I wouldn't, i like it more and more as i went, the first time i heard it i was like... Eehh... But listening to it a few times and i cant stop singing it now!
Fun fact, Billie knows her audience so well and feels so strongly about her art that those last 10 seconds of nothing is a buffer for the adds that RUclips often outs at the end of videos so that they don't interrupt the experience 💗 she's an absolute treasure
The actual lyrics are “Never paid any mind to my mother or friends So I shut 'em all out for you 'cause I was a kid” Meaning Billie shut out her mother and friends for him..because that’s how much she was into him..and she also shut them out because she was a “kid”, meaning she didn’t know any better. She treated her fam and friends like shit for this dude.
She said "Never paid any mind to my mother or friends so I shut em all out for YOU cuz I was a kid" she shut her family out for him ! She wasn't listening to them telling her he was bad news. She shouts out drew and laura...2 of her best friends...in I didn't change my number! Billie said it's not...but I feel like this album is based around that relationship (which so many people can relate to), body shaming, paparazzi, being famous. The album has a build up, a climax, and a double closure!! It's perfect! Love your reactions! Check out Disney + on September 3rd for the full concert of happier than ever in order with the Phil harmonic Los Angeles orchestra...finneas.. and award winning composer/director Gustavo Dudamel! Billie is one of the directors! 🤎🤎
I agree 100% with you. This song was based on her and her ex I believe and many young teen girls go through really tough break ups so I feel that's why so many young girls even women can relate. She makes music so relatable. And you pinned it perfectly about her family because I know first hand what her family means to her. She was an unschooler so therefore close to her family and it means a lot to her for this guy to meet her family. I am also an unschooling mom and I have 2 adult sons. I feel the huge difference between them. I am definitely closer to the youngest who is 15 and unschooled. Or better term "self directed learning" which basically means you let your kids take the wheel and take their passions and create their own life. I'm so proud to see how Billie and Finneas found their passions and took off. That's usually what unschoolers do. The parents are here to help support but they navigate themselves. Her mom and dad did a wonderful job of that! It's all expressed right here! ✅ Thanks for the reaction I LOVED IT.
Hi, enjoy your vids on Billie. I agree with you when she dives in; she is embracing her self and her free expression of her feelings and their power! Some are freaked that she falls back in, but no! she is in full control, it was her choice, it shows it no longer scares or controls her. She has dropped 7 videos from this album; Not my Responsibility (March 2020), My Future (July 2020), Therefore I am, My Power, Lost Cause, NDA, the title song; and now several live/studio recorded versions.
So the end where it’s 15 to 20 seconds of just black screen is so that those pop-up ads that are not allowed to be more than 18 seconds long don’t pop up and block the final shot of the video and ruin the aesthetic
She was in the fairy tale version of love (what she wanted to be real love) but when she opens up the door she swims out of the fairy tale house because it's better to be on top of the house in the rain and happy and herself instead of contorting herself for someone else
I love this song so much. I still watch every one of these reaction videos when they pop up in my suggestions. Lol. I would love for her and Hayley Williams to do this song together and Hayley to hit those higher notes when the music changes. 😍
"Finally, a music video?" Stop! What the hell are you talking about? This was the SEVENTH music video from this project, including Not My Responsibility. Lordy.
The lyric actually is " never paid any mind to my mother or friends so I shut them all out for you cause I was a kid " and the lyric was " was I even on your way " ps way too many pauses pause once or twice not as much as you did
She relies on her production! Any school girl could do this. She has no voice! I mean she has one that just about any girl could mimic. I don't get it. She has no talent except maybe writing and there are many girls that have that amazing talent. I guess if you ball up and just throw your voice there with production you got it.
This era is EVERYTHING. She came out to shut up some mouths.

Seriously, when Billie cuts loose she's low key scary af. And I am so here for it. Great reaction dude.
I'm sayin!!! Thank you🙏💜

Black screen at the end is because this way her visual art won't get plasterd with ads at the end.
The actual lyrics are

An even darker interpretation of this line is that, since she was a kid, what she was doing with him HAD to be hidden. Makes me a little ill tbh.
And that's how they groom children. Separate them from their family and friends, so you only listen and pay attention to him.
The song was written for her dad. The song is about her dad not a lover
I'm so happy that songs with rock elements are finally getting back into the charts again. 2010s were a dark decade for rock.

Copy paste.
bobby eyetrash has never hit for me, you can tell she lacks passion and presence on any song she is on
who asked? + ratio bozo

Go hold ur breath until someone gives a f*** about ur opinion.😂
Impressive. Being so wrong in so few words. A Trumpian achievement.
It's billie eilish and she doesn't lack passion and presence
