Tuur, you asked me on Twitter if there was a rebuttal to Lopp's softwar critique. I told you I would write one and post it in the thread, you replied "Great!". I posted the rebuttal and you never responded to it.
Why are some of the smartest people in the Bitcoin community so afraid to engage with the thesis? Jack Mallers presented a talk covering some parts of Lowery's work and specifically section 5.10 and it was probably the best presentation at this event.
It's time to muster courage and engage with the thesis in an intellectually honest way.

I encourage you to expand your piece and publish it somewhere. I had a look the day you wrote it and it felt a bit short compared to what I remember Jameson writing.
I'm not hostile to Lowery in particular, but after +10years in this space I've learned to take my time before investing a lot of time in controversial projects. As a result I'm less on top of things as they happen, but in exchange I get to spend more time on things that I love with people I already respect.

Indeed, it is for everyone. I was trying to go into the reasons why people feel like bitcoin somehow is not for them.
