Amazing Grace is Masterful, they all shine…
Omg, Scott is having so much fun in this video! I love his humour XD
THEY HAVE SO MANY GREAT SONGS/VIDEOS LIKE WAVING THROUGH A WINDOW, SHALLOW, HAVANA, COME ALONG, BE MY EYES, RUN TO YOU, BLINDING LIGHTS, CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT FROM LION KING, DREAMS. YOU HAVE BARELY SCRATCHED THE SURFACE.
Their live version of "Hallelujah" is amazing. Also, a song that really features Mitch's talent is "Gold."
I love Gold by PTX! The original, not so much. But PTX is amazing with it!
@@shilohauraable I like the original, it's okay, but PTX blows it out the water (another song by PTX lol)
The great thing about PTX is they let whoever has the best voice for the part sing and appear to leave egos at the door.
Yep! The only time I've heard anything different is with Problem. They thought they were going to have Mitch sing lead but he wanted to do the rap. It turned into cool look at Scott's high register with Mitch's show-stopping Iggy Amelia cover 😍
Everyone’s reaction is “I DON’T WANT IT TO END” and I feel that lol.
Since you mentioned Freddie Mercury, you should definitely listen to their Bohemian Rhapsody cover! You will go nuts!
Absolutely!!! Mitch is the best in that one!!!
Mitch and Kristen both change their looks very often, if you have to ask, the answer is yes it’s Mitch. Lol
Kirstie....rhymes with thirsty.
The best video to appreciate Matt's full talent is You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch. Sound of Silence also really shows off his voice.
Yes, totally agree!!
I highly recommend Mitch singing "Your Power" (Billie Eilish cover) with his music. He played piano, add strings and mixed.
Yes! He needs to hear this. Blew me away.
I'm obsessed with Mitch's version, I really like it much better than the original.
Yes, please listen to this cover.
He also has the cover "Graveyard" and "Find You".
His voice is so beautiful.
OMG. Mitch does actually BLOW Billy Eillish out of the water 💦. Mitch Owns this song for sure. 👏🙏❤️🇬🇧
To help with the timeline of the videos you are watching, Avi left the group in 2017. He found & recommended Matt to take his place & Matt to his credit has done a remarkable job😎
There is a pop spring concert that’s live.
Also their cover of Gold is amazing .
Yup, just found the Popspring Festival video this week - loads of fun and great performances. ruclips.net/video/7GMHqYxpnzk/видео.html
2nd for Popspring! Recording quality is fantastic and you look at some of their originals. Also it's the best version of can't sleep love since Mitch is doing the rap. Love it so much
I vote for Pop Spring Concert live! Great mix of originals & Michael Jackson covers! 💖
@tomtuffnuts, if you like Mitch, you really should listen to “amazing grace” it shows off his mid range. It’s so good. As well the cover of bohemian rhapsody will leave you speechless. And for an overall great song is the cover of John Lennon’s “imagine” has such a great and amazing message.
Gold is a live PTX performance. It’s fabulous. There is also a live AHA . There is a live Popspring concert with 4 songs.
Great reaction…I wouldn’t have imagined you to be a 90’s dance music guy lol. As far as I know, the songs Blue and Believe are the only ones they’ve ever used a vocoder on, and they did it to honor the originals.
It''s Kirstin...and beatboxer? You're right! Kevin. New bass...is Matt. I think they used the auto-tune as homage to Cher's "Believe".
12:03 - oh my god, HOW did I not notice that before, when it's such a cool effect? The left-to-right swipe on Matt, that turns his jacket from red to blue! **jaw drops.**
If you want to see more of the newer ones with Matt, I can recommend 'The Sound of Silence,' 'Amazing Grace' ( you'll get to hear Mitch in his lower chest voice in that one - and of course he absolutely SLAYS it,) 'When The Party's Over,' 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' and 'Mad World.' Oh, and if you need help being completely won over by Matt, you should try 'You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch' - he sings the lead in that one, and he just OWNS it. It showcases everything new that he brings to Pentatonix, and that makes him not just 'the replacement for Avi.'
And don't feel bad about having Mitch as a favourite - it's easily done. 😁 He's also just put out a cover of Billie Eilish's new single 'Your Power,' and... well, it has to be heard to believe that a mortal human can sound that good.
A good live Mitch video is Aha- Singapore- The Star Vista.
Absolutely! Avi too! 💖
The Avi and Mitch show. Starting with the Avi gut kick and ends with the ultimate Mitch slap.
I am not sure some one who is this new to the group is ready to see that.. I am a fan, and I was still stunned.
@@hawkthorn33 and usually I recommend that newcomers wait, get an appointment with their doctor, install seat belts, have paramedics on stand-by.
I've seen reactors clutch chests, jump out of their chairs, scream, and also not be able to get back to reacting for literally months.
Yes, Mitch is our little chameleon, only the great voice never changes.. I second the recommandations for his song "Your power", it will leave you speechless! Great reaction btw! 😊
Gauging from what you've already reacted to, you would really enjoy their cover of Queen's BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
I agree with you, sir !!.....Mitch has always been my favorite !!!......such sass and cuteness and the voice, OMG !!
For both Mitch and Avi, I'd recommend their cover of Gold by Kiiara, and their original Love Again. Kirsten singing lead - their original Be My Eyes, or their cover of Rather Be by Clean Bandit. More Scott? Try New Rules x Are You That Somebody or Radioactive with Lindsey Sterling (it's on her page). Just a few suggestions for ya. Great reaction, thanks!!
ALL excellent recomendations. I would add Say Something as another must hear Kirsten lead from the Avi years, and one of Avi's most heartfelt vocals as well.
They are amazing live!!!!!! Best concert I've been to.
Huge fan of your reactions, and I always look forward to watching the new ones.
I will say a few things based on your comments through the video to help you enjoy some more of their stuff. The main singers are, as you said, Mitch, Scott and Kirstie, but what PTX are really, REALLY good at is being able to blow you away with either everyone getting vocal time, such as how they did in Hallelujah, or putting one person at the front and letting them take the lead whilst still blowing you away. Some good examples of this:
Scott takes the first lead in Sound of Silence, singing in his lower range, and then comes in later with his mid-range "normal". Not taking the full lead, but it's a good example of one person doing it.
Say Something puts Kirstie at the front and centre, she sings most of it herself and gets her time to really BELT out the notes she's singing, it's definitely one of my favourites and I consider it a must-watch. Rather Be is another where she goes up front and does her thing.
I'd say that Scott gets the spotlight in Can't Hold Us, but Mitch also kills it (whilst rapping, no less).
If you want Mitch at his best and most versatile, you'll struggle to find better than Bohemian Rhapsody. He takes a lot of the hardest to sing bits and hits a genuinely glass-shattering high note that will shock you.
Would love to see some more reactions, but if there's one more than any other, I would recommend Say Something. It's a whole different genre and it's genuinely one of the best songs I think that they've done. Kirstie is incredible, Mitch and Scott play perfect supporting roles, Avi sings and provides amazing bass as always, and Kevin plays Cello and beatboxes at the same time.
Every reactor I've seen that listens to this video says "That's it?" "Noooo!" "I don't want it do end!" "I want to hear more!" lol! me too! This was amazing.
I love Avi, too. He's my favorite in PTX and out. That said, I do enjoy Matt. He has a lovely voice and he's always so danged happy!
Pentatonix at Popspring 2016 is one of their best live videos, shot and recorded by MTV so the sound is great.
Mitch is a counter-tenor-explains how he so easily articulates those high notes!
Kirstin (also known as Kirstie) changes her looks in almost every video or tour as well. Scott's facial hair comes and goes but he mostly looks about the same, as do Kevin and Matt.
Great react as always. Matt the "new" bass has been with Pentatonix since 2017. He is not so new anymore. I feel he better compliments them. I do love when your wife reacts with you.
The pleasure with which you reacted to this song is just what we Pentaholics wanted and hoped for. Excellent reaction to a wonderful upbeat song.
Must see: Aha Singapore Star Vista Live
Concert fan cam totally awesome!
You're right about Kevin's name. For Kirstin, the important thing is I before R. The usual rhyming memory aid is "thirsty for Kirstie" though her full name is equally OK.
And of course they had to pay tribute to Cher with super-obvious autotune for her big hit.
The best live video to react to next would be Aha! From Singapore at the Star Vista, it perfectly shows Mitch and Avi
I could have sworn I thought you had listened to them singing "Sound of Silence", then realised it was the Disturbed version, Matt is the bass in the Pentatonix version, But you have a fine list to go through.
One thing about this group, they don't let egos get in the way of quality. They make group decisions on leads, and they all know the value of the whole to achieve what they want to achieve.
I’d love to see you react to their “Evolution of” videos… they’re all shot live, and really showcase how crazy talented they are.
The evolution medleys are all live and one shots.
Happy Mitchgiving! Mitch really gives it in this one. Let's be honest...they all do...they always do...but Mitch did so much of the iconic sounds of the 90's dance songs! Absolute shout out to Kevin in Matt too. Well...like I said...they're all incredible! Hi Kirsten and Scott...you both killed it too. 🙂
Loved your reaction. I enjoyed watching your face. Mitch face!!!!! I thought Mitch sounded EXACTLY like Cher. You were very appreciative for sure. Avi helped pick Matt to replace himself.
I'd love to hear them produce full-length versions of all these songs.
You can always tell what PTX era it is by Mitchs look. Kirstin looks dif a lot also. Scott I’m pretty sure was just trying to look “90s”
you said you must check out their live performances SO LOOK NO FURTHER ! "popspring" shows their individual talents to perfection four songs 3 original songs and the michael jackson medley then look for hallelujah live and also them in a dressing room doing Daft punk live AMAZING
You need to watch the cover of "Your Power" Mitch did recently.. so hauntingly beautiful.
You'll be AMAZED at how much their live performances sound like their Studio cuts! Try HALALUIJH from their Christmas show. Keep em coming! 😀
Another good video to check out for Mitch's extreme talent is their Superfruit video doing Defying Gravity from Wicked. Superfruit is a side project formed by Mitch and Scott.
Aha! The starvista video version. It's the best performance of a Mitch heavy song
I agree about Mitch, he’s so talented. Check out his recent solo cover of your power by Billie Eilish. It will give you chills x
Great reaction. You got yourself a new sub. Most fans do have their favorite. Mine was always Mitch. Then Matt joined the band in 2017 and I fell hard for him. Lol. Now my ears & eyes go straight to him. His voice is like a harm hug and his deep rich bass blends so incredibly good. I think better than Avi's did. And he is always always smiling. He shines. You'll see what I mean once you react to newer stuff. There's a lot of excellent examples of live recordings. Two of my favs which include Matt are Evolution of Rihanna and Evolution of Ariana Grande. Everybody gets a solo in those and the arrangements are awesome. Can't wait to see more PTX reactions!
You need to react to a double play of Hallelujah - Studio recording, and also the Live Christmas concert. If you have time, there is also a VIP Private performance without mic's!
You should check out Adam Lambert singing Believe for Cher at the Kennedy Center Honors. Beautiful rendition for sure❣️
Good enough to make Cher wipe tears from her eyes, and be the first to stand for the ovation. Adam's interpretation shows just how good a song it is.
I believe this was one of their quarantine songs, each recording separately in their own spaces.
Oh!! Their performance of Star Wars music at the American music awards, I think it was. THAT’s a live performance!!! The orchestra comes in but they are epic!!!
You should check out Mitch's new solo cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish. The new bass is Matt, you were right about the beatboxer being Kevin, and her name is Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty). Another good one for Mitch is Aha live in Singapore. Great reaction!🥰
5 + minutes of pure joy!
Their harmonies are Amazing but remember Scott was born in 1991 and Mitch in 1992 so they didn't go to the Clubs every night. They met doing the play, "Annie" and Mitch met Kirstin around 8 years old. They were all Community Arts Theater kids and their parents are friends. Kevin's story is just as amazing since he just graduated from Yale and considering pre-med when Scott found him on RUclips. Kevin is very Religious and was afraid he couldn't commit to a band until Scott assured him that it would work. If you want to do a really DEEP dive there are a couple of Pentacons in 2016 (Avi) and 2018 (Matt) with their parents. There are also a few "Introducing Pentatonix" clips including one devoted to Matt 2017-2021.
Here are some suggestions for their live music:

Great reaction, enjoyed it. I too love the sound they had with Avi, but I'm very much enjoying Matt and his sunny personality as well. He fit in nicely after Avi left.
If you want something live, you might want to check out their Evolution of ... series - just pick your favorite artist. These were filmed and recorded in a studio in one take, so it's not live on stage, but nonetheless sung live, not prerecorded. And the sound quality is good. Also their very first videos were filmed live, but the sound quality is not always the best.
Mitch is my favorite too; I could listen to his voice all day. Have a look at his few solo works out there: Graveyard, Find You, and most recently an amazing rendition of Billie Eilish's Your Power.
If you like Mitch's voice you should react to Mitch's cover of "Your Song" by Billie Eilish.. and their live performance of "Aha!" at the Starvista, Singapore
Tom...just when you THINK you know how fantastic this group is they will surprise you!!! So many more for you to watch!! When you BELIEVE you are ready (i promise you wont be) check out their LIVE version of Aha from the Star Vista, Singapore :) Hoping your family is staying safe and healthy
Great Reaction as Usual!!!! I'm more of an 80s girl, but I Also Love most 90s music!!!! I Love Everyone in this group, including Avi, But Mitch Has the most Gorgeous Voice Ever, a lot of times when he sings like in "Hallelujah, "Amazing Grace", "Mary, Did You Know?", & "Imagine" I just want to Cry because his voice is so Beautiful & Angelic!!!!!
You should check out Mitch Grass's cover of "Your Power"!!!!
And to hear more of Matt Sallee (new bass) check out PTX's mashup "New Rules x Are You That Somebody"!!!!
I believe mitchs highest recorded note is a B7, which is a whistle note only a few notes away from the highest recorded note from a male. One time when they were singing their parts the girl kirstie tried to sing his part and said "that's high" lol.
Coffee in Bed. It’s an original and it’s KILLER!!!
You need to watch their Bohemian Rhapsody....you'll be blown away
Loved your reaction!
You should try their Hallelujah Christmas special, Gold and Aha singapore (Kevin was putting away his cello so he is not seen in the first part of the video, but he later joins them on stage to the side) if you want to check out some of their good live videos)
The star war tribute was awesome,at music award show.
So, please go back and give a listen to HAVANA, CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT?, LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDOW, HAPPY NOW, and also RATHER BE. (And it's Kirsty, rhymes with thirsty, who is the main soloist in Rather Be, which is why it's so good. But filmed it on their first tour to Japan, and it's a fabulous look at the old market in Tokyo, as well.)
Yes, Mitch changes everything from video to video. I fear he may be in the witness protection program, but has to learn better what “hiding” actually means! 😂😂😂
Kirstin Maldonado...and new bass--Matt Sallee
If you want to see a PTX live watch Gold and you can see what each person does in the song.
I need a "Waiting for tonight" cover by PTX!
Kirstie (Kirstin) sounds like "thirsty".
New bass: Matt Sallee
Beatboxer is indeed Kevin. 😊🖒🖒
Everyone wants them to do a full cover of Cher's song too LOL
The guys and Lady you mentioned. Look for MORE PTX SONGS. They do all play leading rolls. Get RUclips diving. Honestly, you’ll find loads, videos, live performances, just seek and you will find. There’s also on some, behind the the scenes. Enjoy 😉 😊😅👏🙏❤️👀🇬🇧🇬🇧🤷♀️
Mitch is channeling his inner Al Pachino Scarface
Try Avi Kaplan’s channel “Change on the Rise”. I think it’s powerful. This is post PTX
Like others have mentioned, if you want to see/hear some quality live PTX performances, you should check out the Popspring 2016 video: ruclips.net/video/7GMHqYxpnzk/видео.html It's actually a compilation of 4 performances recorded from their headlining act in the 2016 Popspring music festival in Japan that took place in 3 cities. The songs are Cracked (original), Can't Sleep Love (original), Evolution of Michael Jackson (medley cover), and Water (original).
If you like Mitch, during Covid he did a cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish that is stunning. Love your channel.
You Got MITCH Slapppped.
Kirstin and mitch are the chameleons of the group
I really love and miss Avi, but thoroughly love Matt, he has his own strengths. Matt is not really "new".. he joined in 2017
Mitch, Scott, KIRSTIE, Kevin, Matt
It is Kevin...
pretty sure that's tony montana's suit mitch is wearing here
Avi left in 2017. This was just released a couple of months ago. You've missed a LOT in between. Mitch & Kirstie look different in every video. Scott, Kevin & Matt (as well as Avi) have always kept a fairly consistent look...although Avi looks a LOT different since he left the group. Think Viking troubadour! You probably reacted in the past mostly to songs that featured Scott, but they've always been an equal partnership. In the earlier days, Kirstie only took a few leads because she was very shy and not very self confident in her own singing abilities due to some VERY bad advice she had gotten from some vocal coaches in her youth and high school years (largely due to a certain physical issue she had with her mouth and face). Since releasing her successful solo album in 2017 and her critically acclaimed stint on Broadway, she has gained a TON of self confidence and is, in many ways, taking over the group now. She wrote and took the lead on half of the songs on their latest album of all original songs, The Lucky Ones, which was released in February, and is their masterpiece. Matt is not the basso profundo that Avi is, but in a lot of ways he has actually fit in with the group a lot better. He comes from the same musical theater background as Mitch, Scott & Kirstie, and his personality meshes very well with them.
Aki Kaplan. "Change on the Rise".
Matt is bass and
Kevin is beatbox...
KIRstin.
Mitch does not have to use falsetto, his range goes even higher than that.
Skip ahead about 3 minutes in to see him actual start to react.
You don’t need to make videos difficult. 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤
Please react to CLUTCH (the best band you've never heard of ©). I suggest for your first go, either Electric Worry (their most well-known song), Burning Beard, 10001110101 or A Quick Death In Texas.
FYI...this same comment will appear ONLY if I have watched your reaction video. I am not here to spam your channel...I just want to help get a great band some much deserved recognition. P.S....I will always give your reactions a thumbs-up, even if I don't care for or like the band or song you react to...because I like you and your channel.
Cheers!
You keep saying your bad with names but each time you are saying the correct name lol 😅
This is a link to a video that is titled Mitch Grassi vocal range. There are actually several videos about niches voiceruclips.net/video/X4YjMKjLkZ0/видео.html now I have a another link or share so I have to do it in another comment
When you continue PTX Reaction Videos just a small reminder that Mitch and Kirstin are Chameleons...
Do you know? Your the second person that has said Mitch’s look 👀 if Freedy. But he does. 😊😅❤
Here's a couple of comments.
Matt Sallee, the new bass, is different from Avi and while we all miss Avi, Matt brings a great voice and tremendous energy to the group. Avi actually helped him out from those who auditioned for the spot. Check out Matt's bass part in their mashup of New Rules / Are You That Somebody. To satisfy your Mitch desires check out this private/off mic performance of Valentine
ruclips.net/video/ARRWlFndZkA/видео.html
Definitely feed your Mitch fetish with 'Gold', I recommend watching Kiara's original first if your not familiar with the song. Also check out their evolution videos!
If you want an amazing 90's medley then check out Todric Hall 4the90's. You won't be disappointed.
how dare u prefer things?!
It's not a falsetto...he's a counter tenor
Not for a reaction, necessarily, but just fun FYI - ruclips.net/video/YfzuEzzB6Zk/видео.html. - Mitch Grassi range examples
Where are the whistle notes?
