    I rode this route for my middle school trip, the train was a little bumpy and it took longer than car but you didn't really have to do anything and you could just go on your phone and watch things and buy chips and eat.

    Great fast video of my favorite Amtrak route. I travel the Pacific Surfliners between San Diego, Los Angeles & Oxnard, it beat driving on the I-5/U.S.101 parking lots where people slow down for the sake of slowing down in nice weather, no construction zones & no accidents-the deliberate & intentional slow down happens nationwide.

    it’s super cool that amtrak pacific surfliner comes out from LA that far! i travelled along US 101 near that region (0:00-4:07) a few months ago and sadly i saw no amtrak trains 😭… maybe because it was the weekend or they mostly stay down near san diego and los angeles

    This video also illustrates how many curves are on the SP Coast Line from Chatsworth north. We are lucky trains can go 79 MPH on so much of it.

    • @christopherorourke6543
      @christopherorourke6543 5 лет назад +1

      There have been upgrades on some of Amtrak’s routes outside the Northeast & Keystone corridors that allows for higher speeds, the FRA doesn’tand won’t allow it at all. The FRA has set up the 79 MPH maximum speed limit for all trains in 1979. It needs to be updated. The upgraded rotes can handle the speeds of 110 to 125 MPH with no problems.

    At 1:33 is that siding near Guadalupe with hand-thrown turnouts. It is a great time-waster because the train must be stopped each time a crew members must throw a switch. Let's get this anachronism fixed!
