  • Relax and drift off to sleep as I show you and talk about this TV guide magazine from 1971.
My videos are best enjoyed using headphones or earbuds.
This is video number 540 of this channel.
The videos on my RUclips channel portray some of the typical day-to-day activities that I do for relaxation. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Too much stress is harmful to your well-being and in today’s fast-paced world, stress management is more important than ever, and so I hope this ASMR video acts as a stress reliever for those watching and a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time falling asleep.
If you enjoy my videos and feel like you get something of value from them, you might consider becoming an official “patron” of my channel over at my Patreon page. I was a kid in the 90s which was sort of the tail end of TV Guide (though I think it actual still exists!). I remember that my Nana got them. I dont remember how old I was when I was staying at her house and she told me what it was and we went through it to see what was on TV. We wanted to watch Welcome Back Kotter on Nick at Nite. I have several memories from what feels like a summer when I was over there a lot where we sat and went through the TV Guide to decide what to watch togwher. And I guess I associate the TV Guide with her.

You remind me a lot of my grandpa. He passed away and we were never as close as I wish we were, but for some reason your voice reminds me of his and it is very comforting. He was in the military and then worked on cars so he had a big garage and tinkered with many things. Looking back he always had the answers to everything because he experienced life in such a variety of ways. People like you and him make me want to carry on legacy and history. Maybe just because I am a young man who is lost at times looking for answers. Thanks for your videos. They mean a lot to us.

Saw another comment in here similar, but you remind me a lot of my grandfather. He was always knowledgeable about a lot, and every time I see one of your videos pop up on my page I make sure to watch. Always cool to learn about all these random things as a teenager. Been here for a few years, and just wanted to thank you!

In 8’s - 90’s Lassie was popular in my country. My uncle bought a dog that looked exactly like Lassie and named it also Lassie. We took lassie with us during morning walk and all the people around including the kids followed us to say hi to lassie 😅 the kids probably thought it’s the same dog

The tv guide we used to navigate our 3 channel tv, was the one that came free in our local newspaper. My dad was frugal when it came to certain things, but we had everything we needed, along with some niceties. Things were simpler, our family was very close, and times were just good.

13:56 This is a promo for the San Francisco Giants game on KTVU 2, KTVU was the flagship station for the Giants for many years beginning from when they moved to San Francisco from NYC. That "2" logo was replaced in 1974 or so by the "Laser 2" or "Circle 2" logo still in use to this day. KTVU was one of the first Fox affiliates in the 1980s and is now owned and operated directly by Fox.

Loved the cheers and jeers page, crossword puzzle and I'm an 80s kid and tbh getting rid of cigarette ads on TV and magazines did nothing to lessen smoking. Notice all the reading involved in ads...not like today where it's all bright colors in your face sometime idk what they're even advertising!
