If you prefer a wormer sound on the OM2H, customize your OM2H with the option of a Mahogany back and sides. I have had my OM2H for years and this works for me.
I would get this if it had 2 7/32" H&D tight saddle spacing ( Or 2 1/4 MAX). I like fast, baby. Flying guitar fingerings a wide spacing negates. Love a deep V and a light build, it must tickle the rib cage while playing.
I played my friends larivee guitar some years ago, my collings sounded way better. I played few other larivee's, one with Brazilian rosewood, that also "eh." I don"t remember any collings I played that didn't sound really good. Sounds like your larivee is special!
I would guess that in some applications they're using fish glue. Has similar cured properties as hide glue, but a longer working time. One place where this would be helpful is gluing the top to the side. Often spool clamps are used and these take a while to secure.
I call them inexpensive vintage Martin guitars. Collings guitars sound like a 50K vintage Martin only "new" and the scary thing is they're only going to sound better with age! But, yes, I know they're expensive. They're worth every penny. Hey, play whatever you can afford. Just play! Started on a 20 dollar Nylon string guitar from Mexico.
Collings will always have a special spot in my heart. Especially their OM2H
. I have huge respect for this brand and also this particular guitar.
First time my heart pounds at the sound of an acoustic guitar, wow, and very nice composition btw. What a fabulous guitar!!!
I'm really digging these Traditional guitars!
Your reviews are fantastic. Your playing is everything that I'll never achieve but wish I could. Just beautiful. Thanks for posting these up.
Man, that is one sweet sounding guitar, nice playing Matt!

isnt that just an OM1
@@buschfsu essentially but I think you get the bonus of herringbone purfling, volute on the back of headstock, 2 style inlay and peg head veneer.
I just wish I could get my hands on a copy of the first piece you played. Wonderful articulation! 😢
Transcribe it. Skriv ned lyt af

My larrivee was only 2k and sounds just as good without all the bling.
What bling?

@@marcydenville1756 == I think Collins Guitars are better then Larrviee's I have to say.
@@kennethbransford820Definitely are, but I'm still not a huge Collings guy
Matt, This is a very balanced sounding guitar. Out of interest, Does Animal Protein Glue = Hot Hide Glue ?

Looks like O0028 Martin
we call 'em 'lawyer wood.'
