I just watched a wonderful 56 minute video of the 2019 CR-V hybrid, I believe it was done in Germany. I won't bother to watch too much of this video since it's a turbo model and it doesn't interest me in the least especially with it's oil dilution problems. And watching an hour of someone driving a CR-V from the passenger seat doesn't get me excited very much.
Oil Dilution and Intake Valve Carbonation is a real issue I had 8 % fuel dilution and Honda thought that was ok. I could find no information on how Honda is handling the Direct Injected carbonization of the intake valves therefore I traded by 2018 CRV in on a Toyotal with D4S which is port fuel inj and direct inj. Ford also uses this to control the carbon on the intake valves. I miss my CRV but I think there will be some issues down the road. 8 % fuel dilution might be ok on Planet Honda but not on Planet earth. Good Luck CRV owners.
Nice video. Very well done. There is no way I would ever buy another Honda. I am on my 5th Honda, and currently own a 2016 Odyssey and 2018 CR-V. Honda has not been honest with their owners of the CR-V. My CR-V takes about 20 minutes to start warming up even if I do remote start for 10 minutes. I also get gas in my oil. They say all is normal. Bullcrap........Diluting your oil is never good. They have came out with what they call a fix, but everyone who has had it done, says it does not work. They knew they had the problem in their 2017 models, but they went on to produce 2018 models with the same problem they were aware of. Any good company, would not sell the same piece of crap for two years knowing about it. They should of stopped production as soon as they knew in 2017 that they had a problem. The problem comes all down to the 1.5L turbo engine, same one used in the Civic. Stay away with Direct Injection with Honda. Screw Honda. They have lost a good longtime customer. I have had a Honda since I was 16 years old. I am now 48. Going to Toyotas
Beautiful vehicle. So stylish and comfortable. Great brakes. Easy to use features Here in New Zealand we don't have the oil dilution issues so it's a great buy all round. There is also a 2.0 non turbo available too.

The oil/gas dilution was happening to people that never drive more than a few miles and the motor never warming up , but they fix that by reworking the fuel injection program . Read the auto news. lol

The most impressive thing for me, is not the nice design and good comfort, because I think always CR-V has been a good referent on the segment, but never had a good AWD, and even when Honda it says is not for off reading, I think this new system is quite capable now. Inner plastic (door panels and other trim) and outer rear bumper are EASILY scuffed/scratched and otherwise damaged. The stuff is like BUTTER! Honda should, at least, make interior touch-up paint available!
I have a 2013 Acura RDX, a great car I love it. BUT, the electronics package STINKS, THE NAVIGATION IS AN ABORTION AND THE HARD DRIVE PLAYBACK IS A PILE OF JUNK. I have heard that the Navigation system in this car is NOT MUCH BETTER. If this is TRUE THEN DO NOT BUY IT. It is rumored that the electronics may be update in 2020, so I will wait.
Are you owner of CRV or Civic11.5 Turbo? ..yes and you have this problem then you can say that...not..then you should not say anything..i have Civic 13000km No Problems no oil dilution ..great car
I have a 2017 CRV LX with 2.4L non-turbo. I am coming up on the third oil change soon. The first two I had analyzed and the reports came back with 2% and 3.5% fuel dilution. Higher than normal aluminum content also. So the turbo version is getting an update to the fuel injection program in the computer which is not getting good reviews on solving the problem. I seem to have a bit more heat than the turbo versions but it still is inadequate. If the temp is below 20 F you need to use the Sport mode to keep the RPM up and if you go downhill (5 to 6 miles for me) set the fan to a low speed lest you suck all the heat out of the system. Don't ever touch the ECON button. I do like the car as the power is adequate, the brakes are great, lots of room inside, good handling and fuel economy. But caveat emptor if you are in the market for one. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope to trade this off for something else while there is still some warranty left. Be sure to test drive what ever you decide to buy on very cold day.
Let me add how pleased I am with the four wheel drive system. It is always working from 0 to 15 mph. Put snow tires on it in the winter and it will not let you down. The only thing you'll have to worry about is frostbite.
@@i.r.wayright1457 If These engines have that problems then after maybe 30000 miles we will have first massive number of that engines burning oil then after 50000 till 100000 miles massive numbers of engine failures...I have Civic 1.5 Turbo...and want to drive 10 xears and about 100000 miles...i hope that will not happen
Yes, that is what worries most owners. I like to keep my vehicles past 100,000 miles if they aren't rusted out and unsafe. There have been some failures at less than 5,000 miles. Top end was rebuilt and the dilution problem was just as severe. What I can not understand is how some report no problems and others have them. What exactly is different between the cars?

Yes, a beautiful SUV indeed, except that the 1.5 turbo engine is a time bomb. Do you honestly think a tiny l.5 liter engine will last 200K miles ? Give me a break !!
Still cant beat the murano which ways the same 2 tonsand is also about 15ft long, but the murano has much more hp at 260 vs 190. The famous reliability of honda wasntarnished by the 1. 5L turbo's oil dilution problem. So now the murano is more reliable, more powerful and goes further on a tank of gas. Not to mrntion crv is missing the panoramic moinroof, surroundview cam, cooled seats, and 20" rims al standard on the murano platinum. Sorry honda you lose.
@@uzumaks Google it`s not a fact) I didn't`t find correct official information or statistics about oil dilution. In some countries Honda increase guarantee on engine to 10 years
No diesel. No ZF 9 speed automatic. Does have a CVT. Fake looking dark brown wood trim on black plastic. Yuk. BIG FAIL and UK sales will decline substantially. I pity Honda dealers with such a narrow vehicle range to move. Honda has lost the plot.
@@disco.lemonade It is a fact that very few people want big cars like the CR-V with petrol engines. That is partly why JLR are in deep doo-doo. Nobody wants their vehicles any longer because diesel has been demonised, even though its emission levels are virtually identical to petrol engines in the latest standards, and very few indeed want to run petrol JLR SUV's. I've never witnessed such an in-depth car review before

Hope, come in Philippines!!
Know what doesn’t make sense? It’s funny how in the UK the CRV is better looking and better there but in the US where it was like made I guess or you know it isn’t that good
kinda messed up ngl
Could well mention that the Hybrid i-mmd has a rather low towing capacity of only 750Kg
This is only half the towing capacity of any other variant.
Thanks for the feedback, Roland. Will take this on-board 👍
@@rivervalegroup Great review BTW. Answered a lot of my questions.

Does he have that one jacket then?
With the amount of engine failures from their 1.5 turbo. I wouldn't buy it personally
Inner plastic (door panels and other trim) and outer rear bumper are EASILY scuffed/scratched and otherwise damaged. The stuff is like BUTTER!
Honda should, at least, make interior touch-up paint available!
The CRV is a fine vehicle, however, I would never, EVER, buy a new Honda, worst main dealer ever.
Gotta get one used that is
Whatever, fix the oil/gas dilution
Rear calipers in these cars are pants. Jam yearly despite servicing
Does this have a dual clutch?
cvt
marc robert thanx mate
Engine still has oil dilution issues .
still think diesel is a good option.
Definitely
Rav4 is the best in it's class and it is better than the crv
Good luck with that turbo motor. I don't like gas in my oil. Love my 2010.
@@Azureecosse Don't think so, you can pay when u get a problem, hope u got deep pockets.
@@Azureecosse just picked up a 14 good motor and transmission. Learn to pay with that CVT trans could cost 6-8 K to fix. Hey dummy maybe u should pick up a used BMW.
Recall dilution?
Great review but too much smacking
Now all i can hear is lip smacking 🙄
I have my 2018 crv. Have that gas smell and my high beam is not working. I been to the honda to fix. They said my car is one to have oil dilution problem and said they fix it. Told them I have these gas smell in my car and high beam not working.
There answers:
Gas problem- they cannot duplicate it so they cannot fix it.
High beam problem- said its not on auto position( which is not true because im night shift employee I always used auto lights). And told me to read the manual page 47 and set it my self( I did). But the problem is still there. I've been 3x to honda same problem. But still not fix. And they want me to rate them 10 for satisfaction. Frustrated.
I hope someone cold help me.
a great review, this model is a beautiful reliable frugal newer shape honda crv,i love it.

Own one of these --2018-- 4400 miles Heater flat ass SUCKS--- 118 degrees when engine is hot been-35 in Montana this car is shit my Toyota t-100 heater runs 150 when warmed up. This doesn't warm up. HONDA --JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not even close to being worthy with its gas in oil dilution problems
Nice car but them wheels are horrible on it
Yes, a beautiful SUV indeed, except that the 1.5 turbo engine is a time bomb. Do you honestly think a tiny l.5 liter engine will last 200K miles ? Give me a break !!
Why shouldn't it? There are lots of much smaller engines out there passing 20 years line.
ocean : DILLIGAF!!!
Too much prattle, not enough fact. Get on with it fella!
Looks very boring inside
Still cant beat the murano which ways the same 2 tonsand is also about 15ft long, but the murano has much more hp at 260 vs 190. The famous reliability of honda wasntarnished by the 1. 5L turbo's oil dilution problem. So now the murano is more reliable, more powerful and goes further on a tank of gas. Not to mrntion crv is missing the panoramic moinroof, surroundview cam, cooled seats, and 20" rims al standard on the murano platinum. Sorry honda you lose.
exterior it looks so good, but the interior.. oh my god... such an awful interior design
Holy ads
DON'T BUY this. It has a very serious oil/gas dilution problem. It's could have been a great car otherwise!!
Phan G do You have CR-V?
I have Honda Civic here in Austria...13000km No oil issue..Great car ..If you dont have this car or CRV dont talk like this
Just wait for the next CRV. Their 1.5 turbo is unreliable. Some countries already issued a recall. Google it. Fact.
@@uzumaks Google it`s not a fact) I didn't`t find correct official information or statistics about oil dilution. In some countries Honda increase guarantee on engine to 10 years
From Honda itself:

No diesel. No ZF 9 speed automatic. Does have a CVT. Fake looking dark brown wood trim on black plastic. Yuk.
BIG FAIL and UK sales will decline substantially. I pity Honda dealers with such a narrow vehicle range to move. Honda has lost the plot.
You're an idiot.
@@disco.lemonade
It is a fact that very few people want big cars like the CR-V with petrol engines. That is partly why JLR are in deep doo-doo. Nobody wants their vehicles any longer because diesel has been demonised, even though its emission levels are virtually identical to petrol engines in the latest standards, and very few indeed want to run petrol JLR SUV's. So like it or not, just who is the blithering idiot here? Not me son.
