  • Especially if you are a new driver, it’s only a matter of time before you are confronted with an UberEats order that requires a PIN. I have some Uber driver tips (and of course Uber Eats driver tips) for you here. Hopefully you haven’t already handed off the food/groceries/package and left before you realize this. In this video I will share a way for you to get the customer to tell you the PIN, even if they don’t know what you are talking about. I will also follow up with some information on why this likely happens and how you can protect yourself on this and all deliveries.
Have a safe and productive time out working in the great gig economy!

Thats weird, maybe because I'm not from the US but I use the PIN as a costumer and the pin is always a different number

As an experiment next time tell the driver the last four of your phone number and see if it also works in place on the PIN you set up. That would be neat to see. Please let me know! Russ

Mmm, that seems strange. Are you in an area where there aren’t many drivers? Russ

@@TheRussRyde I mean I don't go to get it after it's dropped off. entire point is no contact necessary afaik. I'd rather not get food than need to barely hear something over the phone

Oh I get it. Yes the app should notify you. Try watching your order from the time you place it and following along the route from being prepared to picked up and then you should be able to tell when it arrives. Russ

Hi Drivers, how have customer interactions gone for you when confronted with an UberEats PIN? I appreciate your feedback on this video too! Thank you, Russ

I did 2,200 deliveries (stopped driving early 2022), and had one delivery where I left it at a doorstep and the guy opened the door and grabbed it...but it was the wrong address! The customer called me enraged, naturally. A pin would have been very good in that instance.

@@jessyfretz5800 Yes that would’ve been a benefit for sure. It’s disappointing when the thief accepts food that wasn’t theirs. I accidentally delivered a massive family sized dinner from El Pollo Loco chain. I sort of verified the name but not really. They gladly took the order and later I figured out I had the wrong address. A pin would have saved the day. Thanks for sharing that! Russ
