I love aviation. I am 14 years old, and sadly, the last time I have ever flown was when was 5. My parents don't want me to become a pilot because they think it is dangerous. I love to watch planes from a distance, fly RC planes and drones, and I love watching videos about airplanes. I hope I can make enough money to pay for flight school myself. This video was enough to motivate me towards my dream. Thank you Mentour! :)
Diegothepianokid03 I am also 14, and my dream is to become an airline pilot, but sadly my mom does not want me to become a pilot because she thinks it’s dangerous. My dad supports me tho.
SC TUBE it can be sad sometimes. My mom doesn’t care when I even talk about airplanes. My dad will listen, but he thinks it is dangerous. Just keep trying.
Diegothepianokid03 remember that we are only 14, and since we have a dream from this age, our dream will most likely come true. Just keep believing in your self
I am 15, and starting my PPL training very soon, and watching these videos are extremely helpful as the amount of focus and commitment is relatively high going through training. Thanks for the great info👌👌
I'm 17 and I have always wanted to be a pilot since I was a kid. I really appreciate your motivation and the things you talked about in this video. Thanks again !
My own path into aviation was the U.S. Air Force. They agreed with your 7 points, by the way, and taught us to be the best pilots in the world and team players as well.
As someone who's starting a university/flight school program next week, this actually provided some useful insight as to what's ahead of me. Much appreciated.
Thanks for this video. Im actually 32 years old. Im paramedic and telecommunications technician. And im near to my PPL . Greetings from Argentina .never is too late!
I funded my son all the way through his training to CPL/IR/ATPL theory/MCC/JOC with CTC and Simtech. Total cost GBP150000. He did not get an airline job straight way but after about 10 months was successful in getting a First Officer position with well known UK airline who also funded his type rating on A320/321. Don't let anyone kid you; you and/or your parents need to be aware that it is very expensive to train to be an airline pilot and although we like to believe that we live in a meritocracy you will not get very far without deep pockets. Enjoy!
MSI Aviation Videography if you have knowledge you will go to work to get money. And then go to get PPL. In my country it's a but 15 000 to 20 000 €. It's like 7 years salary. For avarige. And it's only PPL. Not ATPL or CPL
8. Being able to sit still for hours doing nothing by scanning you're instruments. That is the one skill I do not have and was the main reason why I was turned down for the KLM flight academy (15 yearsa ago). But I still had my PPL (twin engine certified) and from time to time, I get to fly 'home' aircraft that are time-shared. So a pilot flies to Madrid for a a three week vacation, than I will join him and once he is on his destination, I fly the aircraft back, so the aircraft is available to other members of the time-share club. Sometimes I get to take a commercial flight. The thing I like about this, is that I get to fly a lot of different aircraft..
very lucid and clear explanations , congratulations to the mentour team. I love airplanes and wanted to become a pilot but destiny overuled and i became a emergency physician , this channel has given me the chance to learn so much about flying . well done
I have cleared the selection process for a cadet pilot program and I completely understand what you mean by the "Stress test"! A very nice experience, indeed.
Good video. Nice dose of reality to make it in this business. It’s not enough to have a CPL MEIR or even an ATPL. The soft skills he talks about are more important for an airline pilot than say a accountant. Rejection is hard for some especially when they spend $100k+ on training and can’t get a job and end up working minimum wage as a Uber driver.
@@MentourPilot An old video perhaps, but currently of more use to me than current ones. I’m curious about flying under normal conditions. The everyday for pilots and cabin crew rather than the disasters where the engines are exploding or the aircraft is being torn apart. Not that I would ever want to become a pilot-there are multiple reasons why, and I’m quite content as ground crew. But I’m curious and your channel is one of the most comprehensive sources of information.
My friend u r amazing to narrate the facts and make them easy to understand. I just love u. I am an art teacher despite having great interest in aviation but do not from a rich family and 32 now from india. How could it be possible to me become a first officer.
As always, excellent video! I think what Petter says about previous work experience is important. Doesn't have to be a doctor.... I would say some years at something like McDonald's/Burger King is good training. You will work in a team under, sometimes, stressful situations. Strange working hours... You will learn to deal with all sorts of people, happy or angry :-)

1: Have A LOT of money to begin with 2: Be under 30 3: Be good at math 4: Be in good health 5: Be prepared to not sleep very well... Yet to be fully alert when in the cockpit, also endure jet lag. 6: Be prepared to face authoritarian captains in some unfortunate cases (Even flight instructors !) 7: Be prepared to work during holidays, and during the weekends
I think becoming a military pilot would be a great way to get into aviation. You won't have to pay for the training yourself plus get great experience!
Can you do a video about the center panel (Radio frequency things) and also those little screens that have letters and numbers on them (It has a green-colored screen) please? It would be very appreciated. Thank you for all your hard work! :)
Could be interesting when you back to work. And that old one on a chain of errors (can a circuit breaker cause a crash) sent well down a rabbit hole. A long , long chain.

Hej Mentour!
Hey Mentour. I’m curious. Why are you doing your intros on the runway now? A number of your most recent video intros have been from the runway as opposed to your others from your house or in a cockpit or something. I’m just curious.

Not only good advice for this career, but sage advice for life.
Yes, I would like to think that these advice would work for most things.
I have never thought about becoming a pilot but these things are exactly my cup of tea 🤔 thank you for putting it into perspective!
1. A LOT of money, 2. Be single or have a understanding family :-)

Haha no, but those two are necessary to become a professionel pilot these days I think :-) Its very expensive and you don't choose you own base. :-)

Not "potential low points" you WILL have low points (and lots of paper work) .but determination is key
True.
As C.W. Lemoine says - “make em tell you no.” You have to keep asking and force someone to firmly tell you “no” when you ask for that job!
