raees taylor it’s actually going good. I can use the register comfortably, I know the subs by heart kinda and veggies are a breeze. The only think I struggle with is wrapping the soft shell and wrapping the sandwich. Also closing is a little hard but I’m doing perfect. The only thing I don’t like is since I’m in Ohio the Subway here goes by minimal wage which is $8.50. It sucks but oh well.

raees taylor So at my Subway we have small charts to help with making the sub. I use that if I’m really confused but for the most part I honestly learned the subs from working on veggies and looking at the sub makers and listening to what the customer ordered. This is my second week and I comfortable so you’ll be ok trust me. I was only good at cleaning, washing dishes, etc. but yeah it gets way easier. And I understand it really does get busy around lunch time and dinner time. I have good people helping me and teaching me and they started me on veggies which is the easiest. Ask them to put you on veggies and you’ll see why kind of subs people usually order. Lmk if you need more tips I’m happy to help if u also have any questions.
Most Subways are slower compared to say a McDonalds, so if you like working with less people and being more independent, then you might like it. Just remember that you are responsible for everything, so for some people that can be overwhelming. With the loans from government, businesses like Subways may start hiring again.
Hang in there,, try again maybe at another location if not the one u left. Sorry u had to fend for yourself. Not all Subways (mngt and employees) r created equal. If not Subway, just keep believing in yourself. Someone somewhere will appreciate you and you will soar

I really wish we had this register screen. The register screen I use looks different than this, more cluttered and less neat, everything is way too abbreviated too. Its not easy to read compared to this one, and I have dyslexia so I'm always slower with reading and following everything on the screen correctly - then my boss gets frustrated with me. This video is still very helpful though, thank you.
Don't stress about learning the sandwiches. That's surprisingly the easier part of the job. You will know all the sandwiches after about 3-4 shifts. I often look at the meats while my coworker is putting on veggies. Then I know what type of sandwich it is. And at my Subway we have a practice where the person putting on the veggies will often tell the cashier the sandwich ("it's a ham sandwich"), but it's different at every subway.
