re still on the way home after work you’re really agitated until you have something to eat now imagine struggling with an eating disorder that can make you really upset/angry/ and in her condition because she’s lost so much weight neurologically that can affect how you think and speak and respond because it’s also affecting your brain because your brain is not getting enough nutrients so now
Also, I noticed that a lot of people who you know are lashing out there’s usually a reason behind it, not saying she’s lashing out, but as an example of this there’s a child who just lost their mom and now they’re yelling at everyone in class and not paying attention and disrupting the class
Everyone is annoyed and seeing that kid as a problem, but what they don’t know is that their mom just passed away
So you never really know why people react the way they do or where things come from all the time but I hope this opens up a new perspective for you

Seeing this makes me reflect on how I behaved at my eating disorder residential and I am appalled by how much my behavior resembled Eugenia's back then. The first thing I said after I came out of the bathroom after purging was that I really didn't want to be the fattest one there. There's fucking nothing that could be more triggering than to say that. It got to the point that I started attempting to purge at the table just because I wanted the attention and shock value. I jeopardized everyone else's recovery because I was an entitled brat who didn't care that I was terrorizing the mental wellbeing of equally sick patients. I can't do anything to take back the ghastly behaviors that I inflicted on others in the residential. So it will plague my conscience for the rest of my life that I terrorized these innocent suffering people who didn't deserve anything but compassion and support. This is how eating disorders strip you of you of compassion and diggity and morph you into a monster. I'll never be able to take these sins back. To the people of that residential I am so sorry.

I was an entitled, miserable brat when I had anorexia. I would suck all the air out of the room and a chore to be around for most people. Of course, those who didn't understand the disorder were very hurtful, but I certainly didn't help myself from ridicule either. The disorder eats your mind and all your reason. It makes you self-absorbed to ungodly level. I know she has also been coddled her whole life, so I can imagine it was even worse, but yeah anorexia is not glamorous or beautiful. It's painful and soulless.
There's something I truly don't understand and I don't know if the answer is that we're simply built different or something... I never had anorexia, but I was underweight when I was like 11-13, not because I refused to eat though. I went to the doctor because I was often (every day actually) dizzy and weak, so I just don't understand how people with anorexia like Eugenia (who are way thinner than I ever was and are eating improperly) can have the energy to do anything and how she can stream without fainting. It's not meant to be a rude question, I'm simply curious and amazed at how strong she seems considering her weight.

@7SBeatsMM7 I agree with that. A huge drive through dopamine or adrenaline can keep you alive and energetic for a long time. I drank pots of coffee and diet coke to stay up and feel normal. In reality, I was an anxious wreck. The slightest inconvenience, especially around food or exercise could set me off.

There's a ton of anorexia patients (far into the illness where it is definitely eating their brain) who are very sweet people. It's not an excuse for being an asshole
While I am not excusing the rude behavior and tantrums which is sad to hear. I did not know she could be like behind the scenes. However based on content she has posted online , I want to be clear that this is a personal theory. As someone diagnosed with aspergers which now you would be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, I began to see signs she could be autistic over time that I connected with , with her social awkwardness at large gatherings and various events and how she had difficulty doing various things that required some sort of motor skills, like trying to hit a tiny ball with a golf club and unfolding one of those chairs people bring to the beach, and she was often confused with some comments in her streams that sometimes had like a figure of speech or a light hearted joke. I also was anorexic and it was very difficult to gain weight and eat more, I am glad that I have a better relationship with food now. People who are on the autism spectrum have an increased risk of developing anorexia and have a more difficult time recovering and the normal stress of recovery is even more intense. I remember when she came out of treatment it seemed the entire internet was celebrating and I didnt comment anything to come off as putting her down, but I could see signs in her post treatment online content that she wasnt better. While I hope she does get better- I will mention she has had an unhealthy relationship with food for a very long time and likely experienced concern from family and friends through that time, we may need to accept the fact she may never get over this ED.
Eugenia is so spoiled. The sweet act she does for the camera is a big lie. She is an actress. And when you see her on camera, acting all nice and innocent, it's just fake. Eugenia can be mean. She has a dark side. She can be manipulative. She has no interest in fighting her ed. She glorifies it, disrespecting people who struggle in private. She was never doing well in recovery because she does not want to get better. It's terrible she was so disruptive. I get anorexia treatment is difficult, but she truly had no interest in being there. She couldn't even try to be civil to others. I got really scared in anorexia treatment too, but the other girls were so friendly to me and I eventually got less scared and started eating. I liked talking to others who were going through anorexia, because it made me feel less alone. Eugenia doesn't sound like she wants to make genuine friends with people. it is in times like that where you need emotional support and understanding. She pushed it away. Eugenia didn't sound truly anxious or afraid in there. She sounded like she did not want to even be peaceful around others or try to do better. Anxiety is one thing. If you are truly rude and disruptive to others, that is something the person needs to deal with

Not one second would I even question that email. I 100% believe that is very true. I'll have to go back to a video that all of you have seen .Oh Lordy it's Jordy did a reactionary video of her and her mother at Disneyland in Orlando, FL. I will tag the time in which she does exactly what the girl who was at the same treatment center as Eugenia. It mirrors this girl's allegations . @@Spicy2001 Oh and another reason why I believe this girl's chain of events. As soon as she mentioned Eugenia needed to be in an isolation room. I was like boom. For those that don't know what an isolation room is let me break it down.I've had to do this with some of my patients. An Isolation room when inside all you have is your bed if you're not harming yourself and, if you're not using your bed as property destruction. Sometimes your mattress is on the floor no bed frame.
in the bathroom the shower curtain is removed there is plexiglass over the tv if there is one in the room (No cords ). It's for safety reasons so that the patient doesn't do property destruction or for those who have intermittent Explosion disorder, self harming. covers for plug in sockets are removed. Toiletry... Toilet paper dispenser the rod that goes through it is removed or staff has to give them the toilet paper. One so they don't use it as weapon the other some patients clog the toilet and sink so then there is flooding issues. Also in isolation sometimes a code grey is necessary and that is when restraints have to be used in case the patient becomes combative. An isolation is also to keep other patients/staff safe when a patient becomes verbally abusive and makes threats. It's also used for de-escalation for the patient.

When I was young I was in treatment . This sounds so true. She is so deep in denial that of course she told others in the group that they were crazy ! We had someone in our group who behaved the way she did and the medical team had not choice but to ask her to leave. They did that for the sake of those willing to be well. A non-willing patient can severally damage the trajectory to wellness and progress the others were on and had. Ms. Cooney is not special or a unique case. She is simply very ill. It rings true because when I first was in I was in treatment-

I was read the riot act. I quickly felt humbled but I such a motivation to be well I apologized to the group. I fully recovered almost 40 years ago and never looked back going on to speak to groups and have a fulsome life with two- now grown children. You enter recovery knowing it will be the toughest thing you have ever done. It is not the Four Seasons. After all, unlike alcohol or drug addiction a person MUST eat. The control we need by not eating is by its very nature something we must have to live and is reason anorexia/bulimia are so hard to treat. I quickly that “this is my body- it is where I live!”. I also learnt that the only thing I have complete control of is my current thought. It is helpful for commenters to read about what anorexia really is. It is NOT about a diet gone awry or a desire to be thin. It is about deep psychological issues and issues of low self-esteem, desperate need for perfection, but with big egos, need to control, fear, perhaps a history of abuse or trauma certainly the need to control (hence the need to feel in control for self-protection) self-loathing, personality disorder, emotional immaturity and many other pathologies. Yes. I was the person who went in and insulted my group. I stayed and gained some humility. While I was there a fellow patient died at a cardiac arrest (she was 26) but I met incredible you g woman who were instrumental in my recovery as were my team of doctors. Ms. Cooney’s case is extreme. To young woman who admire her or wish to emulate her and have some of the risk factors - Please know there are so many medical workers, psychiatrists, social workers and nurses who are expert. If non-treated death is inevitable. To you g woman who admire her please find the young woman doing the important things in life- taking care of oneself, loving and helping others and giving. Look for the conquerers. Of course we all like makeup videos and funny stuff on RUclips. Watching a 30 year old woman pretend she is something she is not to get money is tragic. Her life is so tiny. I fear that many of her followers are very young or are men with fetishes. It is disturbing and unhealthy. Take good care of yourselves and those around you. X

It's unfortunate but not at all uncommon.
People are going to act like this in mental hospitals, big shocker. Its a hard thing to go through, and I dont think Eugenia should be put on blast for this. She's there to get help, it's stressful to get help, and patient reactions differ from one another.

Not so sure about that footnote, I can only presume that’s speculation on the other inpatient’s behalf. From my own experiences in MH wards, I can assure you, the staff have dealt with ‘bigger & uglier’ characters than Eugenia’s, & they’ll have seen every tactic, tantrum and everything inbetween played a hundred times over. Since Eugenia had put on some weight, I should think she had met the goal set for her by the team she was under, which was why she was then allowed to go home - I’m sure her behaviour contributed to her leaving in terms of ‘she’s now reached her goal, we can’t do anything more for her here’ as she would’ve been a hinderance to the others recovery, but she was likely ready to be released anyway.
Her behaviour doesn’t shock me one bit.
This sounds similar to a stay in a psychiatric hospitals.
This is NOT a HIPAA violation. HIPAA is a huge law that regulates many aspects of healthcare. Only a VERY SMALL part of that has to do with privacy and it regulates the release of information between healthcare professionals and insurance companies. If you are not employed by that facility, and you see Eugenia there or anyone for that matter, you are 100% free to talk about it. Stop telling this woman she’s breaking the law. She’s not. HIPAAs Privacy Rule is at 45 CFR Part 160 and Subparts A and E of Part 164. Read it for yourself.

Once you're 18 years of age if you're not mandated through the courts you're not obligated to stay. You can sign yourself out of treatment before it ends. The only time you're not allowed to do it if the judge says no or it's part of plea deal ( mandatory 51/50 or 52/50 ) as well in a criminal case to seek help whether it be for drug, alcohol or an ED and anything in btw.
Can they make you stay if you are autistic, even if you are over 18 at the time of treatment? That's what they did to me. I could not leave the inpatient centers I was at. Like can they make you stay based on how sick you are, how badly you need refeeding? I begged and cried to go home and could not leave. No matter how many times I asked to leave
The only way they can enforce that is by having a hearing. That doesn't mean you're necessarily at the courthouse. All's it takes is for a licensed medical provider to ask the courts for the patient to stay longer. All they have to do is show proof the patient needs more time. Also if they think the patient isn't ready to integrate back into the community , are they safe. So yeah if a judge signs off on their request you can be held there against your will. Also when people get into a situation when it comes hospitalization or knowing your rights you should have an advocate who knows the process, can help navigate or speak on your behalf. A lot people don't have that or they're unaware of that information. It helps. Advocates can help find legal help, housing, financial and an easy and safe way to transition from treatment and back into the community. Not everyone has family or someone who can vouch for them. They can also help persuade a different outcome. Caseworkers aren't always helpful, sometimes they're because they're overworked with their caseloads so that 1:1 support isn't always there. Having an advocate they're there to support the patient or client. There on your side. Is it bad as someone with a past eating disorder that i can see when someone is still suffering? I had this happen in rehab when i had an ED and as a recovering addict that another individual who had an ED and an addict i cried seeing my friend as i can tell she wasn't better, kinda liķe a codependent friendship, recovery was the best no phone until i was close to graduating, honestly hearing that she was hard was and is someone you cannot fix and they are hard to handle like i was with adhd in a mental health facility.

It absolutely is true. As a former patient decades ago in a group setting there is one “Eugenia” in every group. Given her psychopathy, her leaving recovery and crying it was not a five-star hotel or Disney world. it is clear she does not have the courage or willingness to get well. She is severely emotionally immature. Having a true authentic desire to recover from an eating disorder is the hardest thing an eating disordered patient will do. It certainly was for me. These diseases have been around for a hundred years. Social media has given platforms to many ill people. Their motivations are most often not healthy and are self-serving. I went on to live a fulsome life with love and family. I wanted a life!- more than I feared gaining ten extra pounds. And my poor beleaguered body healed and let me carry two beautiful children. When in recovery you “give over control” to get it back”. Such a person who exhibits the behaviours that Eugenia allegedly did is something I have seen before and such a fellow patient truly can negatively impact the other patients trying to become well and clinicians must protect those with the honest willingness to be well. One person was kicked out of our group. This young woman died at the age of 29. I have been a speaker to young girls who have or continue to suffer from eating disorders. I try and tell them “This is your body- this is where YOU live”. Eating is non-negotiable to live. A reckoning of sorts must happen and I was so grateful back then and now to have a therapist, a social worker, a dietician and world specialists by my side. I salute all those who came before me, those in recovery now, and those to come. In my life I have known three young women who did not think they were “as sick” or “as crazy” as the others in the group. All three died of a cardiac arrests. I get very angry at social media allowing this 30 year old woman to portray herself as a role model or a woman another should emulate. I have compassion for her too! I am angry at her denial. I am angry that she pretends all is well. She is tragically, a very ill woman who may very well succumb to this horrific disease.

I have no real idea of what's going on with her, but I believe this video based on what I've seen of her online over the years. I think that she is absolutely addicted both to social media and her eating disorder, and the two of them are constantly feeding into each other and creating a never ending cycle. I believe if she has the ability to recover, it will only be after she leaves social media and she will likely never be able to return in any similar way if she wishes to stay mentally healthy.

But publicizing what went down in a place where she was getting help is not the way to go about this. I believe it 1000% theres no way that sweet bubbly attitude was ever real. Shes absolutely insane & a raging narcissist. 1. Whether what this person said about eugina is true or not, it definitely is too overwhelming to deal with someone who acts like this.
But based on some of what I seen eugina post on her own channel before? Some of these sounds realistic
2. You say in some of the comment replies that eugina went willingly. But not everyone says yes and means it, sometimes people just say yes to avoid drama with others.
Sure she may be an adult, but even you and many others agree she definitely doesn’t act like that adult

While I was at treatment at renrew center in 2019-- i met someone who had been at the treatment center that EC had literally just discharged from the day after EC left they were admitted and can confirm that it was a monte nido program and those are exceptional care programs but anybody who doesn't want to recover won't get anything out of any program is the sad reality

@@Spicy2001 Thanks! I actually think she truly struggles with what is called unicorn syndrome in relation to eating disorders. I hold a personal philosophy that everyone absolutely CAN recover from an eating disorder --but not everyone does. Meaning that it's ultimately a choice but I don't believe it's too late for anybody. I would never rob someone even with the most receded and distorted mind and in denial mode of slightest bit oh hope for themselves that can motivate them to change. But unicorn syndrome is actually so common and I have strggled with this too at certain points. Unicorn syndrome is when the individual believes that they are the unicorn and exception to recovery and actually don't believe that they can recover or that the impact of the behaviors will actually kill them or hurt them in any way. They believe they are invincible to the ED essentially. This is particularly common in individuals who are severely malnourished as it has serious cognitive impact on the brain

People who self harm like this can be court ordered to be under the care of a treatment facility. This was done to Bam Margera for substance abuse. If someone (it doesn't have to be family) files for guardianship over her the court will be obligated to send a special investigator to interview her. They will assess her current health and mental state. If she is deemed incapable of caring for herself (and she will be) she will be forced into a hospital to save her life.
She was sent to a mental institution via a 5150. There was also law passed some time ago that if someone's bmi is under a certain amount they are deemed mentally unable to make their own decisions health wise. 🤍

I wanna say as disclaimer, i don’t normally bat for eugenia and disagree with 90% of what she does online -Whether this is true or not, legal or not- treatment is hard for most and if she wasn’t perfectly cooperative like many can be then why publish this? I think it’s so messed up and it’s one thing to socialize among friends but to blast someone in treatment? It doesn’t matter if it’s forced or not.. ethically, this is fucked up to put this out for the entire world to see. Lastly- Eugenia blasted the state run facility or mental hospital where they drop most 5150 then she was transferred to a specific ED facility which she had almost nothing but good things to say about so that right there is in an invalid part of the story. Btw- state run facilities are infamous for abuse of patients and you can go look that shit up yourself. As for staff being unable to handle her- yeah that’s not how it works. In almost any facility regardless of age and do not let anyone tell you otherwise- a relative or spouse can pull you out at any time. Her mother was actively trying to get her out and most places don’t try to enforce past 48-72h for initial evaluations. This is from someone who has had majority of her friends and family work in healthcare or volunteer at these facilities.
I also do not agree with Eugenia not needing treatment but at the same time- I realized after watching her for about a decade on the sideline form learning about onision therein, learning of her - I do not at all give a fuck if she gets better anymore. When you see all the comments taking about their experiences and how she’s their inspo is horrific!!!! These companies are making money off this whole situation and i guarantee she would not be milking this if she didn’t have an audience. Sounds believable. Though it sounds like her behavior is rude, selfish, spoiled, entitled and self-centered, it's extremely frustrating and infuriating (from the POV of the patient with such a severe ED like hers) to feel betrayed by her best friend who "told on her" and got her admitted to the psych ward (which she described as very traumatic in itself, including the way she was carried there with restraints), then in the residential facility get stripped of her freedom of choice, freedom of movement, bodily autonomy, privacy and contact with the outside world, especially when she is used to having it her way and being completely neglected and untreated, and enter into an intensive medical facility where she is forced to deal, on top of all these things, with her biggest fear + lack of knowledge regarding when this ends. It can be absolutely heliish even if the staff members are professional and behave according to protocol. Also, being surrounded by other patients with EDs and comorbid mental disorders (even if they are kind and well-behaved) can be very triggering for a patient, who will constantly seek to compare himself to the rest and feel trapped and surrounded by the ED 24/7.
It's honestly difficult for me to judge her in this very traumatic situation, especially when it happened "all of a sudden" and constituted such a drastic change from her previous life. I also understand, though, why other patients and staff members who were not having an easy time at all to say the least may have gotten angry at her behavior. It can be frustrating to experience this as a patient who is already tremendously struggling but is motivated to try and heal.
Btw, even if she claims that she "willingly" went in after the psychward, it may be a lie that is intended to make her ED seem less severe according to medical professionals. Sometimes a patient is given the "choice" between continued forced hospitalization depending on state's laws or residential treatment, so that you can't truly freely leave.

I believe she acted these ways and agree it's not okay to treat other patients and staff that way. BUT I wish that people would try to step into euginias shoes for a moment and have a little bit of compassion.
If I remember correctly, when she was sectioned, euginia believed she was fine (and this was constantly reinforced by some viewers saying she looked great), and felt she'd been betrayed by her friends who got her sectioned. Thus, she probably felt like she was being held prisoner in a place with all these mentally ill people, even though she was fine. Plus, the feeding tube likely took away the one thing that made her feel any sort of control (eating/not eating). She was then forced to eat and gain weight, likely causing am influx of aweful thoughts about herself (e.g.,. Feeling like a failiure or disgusting for gaining weight). Considering all of that, it is understandable that she did not cooperate well and caused havoc.
And as I said, that doesn't mean it's fine she was disrespectful to staff etc, but I do think that judging her character, based on her behaviour during this extremely difficult period of her being so unwell is unfair. In my opinion, no one's character should be based on thier behaviour during a mental health crisis.
I have many more opinions relating to euginias and her content but I wanted to make this comment purely about this video and the email it describes and why I personally think it's an unfair video to have on the internet for all to see.

Ngl that sounds like a lot of people usually kids/teens on their first section for an ED. I don’t know who this person is but as they’ve said they’re a lot older & didn’t know what YT’rs were I’d have to assume they’re A LOT older. I’m 38 and I grew up with it so I’m guessing they’re older than me. I’d also guess this is probably not their first time seeking treatment & this isn’t something new to them. I’d ask they looked back on their first time when they were younger, undoubtedly not a time THEY sought the treatment but had it thrust upon them. I’m not a fan of Eugenia nor how she’s handled her situation especially post sectioning because of my own issues (I say if you wish to continue with an ED at that point at least have the balls to be honest about it) but I also know a lot of us weren’t perfect lil patients when we never asked to be there in the first place.
Also I know Eugenia isn’t/wasn’t a teen when she first got sent in…doesn’t matter. It was the first time ANYONE tried to confront her ED and make her do something she didn’t want to do about it. Give some grace.
