Awesome 👌 times, I was at Atco about 3 weeks ago and 12:20 at 117.mph was my best time. For my bone stock 2022 Camano LT1. And my goal is 12:00 or 11:90 on street tires. Your time prove that these cars in stock trim are capable of running high 11, if condition are right. Awesome 👌 time.
Gotta love Atco (and Englishtown before it closed) for awesome weather conditions. If you can get a little bit of sun to heat the track for traction, the mineshaft DAs make for awesome runs this time of year. I've seen DAs of 2000 ft below sea level there sometimes. It's rarely above 500 ft DA in the fall.
Didn’t know Englishtown closed. Seems like people just don’t go as much or profit margins but many tracks are closing. Great more kids doing donut drifts…
Only the RS package, SS without tire sealant/compressor kit in trunk, 1LE and ZL1 have run flats. If you have a regular LT1 (no RS pack), or SS with tire and sealant kit, then you have regular non RF's.
@@eeatem You dont do a burnout in the water, all that does is blast water up into the wheel well which drips down on the tire in the staging lights. On a street tire best to drive around the water and do a dry burnout.
When you aapproach the water you roll through slow to not get it in the wheel wells. you pull past it where its only damp and do a burn out. Jus enough heat to dry the tires. Plus the track is prepped very well.. made 20 passes that day no issues.
Im always scared of speeding up from 0 on reg road or just taking off on highway at 3m lol when empty cuz i wanna avoid tire slipping/rolling and car loosing control a bit..any advice?
Just got my LT1 and I only got 1 run in baby it out and ran 12.4 116mph these cars are on top .. mine is pulling off from Gen 3 full bolt on 5.0 10 speed mustangs and I’m stock… Love to see it man !!
The only thing stock (on the street/roll racing and traffic lights) that id bat an eye at was a mustang and that mustang better have GT350 on it. That stock 19+ Camaro is no joke....its rated 455/455 but im telling you... I know those numbers are with 1% but it sure feels like 500+. Such a fun car to just drive.
Awesome..time.. there are very few of those cars that run that quick. With street tires. I'm sure with a drag radial they will go right in the 11s. easily. We haven't got back to the track or gotten a set of drag radials on the car yet.. keep me posted how it does with the biger tire!!
I was at Island Dragway the same day this was recorded. I have a bone stock 2020 LT1 6-speed and ran 12.322 @ 117.01 mph with a 1.983 60'. It had around 19k miles on it at the time. Island is about 500' higher than Atco... I wonder how close we would've been had we lined up together. 😁
@@eeatem Thanks much! I have over 100 passes on it since I started racing it and believe me, my initial times were not good while I was learning the car. LOL My very first pass was 14.008 @ 108 (wheelspin + missed shift), second pass was a 13.7 @ 110 (more wheelspin, but cleaner shifts). Throughout the summer of 2021, I averaged 13.0-13.3 @ 113. Then when the weather cooled down in the fall of 2021, I got 12.5 @ 116.4 at near zero DA. Thought I couldn't do any better...until I had that 12.3 pass in negative DA. It's shocking how much weather (and practice) makes a difference.
It has some sort of launch control. It seems like it can only be activated with a lot of traction. Like the day we were at the track. I would definitely recommend that car it is beautiful. And it runs great
Yes. The stock 245's. It is my sons car and he was trying all different launch techniques...I thnk he figured out how to activate a competition mode somehow but it would only work on the sticky track surface...
The LT1 is impressive. I almost think the camaro is getting more hp as my 19 C7 manual went a best of 12.004 @ 117.47 bone stock on street tires .The camaro is much heavier and got the same mph
Went to Atco Dragway back on OCT 22nd of this year for a no frills test & tune Fri night event. Due to ( mostly) Covid 19 restrictions, hadn't raced since 2020 when it was a tolerable $25 to race. Imagine my total SHOCK to find the price to race had DOUBLED to $50 !!!! What?! I almost turned around and left but wanted to see what my new car could do. Bad conditions with a no prepped and cold track presented me with poor results. Been racing at Atco since 1977 but with this ridiculous fee to race I'm done.Really do hate greedy people!
I dont go on reg nights. We went to an open track rental. 200 bucks. Make as many passes as you can. Worth every penny...and we live 2.5 hrs away..it is the closest track..
@@eeatem You can't compare a track rental to a ( mostly) night time, non prepped T&T night where you generally get 4-5 runs. $10 to $12.50 per run is greedy and pathetic.
Wondering what the DA was here. Best time for me is 12.03 on street tires and I'm modified. Most of the time my DA was 2500-2900. Hoping if I ever go on a day with low temps I would break that 12 sec mark. I just picked up some 555R2's for the summer and upgrading my Intake and TB. People say I have a low 11 sec car but I'm not convinced of it seeing other cars running 245's pulling these numbers stock. I'm sure I still have a lot to learn of course as I'm still fairly new to drag racing.
What's your mph? What's your mods? A low 11 sec usually is around 126 even with not too great a start. So you ran a 12.03, if your mph was around 126 or higher, then yes, you do have a low 11 sec car. You said your new to drag racing. Pay attention to your mph early on. That will tell you how much potential your car has. Then when you get better at launching it (driver mod), you'll get closer to that time. And remember, the biggest mistake everyone makes is going to the drag strip and not having the proper drag tires. If you can't put the power down, it is useless to try to get good times.

Now I'm lower, but meh, again people say low 11's but I just can't find a way to get there, Nearly FBO now minus heads, but just not seeing the numbers other people seem to get. right now my average ET is about 121. Best ET is about 122.7. Back then my best 1/4 time on street tires was 11.900. Now my best is 11.639 with a tire and cam. Car not running well at the moment, trying to dial in the tune more. Think the cam hurt my 60ft. People say I should be getting 1.7 but so far best is 1.83.
For starters ATCO down hill, and always has mine shaft air/DA and vehicles typically run 1/2 sec and 2-3 mph quicker/faster than reality. Any other track and it'd do 12.4 or 5 at 114-115.
Hey fellas that is an impressive run however I know the car can go faster in stock trim I myself have done it, I have a 2022 LT1, at 100% stock I've been in the 1190s and I did that in Florida weather, I've since started to tune only timing and I've gotten the car as fast as 1170s and still a lot left on the table.
@@eeatem factory tires factory rims, my home track is Brandenton Motorsport they really do a great job at prepping the track allowing me to turn these numbers with stock tires and rims.
nice, Im window shopping do you recommend just going with the auto? as much as I'd like to attempt manual I don't know how it'd feel in one, rather wait for one day I can drive a lotus
@Code Zalo Well I imagine that's going to be greatly dictated by what it is you're going to be doing with the car, the majority of the time if it's a lot of street driving Stick is a lot of Fun Except for when you get stuck in traffic, But if performance is more important to you and consistency then the automatic is the way Go especially at the drag strip.

But realistically I say that and itll just be the new commuter for work and errands, the LT1s seem to be the one to get at this point new because the used market here in CA selling them for MSRP with a good grip of miles kinda sucks lol appreciate your say in the matter tho, what color did you get yours in ? I don't know if youve heard or seen the new shark gray one, so hard to find one, probably would have to go to dealerships individually on the website cause cargurus or Autotrader can't have them all

There's definitely an engineering side to it but with enough money and right engineers you can buy that "win." Another key word here is "enthusiastically." I get the desire to benchmark a new config but after that... It's almost like MLB getting rid of the pitcher for a tee, from a batters perspective. Not calculating the reflection from the pitch of course. * A large part of it is. Do you know what else is consistent? Electric motors with AI control. "My electric AI controlled car in drag mode is faster than yours brah..." :D... Diamond rings...

The mags cant get under 12.4@115 in the LT1 auto. Its the unsual low elevation and DA way below sealevel.

@@eeatem Yeah, you have to push the traction control button twice to active it. Would you mind asking him at what rpm he launched the car at?
@@dvelazquez24dv once you hit esc comp mode hold brake like take of then floor it, it should put it into 2000 rpm hold almost like a two step
If I’m not mistaken LT1 model only has 2000 rpm launch and SS models can be adjusted

They seem to be. The LT1 is lighter cuz it has less options than an SS.

I was ordered from the factory with dual mode exhaust.. when it's in sport mode it is really loud..
Yes. It is very loud.. but when you put it in stealth mode it's relatively quiet. It is the best of both worlds dual mode

Simple. Automatics are faster and far more consistent. Not to mention, easier to drive. This isn't 1987. Disclaimer - my car is a five-speed manual.
