There is no single strategy, just as there is no uniform scenario. We do have farms that use glyphosate, but sparingly, and we help them rebuild and replenish microbial balances afterward to mitigate the soil damage. Where feasible, light tilling, cover crops, intercropping, and other strategies can help to reduce weeds. I won't pretend to have the credentials to criticize his science, but one thing bothers me. There's a part of the anti-GMO movement that is fundamentally dishonest, and this chelator story comes right out of their playbook. But when glyphosate was used for that purpose, it was applied at full concentration as a molten salt. That's totally different from how it is used in agriculture as a dilute solution. I also know that glyphosate eventually breaks down so it would eventually return the mineral components to the soil.

So does it do the same thing to the body? Pull out copper, zinc, calcium and magnesium out of your body?
It degrades before it reaches you trough food. You would have to ingest it directly.
Some of it may degrade, but some does not, and when it reaches your body, it does disrupt internal systems and cause damage.

Basically you can't use it in places where you want to grow food, because it poisons the soil.
FALSE Farmers have be setting yield records almost every year and you do not do that without good soil.
In fact you can plant new crops in three days after application of glyphosate. No soil poisoning.
