Bit Coins???
I have read numerous articles on Bit Coins and I still don’t understand them, especially the part where they come from or who originated them ?? 🙄
Nobody does.
Satoshi Nakamoto made it. But that's a pseudonym and nobody knows who he really is.
They came from nowhere... they were invented from nothing... just became a thing one day that people all groupthunk into a valuable asset backed by nothing except people thinking they're valuable. There's a finite supply of them, roughly 90% of which are already in "circulation" -- and when that number hits 100%, that's it. No more Bitcoins. They can easily be stolen with little hope of recovery and they are difficult to regulate or tax, which means there's a better than zero chance that they may become outlawed for certain uses in the future, rendering them less desirable, which could cause them to rapidly drop in value as people who scare easily sell off to avoid what they see as an inevitable crash. Since there's no FDIC backing, any losses are the owner's to stomach. And it might be tough to sell a commodity that is rapidly losing value since only an idiot would buy such a thing... so if it starts to crash, that could be devastating, even if you try to mitigate your losses. Since there's nothing backing its value, there's nothing guaranteeing it, so if everyone tries to sell at once and no one is buying... where does the money come from to pay people for "coins" that there isn't any money behind? If a billion dollar's worth of Bitcoin were sold today, where would the billion dollars come from if no one wanted to buy what was being sold? All the greatness of Bitcoin (and other crypto) is tied to getting in early and often, and then hoping the value skyrockets. But at this point, if you aren't already a millionaire, you're probably wasting your money compared to the promise of a return. As of today, one Bitcoin is worth roughly $50k. If you were to buy $100 in Bitcoin today, you'd need the value of each coin to rise to $100k in order to turn that $100 into $200. That's a LOT of increase. Just to turn that $100 into $1k, the current value would need to rise to half a million dollars. Talk about inflation! But who is going to buy Bitcoin when it's valued at $500k? The only way it will be worth owning is if there's a way to spend it. So, unless the world has a currency revolution and starts accepting Bitcoin on the same level as "legitimate" currency, the only point in owning it will be in its (hopefully steady) value. Yeah. Bitcoin... the wave of the future!
