I'm forever fascinated by, not only Japanese ingenuity and artistry overall, but the fact that they create their own extremely specialized tools in the pursuit of that amazing artistry. This makes them such a unique & special society...it's a shame all of that is being brushed aside and swallowed up by the very technocracy they created for themselves. 😭
Such a pleasure to watch a fine artisan to work, making a simple yet fine and artistic craft with her own hands !!

Amazing. The material preparation is harder than the finish product. The Japanese have a incredible sense of culture, discipline, and pride in there work.
