Great evening for me. Thanks. Lots of memories, George Michael's cottage etc. One thing I did not notice as we passed under Moulsford Bridge. Whether it is Brunel, Telford or Rennie's work skewed bridges are really amazing to me.
Mighty and rivery! Describes the Thames to a "T"! Gorgeous scenery this time...well, every time, but I really enjoyed the castle and the beautiful river. Glad you made it out before the end of October. Those rowers are a dedicated bunch! Thanks for an enjoyable start to my Sunday.

It is said that Edward 2nd died, with yes a red hot poker inserted somewhere I can only imagine to be very painful. It was actually at Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire, which is located 3 miles south of Sharpness docks.
@@MinimalList If you're planning to come south again to do the end of the Basingstoke, it would only be a small detour from the Thames to do this loop.
Hi Guys Great Vid. I am now the owner of a narrow boat and have been for a good few weeks, I have been navigating from Crew to Essex I am now on the Grand Union At Berkhamsted tomorrow heading to Hemel Hempstead. Going through London at the weekend Not on the Thames.
+Colin Stobbart Actually found it rather by accident (didn't know there was a door from the Natural History Museum); fascinating collection, really weird top floor listening to an excited father explaining to his ooing and awing girls how many people you could kill with each kind of sword! Loved it! M
+Michael Cummings it is nice and wide and (up this end at least) quite pleasant and calm, with little traffic at this time of year. Also the locks that others operate can be a bit addictive! M
Having been fortunate enough to have lived and grown up on a river the size of the upper Thames I really enjoyed this vlog. Great job. Oddly there was stone castle home and earthworks built by a reclusive stone mason along RR tracks in Fox River Grove IL The river was nearby. There was a single lock on the waterway way upstream.

Hi there! Great to see that my favourite youtubers are coming towards me! My girlfriend and I just bought a boat to live on that we are picking up from Whilton on Friday. You guys have been a great recourse for us when deciding to make the move to live on the water. We'll be going down the Oxford Canal to moor up in Oxford on the Thames over the next few months. Are you continuing north on the Oxford canal then? We'll keep an eye out for you! Sounds like we might very well pass each other. /Hannes and Isla on "Sorcha Eilis"

+Bob Ahlberg we will be cruising this winter, starting on the Oxford and heading north, while how much progress we make will be determined by lock closures and winter maintenance! M
Oh I've got such a long way to go to catch up with you but I'm really enjoying these posts. Fascinating, enjoyable, entertaining, relaxing and educational! I was pleased to see you made it off the K&A although I'd have been surprised if you didn't. I keep meaning to ask, what's the relevance of "1900" on the side of the boat? Was it built in 1900 or perhaps that's the time it rolled off the construction line one evening 😂
Sadly the answer is we really don’t know... the 1900 has been on her since she was first commissioned, but from what we were told the fella who named her isn’t with us any longer and no one knows the actual story. We think, having seen a mention of them at the Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port, that it may have been meant to evoke a Thames Waterman’s License number, which was unique to working boats plying the upper Thames and wouldn’t have been an unusual sight on a boat coming out of Weybridge onto the Thames. Since she was originally ordered for Pyrford Marine that would make some sense, and it’s in the right location centered under the name, but unfortunately it’s just speculation. M
I find it strange, the No Dogs Allowed Sign(s) When we visited we were totally overwhelmed with the presence of dogs everywhere, including the Pubs, churches, museums etc. there are some people who are (it is all about ME)
+Esther Kalkbrenner no, in the end it wasn't that boring at the mooring in Goring! Though we did also do some nice snoring at the Goring mooring! Geocaching would be an interesting idea. We'd need a GPS... and they'd have to be waterproof. M
+Mike Ormston Hi Mike, we know, there's unfortunately been an issue with the licensing on the music, and we've had to make it private while we sort that out. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon. So sorry. M
Hi Guys thanks for the reply, all I can say is OOPS I know some of my friends in the UK/USA RV/Sailing world have had similar problems, hope yours are sorted out soon as I do enjoy your videos/humour. Safe travels to you both.
+Mike Ormston Thank you, we will have it sorted soon, even if Jo uploads a version with different music. The video said it was licensed properly, but Google's system seems to disagree; first time it's happened so bit of a learning experience! M
As I have said I have had friends who have had same sort of problems as you have, but some how they got it sorted just as you will but cant wait to see your next great video should be lots of fun and humour as usual but Michael you seem to love English history, I would say you know more than me, I think I know more about USA by following RV/Sailing channels than Britain, but then each to their own thing right, but I have a great fondness for the inward waterways, Canals/Norfolk Broads.
Great film. One question, while you were on the mooring in Goring. I do hope you were not snoring. Because it is prohibited to do snoring on the mooring in Goring. Poor prose and I apologise for being boring. But it is allowed to be boring in Goring as long as you are not snoring. No snoring in Goring but it is allowed to be boring. Just no snoring. 😉
+Norman Boyes Hate to be pouring, but there was in fact snoring, upon our fine mooring, our mooring in Goring. Though it wasn't so boring as laying some flooring, after some storing up in high Goring we returned to our mooring and did, indeed, snoring, sleep at our mooring, that mooring in Goring. Hope you're not soaring, or thinking of warring, for all of our snoring at our mooring in Goring. M
It didn't take long in procuring a mooring yet nobody mentioned going touring after securing your mooring in Goring.
