    I love aviation. I am 14 years old, and sadly, the last time I have ever flown was when was 5. My parents don't want me to become a pilot because they think it is dangerous. I love to watch planes from a distance, fly RC planes and drones, and I love watching videos about airplanes. I hope I can make enough money to pay for flight school myself. This video was enough to motivate me towards my dream. Thank you Mentour! :)

      Diegothepianokid03 I am also 14, and my dream is to become an airline pilot, but sadly my mom does not want me to become a pilot because she thinks it’s dangerous. My dad supports me tho.

      SC TUBE it can be sad sometimes. My mom doesn’t care when I even talk about airplanes. My dad will listen, but he thinks it is dangerous. Just keep trying.

      Diegothepianokid03 remember that we are only 14, and since we have a dream from this age, our dream will most likely come true. Just keep believing in your self

    8. Being able to sit still for hours doing nothing by scanning you're instruments.
    That is the one skill I do not have and was the main reason why I was turned down for the KLM flight academy (15 yearsa ago). But I still had my PPL (twin engine certified) and from time to time, I get to fly 'home' aircraft that are time-shared. So a pilot flies to Madrid for a a three week vacation, than I will join him and once he is on his destination, I fly the aircraft back, so the aircraft is available to other members of the time-share club. Sometimes I get to take a commercial flight. The thing I like about this, is that I get to fly a lot of different aircraft..

      MSI Aviation Videography pilot Lisence and TR costs total around 80-90 maybe even 100K euro

      @aviatorpianokraft 6 лет назад +4

      I funded my son all the way through his training to CPL/IR/ATPL theory/MCC/JOC with CTC and Simtech. Total cost GBP150000. He did not get an airline job straight way but after about 10 months was successful in getting a First Officer position with well known UK airline who also funded his type rating on A320/321. Don't let anyone kid you; you and/or your parents need to be aware that it is very expensive to train to be an airline pilot and although we like to believe that we live in a meritocracy you will not get very far without deep pockets. Enjoy!

    • @varde450
      @varde450 6 лет назад +1

      MSI Aviation Videography if you have knowledge you will go to work to get money. And then go to get PPL. In my country it's a but 15 000 to 20 000 €. It's like 7 years salary. For avarige. And it's only PPL. Not ATPL or CPL

    Good video. Nice dose of reality to make it in this business. It’s not enough to have a CPL MEIR or even an ATPL. The soft skills he talks about are more important for an airline pilot than say a accountant. Rejection is hard for some especially when they spend $100k+ on training and can’t get a job and end up working minimum wage as a Uber driver.

      @@MentourPilot An old video perhaps, but currently of more use to me than current ones. I’m curious about flying under normal conditions. The everyday for pilots and cabin crew rather than the disasters where the engines are exploding or the aircraft is being torn apart.
      Not that I would ever want to become a pilot-there are multiple reasons why, and I’m quite content as ground crew. But I’m curious and your channel is one of the most comprehensive sources of information.

    Hey Captain! I want to fly for JetBlue when I get older. I right now live in Albany which is the same distance from JFK and BOS (both are JetBlue hubs). Would I have to move closer to JFK or BOS if JetBlue bases me out of one of those airports?

      Normally I would say yes, but I am not familiar with this airline so I can’t say for sure. In my case I need to be living within one hour from my base.

      I know a Lufthansa Pilot living 4-5 hours away from Frankfurt (his homebase). So I think it really depends from Airline to airline how far you are allowed to live away from your home base.

    Hi. Can you define what you mean by having a sponsor for your training? Are you referring to having an airline pay your way through school?

    Hi, I'm a 44 year old school (maths) & university teacher (communication skills) who as always wanted to be a pilot. I'm looking for a career change to achieve my goal. I've always had the traits you mentioned in your video, is it too late for me? How realistic is it for me to become a commercial aircraft pilot? Thanks.

      I to have a similar Delima and I do not want to have the regret of not trying to consider any possibilities that we might be able to satisfy our inclinations of flying.

    You currently fly the 737. What would be the process and time factor to transition to a 787?

    • @MentourPilot
      @MentourPilot  6 лет назад +1

      Around 2 months to get the rating, then some Linetraining on top of that.

    • @sfdanceron1
      @sfdanceron1 6 лет назад +1

      So, if your company had 787s in the fleet and they needed a pilot, could they request that you make the transition? Also, are the head hunters in your employment field?

    Amazing video! May I ask which runway that is and how you are allowed to stand on it?

    • @MentourPilot
      @MentourPilot  6 лет назад +1

      It’s a small RC runway close to my house. If you look closer you can see the big X that shows that the runway can not be used by aircraft.

    Heyo just found your channel bro I love it haha, I got a dream of joining the Air Force, and the point of being able to communicate tho like I got autism and I rly don’t want that to stop me from being able to succeed as a fighter pilot because that’s been my dream since I was a toddler. Got any tips on how to improve?

    Hey Mentour. I’m curious. Why are you doing your intros on the runway now? A number of your most recent video intros have been from the runway as opposed to your others from your house or in a cockpit or something. I’m just curious.

    are the suitability tests you're talking about the same as the aptitude tests some schools use to weed out some of the prospective students? and if yes, can you really improve the skills being tested?

    Is there a stereotype that pilots act suavely (great confidence and very affable)? Also do you have to be an intrinsic leader? Can you learn real leadership of the type others would not see through ?

    • @MentourPilot
      @MentourPilot  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, leadership is developed throughout your career. You learn from mistakes and from others.
