Always such a pleasure to see Vlad, how swiftly and smoothly this man can move. Never ceases to impress me. And of course, practicing with him is even a notch up, as an experience. Truly a very inspiring man.

And what if an attackers comes at speed and with multiple stabbing motions in a matter of seconds, then the elbow defense is to close to the body already

Exactly bro...street fight is a complete different scenario, I don't know how much this will helpfull. Afterall that guy is his student or something so he know that guy will not hurt him.

Systema is all about playing smart, as a Systema student I wouldnt use my elbow at that difficult point because thats suicide lol. This video is just a demonstration.

It appears that you can practice hits, breathing and certain moves until you find a sparing/training partner.

Not really. it's essential to have a training partner.

+Amine Esdar I suggest you start with the book "let every breath". Then, look at the site RussianMartialArt to locate a training partner.

+Amine Esdar Stuff like he's showing right now, rolling with the energy of the punch and redirecting, is very difficult to learn solo. The mechanics of isolating each joint, learning to relax deeply, and then linking them together and the underlying move can be learned by itself, of course. Wing Chun dummy practice is very useful to get the feel for turning, cutting down, spiralling, but nothing will teach you to respond exactly right except competitive practice against another person. I've done boxing and jujitsu and wing chun and it's the same. Form practice, shadowboxing, drills like padwork or muk jong, they're the foundation of skill, but without periodically coming up against a person trying to defeat you, you'll train yourself into a hole. Just be aware of that and be aware of how important the quality of your research and testing stuff out is when you're training on your own for any significant length of time.

What if the opponent starting kicking at same time...and it will be different scenario if done faster..

Yes. The defender's punches would immobilize the attacker. Right now, Vladimir is demonstrating AND protecting him.
