  • In World War I, one out of every five soldiers in the U.S. Armed Forces was an immigrant. For some it was a path to citizenship. For the nation it proved pivotal to a more inclusive definition of “American.”

There will always be people who are distrustful. But the war aided in the assimilation of these groups. We need this today. But without the war.

The war created specific distrust towards Americans of German background and Mexicans, both for potentially siding with the enemy.

This was also when 90% of Ethnic Germans in the United States stopped speaking their languages. Their thought process was that It's better to claim to be English and stay loyal to USA.

Is this just me, or do I see this (quite possibly) happening again? Will we be in WWII after the '24 presidential election?
    Hmmm ... 🤔

I'd show this to pinpoint two specific events:
      1) 99% of German speaking people in the United States immediately stopped, then identified as primarily English.
      2) The first USA/Mexico border is constructed.
*Both due to distrust of potential German ties*

There was religious persecution of Christians as well in Eastern Prussia. This video is distorting history by not telling the the whole story. And it got much worse for Churches if you know your history when Communist had full reign of the land.

That doesn't really have anything to do with the Americans during the war.
