    It's called misdirection, or misalignment, basically stepping of the line so your at a 45 degree angle facing him, this is also used when initiating an attack. In the old days linear fighting was generally considered to end in mutual destruction to some degree or other, and that he had the advantage who could misdirect the other person whether offending or defending

    very interesting concepts - I suppose the really difficult thing is to maintain normal breathing, flexibility and agility when you're tense because of the attacker's aggressive energy (I am talking about his mental ability to shock you with abusive language, posturing, etc)
