I'm the proud owner of a new OM2H. Have had it for less than a year and have really come to love the guitar. Ironically my local Collings dealer now has an 001MH for sale. They said they might not have acquired the 001 if not for the fact that a previous all hog OM1 had sold so quickly. This video makes it so tempting to follow M. Goldenberg's lead and purchase the second Collings. They're both really beautiful...different, but complimentary.
Finally a good model showcase! I own a beautiful 001-MH in deep wine stain and rope purfling and it is drop dead gorgeous tone and esthetic❣❣ I was also gunna buy an OM2H years back, but never bought from Collings, but from a lower priced builder, but am not convinced that was a good choice. I think I own four Collings OOO 12-fret models just cause that is the quintessential fingerstyle acoustic guitar model on the planet ❣❣
This video helped me to decide to buy a Collings OM-2H online, and I'm glad I did. Mine seems a little brighter than the one here, but that may be due to my playing style and note choice. In any case, it's a really nice sounding guitar.
Beautiful instruments! Thanks for the demo & info! Collins are a little bit out of my league, lol, but I can dream, can't I? Curious as to what strings you use on the mahogany top. It can be tricky finding strings that work well with them...I have an all solid wood mahogany Seagull Maritime...am experimenting with different strings to bring up the treble a little.
Sounds sweet and nice. I like them both. Would you think that a cut away would worsen sound on the small 001mh? Did you need a cutaway for specific songs or do you think it`s all a question of practising? Thank you in advance for answering!
I’ve come to watch this 001 Mh demo so many times. Tone is all in the fingers.
Recently became aware of these beautiful instruments from Collings. Masterful playing and demonstration.

Congratulations...very nice, sweet sounding guitars. Thanks.

Thanks for the video.
I've always said, when you need to learn, listen to a pro and Mark is that pro!
Holy shmolly that 001Mh is unreal...
Me? Proud owner of the perfect mix of these: The 002H.
Sounds nice.Looks like my OO-1929 Santa Cruz.
Goldenberg > Gentleman > Genius!

Are u using Nickel strings on this mahogany ?!
Sounds VERY sweet, almost a classical guitar..
That's what I was thinking too and keep looking closely and the high strings almost look nylon.
dadario ej16s?? which strings? thanks
What kind of strings are you using on the OM2H? Many of the ones I've heard sounded so much brighter than yours. Yours sound very rich.
Don't mean to just jump in, but I own an om2h and use Ernie ball aluminum's. One of the broadest tones I've ever gotten from my Collings!
Mark mentions in the video he uses D'Addario 12's on both guitars.
