This series feels pretty underrated and I hate that. I feel like people just compare this and anything like it to monster hunter and that’s the problem. I’ve played all three games this year and love em to death lol. This series deserves at least a bit more recognition.

Yea, people should view God Eater as the way it is, not as a substitute for Monster Hunter. I think both games are good in their own way. Personally, I really like the character design, the gameplay, the world building and the overall aesthetic of GE, have been a fan since Burst. Wish that the next GE games can be like Nier: Automata by bringing the older games to public attention.

@@wongwenkai9938 Hopefully the series will stay alive and get some attention. All we can do is hope really. I’ll never forget my experience with the games at the very least.

I like GE more than MH when it comes to gameplay. If GE games had as much content, then they'd easily be better imo.

Didn't play Monster Hunter because... I didn't like it as much as others. But GE is something else. Maybe you can say, the mechanic is like monster hunter, but its a different world. And I really like the world of GE since 2 years. And I really hope to see more from GE and also Code Vein since both had much potential, also together as one game. Story based

This radiates Anime Protagonist vibes: "This one fight. My body, Heart and Soul.... I PUT EVERYTHING ON THE LINE!"
Then again, this could also be said for the majority of GE's Banger of a Soundtrack, really felt like you put your all into creating a better future for everyone

What I love about God Eater music is how the main theme's leitmotif keeps showing up in the OST. It's brilliant.

i walked away from mh when freedom unite came out cause i was an idiot....then a game called project X zone introduced me to god eater i forgot until i got mh gen on 3ds and i still had my vita so i bought burst then on my 17th birthday....i bought GE:R and im glad to know and play this game series to this day and its very loose ties to code vein via a dyaus pita showing up in code vein for a cutscene. 3 was a bit of a departure but 1 and 2 hold a special place in my heart. that and all of the OSTS for all 3 games have been bangers man this series needs more recognition than just a "MH CLONE" it has some MH in its DNA but its very much a different beast like toukiden and unlike that one its still kicking.

It's kinda sad how underrated God Eater is compared to monhun.
Even though GE has better music, gameplay, enemy design.

I'd say gameplay and enemy design is up in the air, especially considering how differently they approach them. MonHun has better hit boxes and more variety, but GE has more fun movement. Big fan of both tbh.

It's a matter of marketing and exposure. You'll find cameos and references in anime for example of people playing the game or costume themes. Unlike GE. There's also the multiplayer aspect/ relatively frustration free ui for items/ and location design. GE is more story driven and singleplayer oriented than MH. For example one of my other favorites is Freedom Hunter and that had an even worse overall trend despite its nice design and story.

As a fan of both i would say better music yes, better gameplay no way, maybe you like more fast paced combat and bc of that you think is better, but in polishing MH is better. Enemy design... both are top to me, is a thing of tastes tho. I would say you are right until MH tri, but since P3rd MH has some godly designs too, just like God Eater. Both need a lot of recognition tho, MH got it with World, i really wish God Eater could get it with a 4th entry or something.

Depends on the player's taste. If they want a good enjoyable boss fights and good multiplayer experience then I'd say monster hunter.
But if you want a compelling story and solid single player experience then God Eater..

In my opinion, god eater has hands down the best music compared to monster hunter, and in that regard i'd even say that there's almost no competition. When it comes to gameplay, I'd say monster hunter as of now has the upper hand, but really only because world and rise was so smooth, and also because god eater 3 (in my opinion) was kinda dog shit. But if we compared the games before GE3 and Mhwib, god eater has the better combat. The fast paced fluidity of the movements was so good, and it still has that just rightttt amount of weight and chonkyness in its attacks which I prefer over the older monster hunter games. When it comes to enemy design, imma have to give it to monster hunter, not saying aragamis are bad, imo they have one of the best looking coolest jaw dropping monsters in all of videogames. It's just that monsters always have a personality and role to play in the ecosystems of monster hunter while still having that cool factor, while aragamis were just made to be sick as fuck. In terms of story, God eater has better story because unlike monster hunter, it actually has a story.
But those are just my opinions and thoughts on both games that i cherish very dearly.(i love god eater more tho)

now that i play this game again, i have to say the soundtrack in this game is way ahead of the gameitself. the game iis mediocre. combat have no tactical value, balance is a mess, brawl in a tiny park, monsters got no telegraph at all you either melee tank/hug-ass/shoot from a far, story way too sappy filled with nonsensical plot, setting is too chuuni-edgy, title is ridiculous. so far there is no other game have more ridicilous title than 'GOD EATER'. everytime i tell my friend to play god eater they always end up so confused
but still this game have special place in my heart because this is my childhood friend.
