Whatever anybody does, do NOT buy the cheapo EPDM weather stripping. It's far too dense, and the corners are made of solid rubber which cannot compress. You won't be able to close anything after installing, and is a complete waste of money. YES, OEM latex weather stripping is very expensive (~750 for a complete set as of 2024), but it's the only option. Pretty sure you're using EPDM here, because there's no way you need to fight this stuff this hard.
THis stuff worked for me - no issues - I sold the car and bought a Miata with the proceeds and made my wife very happy! Because neither of us could get into or out of the Vette comfortably - the miata is no problem! :)
I got to do this job. This video helped me see what I'm getting into. Thanks
Glad I could help
Best video covering this ever 10/10
Waiting on mine to come in for my 2000 C5. Good video. 👍

You did a real good job thank you.
Holy crap. Go to Harbor Freight and buy some trim tools. This video is nuts!
Country style…😂
omg never mind now i have seen it all vice grips with nothing to protect the top .
I was cringing so hard when I saw him use vise grips on the exposed outside metal piece 😣
Really you used vice grips on the painted surface. LOL
Yep - the paint was toast already...
