I never forgot, everyone got called out of school first thing in the morning. As a 6 year old i didnt comprehend that the rest of my life was going to be lived under a microscope. We take for granted how lucky we are, i had a good day that day. Went down stairs and played a 50 turn game of Mario Party 4 because our parents told us we might not be going back to school for a few days. I noticed buildings on fire on the TV. Which didnt seem out of the norm to me for what the news would show. The two of us were hardly alarmed.
Me too, I went to the 9/11 memorial a week ago and before then I never really took it how it should have been, but now I tear up every time I think about the tragedy
I remember being in school, fifth grade, at the time. We were all called into the auditorium and watched the towers collapse after the second plane hit on a projection tv. They wanted us all aware of the situation, but didn't expect the Towers to collapse, killing thousands of innocent people. Life changed dramatically since then; that was the end of the carefree days. Like how the Deux Ex developers removed them due to system limitations., made a backstory similar to real events two years prior and had to change it, if I ain't mistaken
That's correct - Deus Ex came out in July 2000, and the system limitation was specifically that the file for the New York skyline was a lot larger if it had the World Trade Center in it, as without it they could have a shorter bit of skyline that was repeated along the background, rather than one large file that had the towers in one place. And I believe the main real event that inspired the game's backstory was a car bombing of the towers in 1993 that killed six people, injured more than a thousand, and caused damage across five levels of the building.
I know this has become a bit of a meme this day and age. But this hits very differently to those of us who awoke on the morning of September 11th and saw this unfold. Seeing these sorts of things makes me feel a sense of dread deep in my stomach. I appreciate dark humour and all, but I don’t think I will ever be able to apply it to the horror that I saw broadcasting through my television set that morning.
I agree. I don’t want to ruin what is obviously a joke. This just hit too hard for me. It’s the kind of thing that sticks with you “remembering where you were when 9/11 happened.” For my parents it was “remembering where you were when President Kennedy was assassinated.” I lived less than 40 minutes from the towers and several of my children’s friends lost a parent or family member in this tragedy.
Not only that but the fact jet fuel cannot melt steel beams, and that you could literally see the demolition charges go off on the corners of the towers, and that guy falling out of the tower, and george bush covering it all up... yeah, i'm surprised the world is seeing this as a joke. It should of been enough to destroy America from the inside out over how screwed up it is. Like seriously, terrorists from other countries are not the problem. The terrorists ARE the government. Joker: “Very poor choice of words”
After that, everyone was suspicious of everyone else & politics took over many people's lives. Our turning point as an empire in decline.

Osama bin Laden: I like practical effects more
RUclips decided to recommend this to me 3 years later and I’m all for it
Wow I love how realistic they went for this art
Honestly everyone thought these were ugly and wanted them gone
But nobody talks about that anymore
I know this has become a bit of a meme this day and age. But this hits very differently to those of us who awoke on the morning of September 11th and saw this unfold. Seeing these sorts of things makes me feel a sense of dread deep in my stomach. I appreciate dark humour and all, but I don’t think I will ever be able to apply it to the horror that I saw broadcasting through my television set that morning.
Completely understand, I too think that the Twin Tower memes/jokes are a product of desensitized people.
It hits differently for those who were in the planes
Not only that but the fact jet fuel cannot melt steel beams, and that you could literally see the demolition charges go off on the corners of the towers, and that guy falling out of the tower, and george bush covering it all up... yeah, i'm surprised the world is seeing this as a joke. It should of been enough to destroy America from the inside out over how screwed up it is. Like seriously, terrorists from other countries are not the problem. The terrorists ARE the government. They are one and the same.
What about the horror caused by America after, but I'm sure u couldn't care less
