I love the analogy of classical vs jazz music! Thx for the great perspective on painting loosely and helpful, specific tips. 👍

I love your 'loose' paintings. Your loose is clear and crisp to me. I used to associate loose with sloppy after a watercolour tutor I had used to splash paint all over the place. I do like a modicum of self control! 😂 Setting a timer is such a good idea and I like the bonus idea too! 😍

Yes, the modicum of self control! Successful loose is weirdly about discipline, for me at least!

I love your art style that’s displayed here. It looks so effortless and does leave a lot in the empty space to be imagined by us which is fun. I also watched your Notan video and it really made this art style seem achievable and simple so I’m glad you brought it up here too for those that maybe haven’t seen that one yet.
I’m really excited to try these tips out this weekend! 🎉

Although I’m not building an art practice, I do paint and draw here and there. Mostly abstract pieces using mixed media. It’s been a while though. I enjoy watching artists create and listening to the process is fascinating to me. There’s a yearly local art fair this summer that I can’t wait to go to. Local artists in a neighboring county on the coast gather in this beautiful cove near the ocean to showcase their art of all kinds. Food and music. You would LOVE it! I’ll be thinking of you while I’m there this summer! ❤😊
