This is the only playthrough I've felt safe watching. Even some of my favourite DA streamers have begun mocking or tearing it apart because it has inclusive options. It's devastating to see as a superfan since DAO release. From one DAO fan to another, thank you for giving this game a chance and for treating it fairly. It has deep flaws, but great strengths, too. I want people to like it, and if not that, then at least come into it without prejudice and move on to something they'll enjoy instead of ruining it for others and hurting people in the process. Your character is indeed fire emoji 10/10. Also 6:42:51 I saw it. I saw it all.
What really bothers me is the people pretending that the last 3 games weren’t also deeply flawed in their own various ways. Veilguard improved on so many different aspects that the previous games lacked, but yes it also dropped the ball in some ways too. Still an extremely playable game and honestly the most enjoyable combat so far.
Agreed, it is a flawed game and it has many shortcomings, but it is a fun game. We should voice our concerns about the writting after how the company decided to fire writers near the end of the project, but what is happening is not voicing concerns, it's full out haterage and most of the vocal people do not care about the quality at all, only about the non binary characters. Also everyone yells that the game costed so much so it should be better and forget that is false statement - these costs were not for one, but 2 games. THe first version was supposed to be mulitplayer experience, which was completely scrapped :/
There's a youtuber named Michael Bryan. Has like 30k followers, I think. I came across his shorter edits of his Origins, DA2 and Inquisition playthroughs (he also has the livestreams up if you want to want the entirety). He hadn't ever played the game series before, started Origins in August this year! So a LOT to absorb haha. He is SO wholesomely enthusiastic about the lore and the world. It's been incredibly lovely to watch, he is the only content creator I've consistently watched up till i finished my own playthrough. I'm excited to watch this playthrough! Thank you for your comment! It helped me make my decision to dedicate my time or not lol

There are for sure a few things they could have done better, but the amount of vitriol that I’ve seen since release is wild. Opinions on the game seem so polarised, Ive felt like I can’t trust reviews at all - watching a bit of gameplay from someone coming at it with an open mind has helped me a lot (especially as I’m someone new to DA with no particular expectations). I will totally go for a part 2, still playing the game my self so taking others playthroughs slowly to avoid spoilers. Some take this game so harshly because they want another Dragon age origins which i doubt will ever happen again. Its best to just have fun with it for what it is. I can't imagine playing this and not playing inquisition lol but yes the Inquisitor was the last MC and Solas was a companion in that. It was a big reveal that Solas was the Dread Wolf elven god lol at least to me. I do hope you have fun with the game.

I've been wanting to get this game so bad! But unfortunately I have an older Xbox and I'm also a college student (so I can't afford a new one) So it was nice to see a chill playthrough.

If you like battle games that allow romancing/friending comrades, I recommend games from the Fire Emblem series. Sometimes, your relationship with a character even affects whether or not they die in the story! You can have every character form relationships amongst each other, so it's a lot of fun 😊

Actually… wasn’t Varric’s hair lighter in the Origins? I remember him having warm blond hair, a bit orange/honey coloured 🤔 Here he has very dark hair… this made me think: do dwarves in Thedas turn dark-haired as they age instead of becoming grey haired? 😅
I will definitely watch part 2! I'm playing it myself, as I played all previous DA and all DLCs; mixed feelings in the beginning but starting to like the game more and more the further I go :)

Its so sad that people who make this stuff get so much hate. I mean even if you don't like it REAL people spent a lot of time on it so one channel during silent appreciation like this is cool. Creating modern games isnt a easy job
I'm not defending this game for everything, it deifnitely has faults, but just a repsonser to your comments at 4:32 - you chose, in the "pick your team" screen, to travel directly to the quest, rather than go to the crossroads etc. So, you can travel to quests naturally, and in fact for a lot of them, you do. Also, Harding and Illario literally just said the prison was underwater then youre like "how are we just, underwater now?"
Yes, the game has been review bombed, but not because there’s anything wrong with the game. There are just some really loud people who are upset that there are queer characters in it (which is a very ridiculous reason to be upset).
I'm queer and I don't like it for a number of reasons, the story, complete change to game play mechanics, and the party system are just some of them. If it was a new ip, it would be an okay game, but this is not Dragon Age. Yes, are there people being hateful to the game for stupid reasons, yes, but there are also valid things actual fans don't like.

2hrs in - are they targeting you because of the difficulty setting you chose? I don't play games (no access to consoles or a PC) but I love to watch, so no bias here, and not a lot of knowledge. But I love watching you play instead!

Seems like a cool game! It’s really just the voice acting that bothers me, but I’m also used to the outstanding cast of bakery’s gate so maybe I’m judging too harshly
The game has been getting hate from people who scream about the ‘woke mob’ etc. or crazed fans who have memorised all the lore and are unhappy that characters may have developed over 10 in game years. I’ve been playing and it’s been really entertaining, there’s are a couple issues like in any game but very good overall.
i am gay and cant stand a game. infantile dialouges, sometimes even out of place, like they ar emade by puberty inmature kids or by someone who never talked to other humans or went to an actual date with another human.. not feeling part of that world at all, so boring i almost felt a sleep, whole ui is like taken from hogwarts legacy, too long and too boring cut scenes wich with time become cringy. almost no story, too preachhy, not for anyone under at least 16, fightning system is also lame.. game is literal trash.. too agressive in sending us a message instead of actual game story, too preachy like we all are idiots.. not to mention outside west and west europe game will be banned completly or banned for minors. so they set them selves for a failure, coz well west is minority of global trade and global gaming community.. and game is bad.. i know so many people who had no issues with last of us, baldures gate, tell me why lif eis strange and many other games with lgb content, but cant stand this one. and many are actually young people, not like me old gezzer who plays games since age 7, so for over 30 years i am in gaming, cant digest this game and they did play and enjoy in many games with lgb content or lgb charchters and side charachters.. even know some guys, not african americans coz they are neither african or american but live in europe born and raised, whos skin tone is darker and cant stand black elves in game...

And also people who create a full review based only on 2 -3 hours of playing of around 60 hours game (depending on the person it can be over 100) this game is slower to take off, but still this is not a lot of time for most game. If I was to decide if I'm gonna play BG3 after just 2-3 hours (so in my case barely after tutorial) I would have to say a definite no 😅
not to mention people who are super upset you can't be an evil donkey hole while playing a character who was literally especially chosen for their potential to be a hero and for their moral compass 😅
Game was review bombed because it has non-binary main character and because some gaming channels jumped on hate wagon (because negative content creates more engagement unfortunately) and started nitpicking every flaw and presenting it as if it was the major part of the whole game and when fell short made up some more
The story is mediocre, they butchered the setup from the last game, the dialogue is horrendous they constantly repeat what’s happening instead of adding anything new. The gameplays is boring there are no puzzles just pick and drop item here. Combat is flashy yet overtime reveals to be repetitive and boring. Characters act child like or talk like a marvel character. The game is okay but for a sequel to a 4 part series of a known company built on the best story and characters it’s a far cry from it. Yet with all these short comings they made sure to stuff as much gender politics in as they could.
@@Tate_THG There are like 10 minutes dealing with gender thoughts in a 100+ hour game, if you can't handle that, that says a lot about you. ALSO it's a sequel to a THREE part series that has always been inclusive, a lil' whimsy and just irreverent. Characters in DA have talked this way since Origins...ie Alistair, Oghren, Leliana etc. Sounds more like you're parroting & have never played these games tbh.
i am so curious when you fight are you doing specific combos? your character takes them down so much faster than mine and im so many levels ahead but my hits barely make a big impact and we are both mages and working through the tech tree a similar path
Finished the game yesterday and it is true that the game shows only one aspect of bonds between characters - only the positive one- but I still had a lot of fun playing it and, apart from the fact that the characters might come out shallow for people expecitng big dramas like with Fenris in DA2, the rest of the game, especially the closer to get to the finale, is quite good. Not extremely good, not brilliant, but still worth spending time on :) And I am a big fan of how certain scenes in the Fade are directed in the end game.
1:33:54 thats what i liked about dragon age inquisition. mages/casters looked cool with their attack animations like they're a melee character. i prefer close quarters combat usually with a melee. i'm usually not a fan of any range characters because most games don't make them look interesting like a melee character when fighting. but dragon age changes that for me i still made my inquisitor into a sword user, but playing dorian and casting spells near the frontline where the battle is at made it look and feel cool
I spent almost 2 hours in this char creator haha It was fun. I made a non binary pretty elf rogue Shadow Dragon (that's my fav race/class) and their hair swooshes around and it's awesome haha Also I'm almost at the end of my first playthrough and the game gets so good later on. Not as many heart wrenching moments as the older games, but there are a few. I love that you became an accidental "Solasmancer" in the char creator with your Inquisitor haha You should finish Inquisition tho, it's a pretty good game once it gets going. Just got to the part you're talking about portals and the show Sliders - My sister and I watched that when we were kids lol She LOVED that show, I don't remember much tho b/c I didn't really watch each week like she did. OMG I feel SO old now haha
1:36:10 I think Rook needs to purchase/trade/upgrade items later in the game so that you can combine the stats you want with the appearance you want, like a skin, but without paying more IRL money. Edit: Ah, you discovered that at about 2:12:00.

@@starbursthobbitsame here! it’s difficult bc longtime fans of the series are trying their best to defend it from culture war grifters but there’s many areas of valid criticism. i’m somewhat enjoying it so far but I’ve had to severely curb my expectations now after nearly 40 hours.
I feel like this is kind of dumb because couldn't you be gay in the dragon age: inquisiton?? I swear we could, but i could be wrong.

Seems like a cool game! It’s really just the voice acting that bothers me, but I’m also used to the outstanding cast of bakery’s gate so maybe I’m judging too harshly
im 140 hrs into this and on a second playthrough, i hope you enjoy as much as i did :D
The game has been getting hate from people who scream about the ‘woke mob’ etc. or crazed fans who have memorised all the lore and are unhappy that characters may have developed over 10 in game years. I’ve been playing and it’s been really entertaining, there’s are a couple issues like in any game but very good overall.
i am gay and cant stand a game. infantile dialouges, sometimes even out of place, like they ar emade by puberty inmature kids or by someone who never talked to other humans or went to an actual date with another human.. not feeling part of that world at all, so boring i almost felt a sleep, whole ui is like taken from hogwarts legacy, too long and too boring cut scenes wich with time become cringy. almost no story, too preachhy, not for anyone under at least 16, fightning system is also lame.. game is literal trash.. too agressive in sending us a message instead of actual game story, too preachy like we all are idiots.. not to mention outside west and west europe game will be banned completly or banned for minors. so they set them selves for a failure, coz well west is minority of global trade and global gaming community.. and game is bad.. i know so many people who had no issues with last of us, baldures gate, tell me why lif eis strange and many other games with lgb content, but cant stand this one. and many are actually young people, not like me old gezzer who plays games since age 7, so for over 30 years i am in gaming, cant digest this game and they did play and enjoy in many games with lgb content or lgb charchters and side charachters.. even know some guys, not african americans coz they are neither african or american but live in europe born and raised, whos skin tone is darker and cant stand black elves in game...

@@lucalium_rose dont like is actualy too nice to describe what i think about this game lol... if i would use both of my native languages, especialy slavic one, in just 3 to 5 words i could describe what i think about this game.. my partner gave it a chance, after 6 or 7 hours he said i cant anymore. this is beyond trash and felt sorry he cant ask for a refund coz he played for more than 3 hours.. i was like told you so...
And also people who create a full review based only on 2 -3 hours of playing of around 60 hours game (depending on the person it can be over 100) this game is slower to take off, but still this is not a lot of time for most game.
If I was to decide if I'm gonna play BG3 after just 2-3 hours (so in my case barely after tutorial) I would have to say a definite no 😅
not to mention people who are super upset you can't be an evil donkey hole while playing a character who was literally especially chosen for their potential to be a hero and for their moral compass 😅

Game was review bombed because it has non-binary main character and because some gaming channels jumped on hate wagon (because negative content creates more engagement unfortunately) and started nitpicking every flaw and presenting it as if it was the major part of the whole game and when fell short made up some more
The story is mediocre, they butchered the setup from the last game, the dialogue is horrendous they constantly repeat what’s happening instead of adding anything new. The gameplays is boring there are no puzzles just pick and drop item here. Combat is flashy yet overtime reveals to be repetitive and boring. Characters act child like or talk like a marvel character. The game is okay but for a sequel to a 4 part series of a known company built on the best story and characters it’s a far cry from it. Yet with all these short comings they made sure to stuff as much gender politics in as they could.
@@Tate_THG There are like 10 minutes dealing with gender thoughts in a 100+ hour game, if you can't handle that, that says a lot about you. ALSO it's a sequel to a THREE part series that has always been inclusive, a lil' whimsy and just irreverent. Characters in DA have talked this way since Origins...ie Alistair, Oghren, Leliana etc. Sounds more like you're parroting & have never played these games tbh.
i am so curious when you fight are you doing specific combos? your character takes them down so much faster than mine and im so many levels ahead but my hits barely make a big impact and we are both mages and working through the tech tree a similar path
Finished the game yesterday and it is true that the game shows only one aspect of bonds between characters - only the positive one- but I still had a lot of fun playing it and, apart from the fact that the characters might come out shallow for people expecitng big dramas like with Fenris in DA2, the rest of the game, especially the closer to get to the finale, is quite good. Not extremely good, not brilliant, but still worth spending time on :) And I am a big fan of how certain scenes in the Fade are directed in the end game.
1:33:54 thats what i liked about dragon age inquisition. mages/casters looked cool with their attack animations like they're a melee character. i prefer close quarters combat usually with a melee. i'm usually not a fan of any range characters because most games don't make them look interesting like a melee character when fighting. but dragon age changes that for me i still made my inquisitor into a sword user, but playing dorian and casting spells near the frontline where the battle is at made it look and feel cool

I spent almost 2 hours in this char creator haha It was fun. I made a non binary pretty elf rogue Shadow Dragon (that's my fav race/class) and their hair swooshes around and it's awesome haha Also I'm almost at the end of my first playthrough and the game gets so good later on. Not as many heart wrenching moments as the older games, but there are a few. I love that you became an accidental "Solasmancer" in the char creator with your Inquisitor haha You should finish Inquisition tho, it's a pretty good game once it gets going.
Just got to the part you're talking about portals and the show Sliders - My sister and I watched that when we were kids lol She LOVED that show, I don't remember much tho b/c I didn't really watch each week like she did. OMG I feel SO old now haha
