The Infinity line of speakers has always been under rated IMO. Some of the more musically pleasing speakers..If you have not heard the Infinity RS 4.5's bi-Amped with two Levinson Amplifiers you don't know what you are missing. Sweet Mids and highs and gut thumping low end.. fantastic listening to the Police's Driven to Tears. Would give some expensive loudspeakers today a run for their money.
infinity is all about transparency. B&W is all about pleasing sounds, non fatiguing and laid back British sound. infinity allows you to make the decisions by EQ. b&w already has been set to sound pleasant, only way around it is by redesigning the crossover. i prefer a speaker that allows me to make those decisions, and delivers sound as it is. cheers from a person who has own B&W Speakers for the last 15 years, and recently has moved to infinity and exploring other brands.
No question infinity sound is much cleaner. I have the overture 3's from 1998 1800 a piece back then. Would not trade them for anything out there today...
The infinities usually have harsh highs. The B&W have always sweet highs and they never get fatiguing. I would recommend the B&W. If you need more highs you can always add them from the receiver. Actually, my B&W's sound HUGE when I add 2db's high and 2db's in bass!
The infinity is light and airy while still delivering thrust in the lower frequencies, you can tame the tweet with eq. The B&W is what it is, very flat and no dynamics.
I got the Infinity 20 and I was so surprised how good they sound. I bought them as a part of the whole system. I have them hooked up with a subwoofer so the base it’s not an issue. I’m planning to use the infinity alpha 50, but waiting on new tweeter to arrive. That was expensive tweeter $100. I wish somebody was selling them used… Unfortunately not available used. I have them hooked up to an NAD 3020 series 20. I surely don’t need a power amp for what I wanna achieve.
Had a few B&Ws myself and typically find them a bit lifeless. Must admit I think P4 is a good un though. My opinion the brand is a bit hyped by a supposed audiophile "elite" you know, those who have better hearing than the rest of us.
The infinity speakers are more brighter and bumped up in the treble and midrange. The bowers and Wilkins are flatter. I should know because I have the bowers and Wilkins 685 S2. Very good speakers.

@@Techscrews My beta made in Mexico in 2006. They are very well built, solid state made. When young i had JBL cause i liked the crispy sound and the bass they had. As i got older i looked for a more "realistic" sound. I thought of upgrading my Betas and went to sound test a lot of loudspeakers but i still keep mine. Of course this goes for me not for everybody.

On the video, it seems that the alpha 20's sound a little bit better and brighter than the B&W

Yes, in this way you can do objective testing. We use sony vegas, but you can use any video editing software.
Infinity speakers for the win. Way cleaner sound, the other speaker is darker all around.

Замените резисторы в цепи СЧ и ВЧ драйверов на качественные.
