Yes Adrenaline is given in anaphylactic shock but sodium chromoglycate is not a good choice because mast cells are already degranulated that why person is having anaphylactic shock so the better option would be anti histaminics.
Dont worry. In some people contrast dye can lead to allergic reaction.Just keep it in mind to tell your health care provider about this before any treatment in future.
Hi all and pls help me out to understand the situation, I had gone for CT abdominal contrast iv , as dye inserted in my body I start feeling the dye travelling whole body and felt allergy like bee is biting whole body, i stand up and asks rediologist to stop immediately and fainted, after some time when I wake up I peed in my pant and Doctor told me we have given you CPR. Let me know how normal is this ? Can I live life normal and this will not happen again, how is my life expectancy, my all body vitals are ok ,I kept 1 day in hospital to check my vitals. Pls help me out it was shock or cardic arrest. This will definately give me idea what was happend to me actually. Will be appreciated. Thanks God bless everyone
In my opinion, it is allergic reaction. Although it is very rare but some people have allergy to contrast dye. My suggestions would be don't stress yourself & if in future there will be need of scan pls let your health care provider know about this situation so that it won't happen again. Wish you a healthy life.
I am suffering from Yellow jacket wasp sting allergic reactions anaphylaxis. Please suggest names of medicine. Doctors near me suggest Levo cetragin, but not working.
If reaction is severe then you should definitely consult doctor. Here are some additional thing you can do along with your medication - 1. You can use ice pack to get relief from pain. 2. Mix a spoonful of baking soda with water, and then apply with a cotton swab to the yellow jacket sting to help neutralize the venom. Hope you will find it helpful.
