This is the problem whenever we have one of these "snare battles": we usually have a hybrid versus a SWAC style line, and both lines have very predictable behavior. The hybrid line are going to play some very dense material that is pretty difficult and combines a good number of rudiments. It may or may not be dead clean, but you can tell the difficulty from the density. The SWAC line will say they're not playing rudiments because they can't see the rudiments in isolation. They will then generally run a solo that focuses either on one or only a couple of rudiments, and will say they are "choppy." Here we see this in play. The first three solos DOA ran were more dense and difficult than anything FVSU played, and they even played a grid that FVSU SHOULD know, but never returned it. After only about 3 minutes in, it was clear who the more advanced line was.
As much as ima Aggie 1st n foremost CS, I have to give to DOA, cleaned up a lot, not too much credit one our own gave them they swag frfr Aggie Pride💙💛
With watching all the way through. I feel like DOA stuff was simpler and fvsu rudiments had more flavor. Both were dirty at times but give me fvsu with more “diversity”. ….. shout out the dude at the bottom on fvsu side he never talked shii he let his sticks talk frfr

The same reason why skills challenges exist. The whole line is a machine: many intricate parts working together to perform a task Chamber ensembles exist. Why?? Why not have the whole symphony? Why debate the best centers of all time if it's not the while team? Why talk about ny or Texas if not the whole united states? I love seeing legacy hundreds of years later. Especially with black youth who enhanced it beyond measure

We're RUNNING IT ALL! #versatilty #execution #showmanship #pride Each section worked way too hard to not showcase the connections as individual sections and the section as a whole. On your logic...there are no drum battles...we only battle with the band. Which was an old school logic. Hella proud of you tho for getting the chance to play at an institution of higher education and Hella happy you came to an hbcu to do so
