I got catfished, ended up being a 40something year old Pakistani man who was about 5ft. I didn't want to be rude, so I stayed in the frozen yogurt shop with him, while he talked about his "dj career".. His breath smelled like dirty diapers, and he blamed it on his toothpaste lol.. . These guys were absolutely deliberately dramatizing the entire process, the documentary as well as this short epilogue. I seriously doubt Nev was genuinely fooled by the Meghan Faccio ruse. Most likely they caught on to the "Abby" ruse at some point and decided to play along and see how far they could go with it.
So I am pretty sure they added in that hug and awkwardness with Aimee on purpose.

I met a girl online on OKC and we began emailing for months, sending eachother pictures and then making videos for eachother...After months of communicating everyday, I bought a plane ticket to Houston, where she lived, and it was expansive since I live in France. I went to go visit her and at the airport I was walking around trying to find her, then I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked back and there she was....the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.
I spent two weeks in Houston, we fell in love and I proposed to her, I had to come back to France although I almost stayed in the US to be with her....once I came back we were thinking about what to do, she had a job, a car, and friends/family there and I had my mom in France and didnt just want to leave her alone. So, she decided to move with me to France, she sold her car, left most of her belongings, and quit her job just to come be with me....now, we live together and I know we were meant to be for eachother. If it wasnt for OKC, I dont think we would have ever crossed eachother from 5,000 miles away.....I was one of the lucky ones :)

Am I the only one that is thinking of an entirely different idea to get a guy? What if you're a really beautiful girl who is using a profile of an ugly girl instead of her regular cute face and you talk to a not so bad looking guy and persuade him to go JUST for a date and nothing else? The reason for posting an ugly picture is to try not to attract unwanted guys only looking for a hot girl to take advantage of. Imagine the surprised reaction from the guy when he realizes the girl in real life is actually very beautiful.

Because the problem with posting pictures which shows you at the best angles possible is that people aren't in reality like that at all. So if the guy is just a meat hunter he is obviously will go for the girl with the best presentation. But if the guy is with a deeper consciousness than that he would be more up for meet up. and if he sees a gorgeous girl in front of him, who chose him, it is just a bonus . I was catfished in 2013. This boy who was supposedly 17 followed me on Twitter and we started talking from then. We mainly spoke on kik that gave me the chance to send pictures and receive them, he told me he had cancer and that his mum was dead but a few days later on his Instagram he posted a picture of his "mum" and his caption stated it was his mum's wedding that day. After I figured it out I felt upset as I felt so dependent on this boy, when I approached him he told me to die and even tried to get the police on me. He really hurt me but now I hope I can help people finding out catfishes in the future😊

I got catfished and ended up with a 50 y/o man who lived with his 77 year old mother, he worked at a used car dealership and when we finally met, he came out of the hotel lobby standing 5'7" and weighing 400#. I was shocked. He told me he was a member of a gym in Portland Oregon, was a successful executive with Lithia Honda, owned his own home and was my age 40(at the time). But having the husband there provided a safe buffer.

I wished the law gave more protection against these scam artists. I wished it's illegal to use someone's personal possessions such as pictures to pretend to be someone else maybe then most of those subhumans will think twice before they do this to other people.
It is illegal in the UK, I'm not sure what the law is in lather places though! Someone used my pictures and some of my mates pictures to make it look like they were real, as soon as I found out all I had to do is report them to the police and the accounts got deleted and the person using our pictures had to pay us compensation and write an apology letter :/

There are two aspects of a relationship. Physical and mental. A picture is no different from seeing someone in real life (besides the fact that you see less). When you're lying in bed thinking of a person you care about, you don't just think of a puff of smoke with a personality. You think of their image and how wonderful both their image and personality is. The only two differences between online dating and real life dating are 1) you can connect much deeper in person as you can actually do more things in real life. 2) you can much more easily put up a false identity online.

When I was 17 I met this very cute Afghan guy online who was very nice and kind, he even introduced me to his mom telling that we were going to get married etc. All this went on for several months until one day he finally sent his pic and OMG!!
